hey all,
hope you're doing well. had my sleeve on Nov 7th, resting at home now. really looking forward to the rest of this journey!
Edited November 9 by sharkweek
My surgery date was November 7th also!! How are you doing? I've done pretty great thus far. I'm looking forward to next week, my birthday (december 19th) will be my six week mark and I'm excited but scared also. I don't want to slip back into old bad habits. I don't think I will but with the holiday's, it's going to be hard not to. I feel great AND I have more energy than I've had in years. I hope you are doing well also.

One month down with a loss of 22lbs! I’m ecstatic, as a ‘low bmier’ I expected less but hoped for the best and I made it! :-)

Today is one month out for me! Down 29 lbs since surgery and 39 since I started the pre op diet. I now fit in size 18 jeans when I was wearing 24s in October. Only issue right now is dizziness when I stand up so I’m really pushing liquids to keep my blood pressure up.

sharkweek got a reaction from Sosewsue61 in 9 hr roadtrip 2 weeks postop
Hi Cac! I took a 2.5 hour road trip for work almost exactly 2 weeks after surgery. I thought it would be no big deal because I love driving and my recovery has been insanely smooth and easy. It turned out to be pretty grueling and unpleasant actually -- just too much sitting up and having to concentrate that soon after surgery.
Maybe you're tougher than I am though. I would suggest taking lots of Water, planning lots of breaks if you can, and leaving yourself the flexibility to be able to reschedule your trip if your body's not up to it yet.

Hello November Sleevers! I hope you all are doing well. I had my surgery on 11/21, tomorrow will be 3 weeks exactly. I have lost just over 20lbs. Since starting the two week liquid diet, but I have been at the same weight here for almost two weeks. Like the number is not moving. I definitely feel better, I'm getting at least 60 oz of Fluid a day and hitting my Protein goals. Just seeing if anyone is having anything similar?

Hey guys had surgery yesterday. The pain is bad and I’m not able to get enough of the liquid. So they keeping me another day. Even though I’m having these pains I don’t regret this at all! Happy to be on the loser bench

I was sleeved 11/10/17. Day of surgery I was a little anxious but overall kept my spirits high! I woke up from surgery and had some pain but nothing a little pain meds couldn’t fix. I was up walking 2hrs after surgery and having a popsicle. I was able to come home. I was very sleepy and rested the remainder of the day and every time I had to use the restroom I tried to take small sips of Water. I also tried to stay on top of my pain meds. I’m now 4days out and feel pretty great! I’m able to drink two shakes a day and drink about 30oz of water throughout the day. I have not needed pain medicine since 2days post op. I have been very diligent about walking! I walk as often as I can and that seems to really help with gas.
Congrats and and I wish you all the best of luck!

IV fluids, probably. They told me not to weigh myself for a week after surgery.

I weighed NINE POUNDS more when I got home than when I got in. I'm now 3 lbs below my going in weight. So down 3 lbs overall. They told me not to weigh myself for 2 weeks. But...weighers gotta weigh weigh weigh LOL

Surgery on November 2, had minimal pain (the IV helped), Slept for hours post surgery, had to stay an extra day to adjust insulin and medications. I am feeling great, no pain, sipping warm tea, Decaf coffee, and Water all day. Protein Shakes, cottage cheese (small bites at a time)' yogurt. Staying moving as much as I can. This is going well for me. I feel like the weight of the world has lifted off my shoulders. Been a long time coming and prepping, and now it's real. My decision for surgery was for health, with diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis in my hips. My hope for the future is to get mobility back and get healthy.
