  1. Well said Heather... I agree 100%.

Puddin... I just want to tell you how brave I think you are for admitting all of this here. I know exactly where you are coming from with the sex addiction kinda thing... I was in that exact place for years before I met my husband. I just want to you to know I think you have guts girl!
  3. Drews ( my nickname for my hubby is Drew) Lou (his nickname for me is Lou) LOL... it's pretty silly I guess. :faint:
  4. I am planning on laying down the ciggies for good next Monday. Wish me luck!
  5. Count me in on a Valentine's Day challenge!! I would like to see 199 by Feb 14th. That means I will need to lose 21 pounds in 7 weeks. Can I do it?? I dunno but I sure want to try! I FINALLY have awesome restriction... in fact, I have lost 3 pounds in the past week and couldn't be happier. I plan on hitting the gym again starting next week and also giving up my cigarettes as well. I am determined to be as close to my goal of 170 as possible before I get pregnant. It doesn't seem so far away now! I cannot believe I have lost almost 60 pounds! I can't help but wonder where I would be right now if I hadn't had my 3 month weight loss stall (and gain!) with my leaky port. Hmmmm.... Hope everyone is doing well (sounds like you are!) and I will start a new thread for January next week! Wow... we have been together for 8 months now! Awesome! I love you guys! Peace.
  6. Judy... I hear ya sister! My insurance also specifically excluded WLS. I lucked out and found a doc here in Denver that does the whole deal for $9950. I couldn't be happier with him! I would love to pass on info if your interested!
  7. I had my port replaced because I had a leak in my tubing (it's all connected). No biggie though.... I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
  8. It was VERY hard for me to get it through my head to not drink while I eat. I was so obsessed about it that my neice and nephew caught on to me not doing it and they refused to drink when eating as well. (OOPS!) When I was going through my no-restriction phase when I had my leak, I would sip a bit while eating just to wet my mouth. Since my replacement surgery and proper restriction, no way, no how could I drink ANYTHING until at least 30 minutes after I eat. I would be in instant pain if I did. Peace.
  9. Hey gang... just checkin' in. I am dealing with the post-Christmas blah's here. it's such a let down for me after the holidays are over and I have to coem back to work. Good news though... I lost a couple of pounds in the craziness of the holidays! Yay!
  10. I am from CO... just northeast of Denver. Dr Smith is not my doc but I know of a few around here that are his patients, maybe one of them will see your thread! Congrats on being banded!
  11. I wouldn't waste my money on a Magic Bullet. There are a bunch of other contraptions out there that will do the same thing much cheaper! I bought mine a month or so after surgery after hearing people talk about it on here and I just had to have one. LOL I think I can count the number of times I have used it on one hand! I'm not a protein shake drinker though so maybe if I was I would use it more?
  12. I finally got dug out from the blizzard yesterday. I have a thread titled "Stuck in a Blizzard" with pics if anyone is interested! BTW.... I'm down 2 pounds this week... and it's my TOM... freakin' amazing! Here's the link to the other thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/stuck-blizzard-t27055p2.html
  13. I am doing good... at this point just trying to dig out of this mess. We had to have front loader come and dig out our driveway today. I'll attach a pic!
  14. Pics! 1. Hubby's car stuck 2. Me trying to shovel my way to my Jeep 3. Jeep stuck 4. Hubby trying to get off the deck!
  15. Well here I am in CO.... and we are in the middle of a blizzard. I have probably 2 feet of snow in my driveway and some of the drifts are at least 4 or 5 feet deep. No way am I making it anywhere tomorrow. They sent us home from work today at about noon and my normal 20 minute commute took me an hour and a half! It was like night of the living dead out there. You could go for miles and not see another car then suddenly come around a turn and see cars stranded, stuck in feet of snow. This is the craziest storm we have had in years!! I came home and made a big pot of chili... the best on a day like this! This evening I had the BRILLIANT idea of taking my hubbys car out to the road to check the mail. Needless to say, his car is stuck in our field. The snow was so deep I tried to back up and go back to the garage in my tire tracks... no such luck. So there I was, in a tshirt, jammie pants and my slippers, stuck about 100 yards away from my house. I tried to open the car door and the snow was so deep it wouldn't budge. I pushed and pushed and finally got it open enough to get out. I stepped out of the car and immediatly sunk up to my knees (keep in mind I am wearing SLIPPERS and no socks) I made a running beeline for my tire tracks and ran back into the garage, running out of my slippers all along the way. I got back in the house and told my hubby what happened (apologizing profusley) and he just laughed hysterically at me. I guess it was pretty funny looking back on it now. I sure wish I hadn't done it though! Guess I'll be spending my day off tomorrow digging his car out. Fun times! Just had to share! :help:
  16. Yay Kirsten! Glad your doing so well girl!
  17. YAY Shesha! I'm glad it went well and soon you'll be a member of the band! Yo-hoooo Kirsten! Sounds like you are doing great!

  19. Moon... I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  20. WOOHOO! Send him my way Carlene!
  21. Welcome Kelly! Another option to going to Mexico if price is the reason.... my doc in Denver does the band for $9950 which includes everything. PM me if I can help!
  22. PRESIDENT BUSH A WONDERFUL SMART MAN. A GREAT PRESIDENT. Whoa... talk about a battle of wit's with an unarmed person. :girl_hug:
  23. So I have some exciting news.... hubby and are are going through fertility testing!!! I did some blood work last week and next week I got for an internal ultrasound to see how my ovaries look. (I have PCOS) Hubby is parapalegic and we aren't really sure if he has viable soldiers or not. When he was in his car accident 13 years ago his pelvis was ripped in half and we don't really know if all the plumbing is still attached or not. If it turns out what he has is not viable we will probably go with a sperm donor. I want to be a mom more than anything and I am so excited!! Did I mention I LOVE MY BAND???
  24. They got around it by piling dirt under the deck.
