I did NOT like the way Kate was portrayed the first season. It felt like her storyline was to be fat and maybe a little grief, but nothing more. I'm liking her much more this season. Hate her boyfriend though, hate the story of their courtship, and don't think they have any chemistry at all.

Aside from that, though, I love the show! Randall and his wife are the best TV couple ever. Adorable, totally believable chemistry, they play off one another seamlessly.

I had my surgery yesterday morning!! I feel great today. A little sore but so glad I went through it. He found a large hiatal hernia and a whole in my esophagus. But he patched me all up and I am doing great. Just waiting for my leak test, then I can go home!!

I am not telling my family either. My wife knows but no one else. Really not in the mood for well-intentioned yet ill informed advice from the family. Even if the flip side is correct and they full support me 100%, I dont want it to be a constant topic of conversation. Other people thrive on support from family and friends and that was works for them. But for me, this forum and my wife is all the support I want.

Another thing to note....

As we lose weight, we need fewer calories just for subsistence. Phrased another way, a 300lb body burns more calories just existing than a 100lb body.

If you consistently eat, say 1000 calories a day, you may lose 3-4lbs a week at the start. Eating the SAME calories three months later when you weigh 50lbs less your weight loss will slow.

I'm hearing a lot of uncertainty. I think you should talk to someone (preferably a doctor) to find out just how risky this pregnancy would actually be. You should absolutely do what is right for you, but I hate for you to make this big of a decision based on an insurance deductible. Money comes and goes, but regret might be there forever.
You may also be feeling some pressure because of your hubby getting a vasectomy. You are closing the door to the possibility of a post-op pregnancy as well. (There are less permanent forms of birth control if you decide to go ahead with the surgery now, and leave the possibility of another pregnancy open for a later date after you've lost weight).
Don't worry about depriving your kids of a sibling. Kids don't like to share, anyway. This is about you and your vision of the future.

I have surgery Thursday and back to work Monday. Every case is different, job, movement, empathy from employers etc. I'm also in a situation where if I don't work I don't get paid. There are no replacements for my position that can "take over" while I'm gone either. My mortgage isn't going to pay itself. I won't feel guilty if I make it home and spend all night on the couch/bed, but work has to be done or I wont have a couch/bed to heal in, feel me?
