Rebuckling Expectations?
All buckled up and doing well. Back to losing instead of gaining. Lost 8 of the 30 pounds I regained. VERY HAPPY to have this tool back.

Rebuckling Expectations?
Dr. says they were unrelated, but happened within 5 days of each other, so who knows?

Rebuckling Expectations?
I had a slip then a bowel obstruction last year, so dr unbuckled my band to allow the swelling to go down. I'm scheduled to have it rebuckled on the 15th. What can I expect?

Ex husband
I ran into my ex-husand and his wife today at the mall for the firsti time since my surgery. The look on his face was priceless!! His wife, who incidently was his girlfriend during our marriage, wouldn.t even look at me. Although I did this for myself and my health, it made everything even sweeter.:scared2:

bowel movement?
It took me a good 6 months to have BM every day. You are so cleaned out prior to surgery, that you don't have that fullness you are so used to by the way we used to eat. Your body doesn't know how to react. Give it time. It will get back to normal eventually

How often are you supposed to get fills?
I was banded Nov 2008. I just got my second fill. the first was about a month out. I asked for this one because my weight loss was ony 1/2 pound in the last 6 months and I've been humgry lately. Sounds like you're doing well with your loss and the exercise is really the key to fast results.

Very Discouraged
Eating a cup of food and still being hungry sounds like you need more restriction. Also, are you drinking liquids within an hour of your meals? That will flush the food through faster and create hunger sooner. Exercise daily for at leasy 30 minutes is the key, though. You can break it up into 3 10 minute sessions. Good luck and don't give up!

Youngstown area St Es and St Joes
Go to the Weight Loss Center at St Elizabeth's and Dr. Woodruff. He's great. I had my band put on in Novemeber and have lost 80 pounds. they work hard with you to help you succeed. good luck!

Frist fill Scheduled
He didn't do any scope. He just wanted tomake sure I could drink water. It helped him make sure it wasn't too tight. He does it while the needle's in so he doesn't have to reprick if it's too tight.

Frist fill Scheduled
After. They don't need you to do anything before.

6 Month Dr. supervised diet requirement
No, you don't have to lose. In fact, if you lose, they can deny your surgery because you were successful. Try not to gain, but don't woryy about the numbers. I actually gained 5 pounds during my diet. It just shows them that you cannot lose even when supervised. Ask your nutritionist about the time frame. Shey're experienced in what insurance companies will accept. Good luck!

Frist fill Scheduled
Nothing to it. A small needle prick. You have to drink water as dr is filling with the needle hanging out of the port. don't look if you are afraid of needles. they'll have you do liquids, mushy, soft for about 2 days each, then back to were you were. Good luck!

I need help getting back on track
I've been doing great until about 2 months a go. 70 pounds gone since Nov 2008. Can't complain about that. Now I keep eating things I know are high in calories and can't seem to get my mind set changed to stop myself. Nothing going on. busy as ever, so I'm not thinking it's mood or hormones. I think I've hit the mind set that I'm just tired of "dieting" that's always what got me in trouble before the band and sent me back up. I haven't gained any weight back, but I'm not losing either. any words of wisdom?

Please help with ideas
I'm 53. Banded in Nov 08. lost 41 lbs so far. My meals are usually protien shake and one cup of tea for breakfast 2.5- 4 oz of tuna or chicken with light mayo for lunch 4oz yougurt for snack 3-4 oz of fish, chicken, or ground beef for dinner I confess I do cheat on occasion and have a 3Muskateers or Weight Watchers icec cream.

I'm at a weight stand still.
Sounds like you plateaued. Just keep doing what you are doing (might eat breakfast. a protien shake would do) you'll find that you suddenly drop several pounds in one day. good luck.

I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
7 months from my initial phone call to surgery. Mostly due to my insurance company's demands. my band is 10c. I have 3 in there and feel it. 3 oz of protien stay in there for hours. Can't eat beef or pork without pain. Lost 32 pounds and 24 inches already.

What does it feel like to get food stuck?
You will know if you get food stuck. It hurts. You feel miserable. Nothing but time helps. If it happens, evualte what you ate and how to determine the cause and not do it again. Believe me, you do not want to repeat that experience.

How soon after you got the band did you start exercising?
I started walking the day of my surgery. Walked the halls at the hospital, Used the treadmill when I got home. Went back to Curves (slowly) on day ten. Yesterday I started back on the Smart Curves, but am still passing on the abdominal work. If I feel a pull or am sore, i stop. I would think we're all different, so your docotr's right. whenever you feel like it.

Seriously?!?!?
I've had the same problem. No weight loss ofr days, then suddenly a drop. I't water retention. Your body's holding on to everything going to to ward off starvation according to my dietrician. Hang in there. It does come off. Walk, walk, walk to get your system to let go.

I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
I gained 8 pounds in the hospital. My roommate gained 18! We were both bummed. It went away quickley and now I'm donw 27 pounds since Oct 14th. this has been worth it so far. I have to be careful to get all my protein in, because I forget to eat. I'm just not hungry. My DR prescribed Celebres for pain. I took it for two days, mostly for the shoulder pain from the gas. Didn't do much, unfortunately. I now have to be careful not to overdue it. I feel great and tend to foret I'm less than two weeks out.

I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
I was banded on the 10th. I'm sore still, but each day a little less. Today I'm supposed to be allowed mushy food for the first time. I was so excited, I didn't chew up my vitamins enough and now they're stuck. It's my own fault and there's nothing I can do now until they dissolve and pass through. Live and learn.

Told to give up coffee
I was told to stop drinking it during pre op and recovery. It ain't gonna happen. It is my only vice. I've cut down from drinking coffee all day to two cups in the morning. My nutritionist says that the studies have shown that caffeine increases your appetite, thus making it harder to lose the weight. I can't say that happens to me. I've even noticed that sometimes if I am hungry, I drink a cup of coffee and it tides me over. My thouhgts are that if you keep it in moderation, you'll be OK.

Could REALLY use some feedback; Results from Endoscopy & Upcoming Banding
I had an infection, too. My docotr put me on two weeks of antibiotics and previcid. Once that was gone, I was good to go. My docotr says many people have this infection, but don't know it. It didn't delay my surgery at all. 9 days to go.

Bought my stuff......
I bought all the bowell prep my surgeon wants me to do next sunday, the chewable vitamins, calcium, broth, and whey protein. I keep looking for better prices on the gas strips. 7.99 for 30 at Rite Aid seems high. I have to wait on the Celebrex and an anti nausea suppository from the drug store. They have to order it. I have plenty of books to read when I get home. The only thing I'm taking to the hospital is slippers, a book, and clothes to go home.
