    Any teachers?

I am a music teacher and had my vsg the week before Thanksgiving. I went back when everyone else did after Thanksgiving and conducted 3 Christmas concerts.

    Freaking myself out

So, the scale is moving -yay! As far as the 100 g of protein, I am mixing unflavored protein powder with thinned soup and having a protein shake with 2 scoops every morning. I am allowed pudding in my liquid phase so I have some protein pudding that I made. I use isopure protein powder.
  4. My son had appendicitis and when I called the dr she asked if he could jump because apparently if you can't jump because of the pain that is an indicator of appendicitis because of the rebound pain.

    Can’t stop puking!

I had quite a bit of nausea and vomiting the first three days, phenergan suppositories were a godsend!
  6. Hi everyone! I was sleeved on the 14th of November, so I am just shy of a week post op. I have been sitting here reading lots of posts and have gotten myself freaked out... 1st thing is that I haven't lost any weight yet, today was day 5 post op, my husband says my body is still swollen and adjusting but I would like to see the scale move. 2nd thing is I am a little worried that I am overeating. My nutritionist gave me a goal of 100 g of protein and I am hitting that. I am not hungry, I sip most of the day. I read a post where people were talking about only having 4 oz at a time and that is what worried me. However, I am not really "eating" yet as I am on full fluids only. Is it ok that my protein shake is 8 oz or thinned soup is 8 oz? It takes me about an hour to drink the shake and less for the soup since it is warm. I am right at 64oz of liquid for the day. I just mostly sip things all day, never feel full or hungry. Is this ok? Just don't want to screw this up.

    Sleeved and sent home

I was sleeved this past Tuesday at a surgery center about an hour from my house. Once out of recovery, we went home and I really don't remember much about recovery or going home. It is all a blur. To be honest, day 1 after I got home was rough. I had a tremendous amount of gas pain and nausea. I dry heaved and vomited a few times that day. I also had a very hard time getting comfortable because of the gas. Day 2 was so much better. I threw up that morning after I forgot to sip water and drank too much too fast. But other than nausea here and there, I was much more comfortable. I had my post op appt on day 3 and all was good but he told me to stay on clear liquids for an extra day because of all the nausea. Looking back, I would still choose to do it again outpatient. Even though I was uncomfortable and nauseous, I don't think being in the hospital would have changed that. My surgeon gave us his cell number and was quick to respond when my husband texted him some questions. Good luck with your surgery!
