    Just starting the process

I might ask you questions too if that's ok, finding the board a bit overwhelming in size!
  2. I’m due to see the nurse today for my first dressing change without being high as a kite in meds on the ward. Really scared it’s going to hurt, it feels so tender!

    Dressing to be changed, scared!

Hey, you were right! It didn't hurt one bit! I only had one of the 5 dressings changed as they all looked good and the nurse was more worried she's introduce infection by fiddling with them. Back next week for clips out :/

I think it depends on where you are as to whether surgeons are not doing them as much. Here in the UK we have yet to have any horror stories and I'm pretty confident from the research I did that the band is as much of a viable option as the others. My choice was based around not wanting to permanently alter my internal organs, the option for reversal, recovery time etc, but that was MY choice. The best you can do is lots of reading and think about what it is you want, speak to your surgeon and get them to discuss the options and statistics with you. If you look for bad you will find bad about anything. Good Luck!

    Hello, newbie here!

I’ve been able to potter about the house a bit but not much, any time I squeeze or stretch my abdomen too much I know about it
  6. Hey, I had my band inserted on Monday and was wondering about smoothies. My Bariatric nurse says very thin milky smoothies are ok but what about seeds from fruits?

    Hello, newbie here!

Sounds good, after the milk only diet I did before hand, a chocolate slimfast is a real treat

    Hello, newbie here!

I bet you are looking forward to soft foods! I’m doing ok, not really hungry but worried I won’t get the right nutrition. I’m in England

10 days post op lap band

This is good to read, I’m 2 days post op and so tender like I’ve done hundreds of sit ups! Hopefully this will ease soon, liquid paracetamol is vile [emoji39]

    Hello, newbie here!

Hi, thanks for getting in touch, how have you found it so far? I haven’t managed to sort into meal times yet, I’m just having small amounts of soup or milk/slimfast three or four times a day with tea in between.
