  1. OK, all of our doctors tell us to stop smoking. I did for about 24 hours. It's been almost a year since I had my surgery. I've lost 50 lbs, I feel great. However, I have incredible heartburn. I went to the doctor last week, and they removed some fluid thinking I was too tight. Now, I eat EVERYTHING! I really think the heartburn is from smoking. Anyone else have this problem? I keep wanting to call the doctor, to have him put the fluid back in, but then again, I want to do what's right - STOP SMOKING - then once I do good - get a reward of more fluid. Am I a mess or what? Please let me know your advise. Thanks so much.
  2. Are you drinking when you eat? If so, your just flushing everything past your band. Let me know if you're not, we'll work on something else.
  3. Thank you all. I go tomorrow for an unfill. I've had terrible heartburn for about a month. I kept thinking it would go away. I called the doctor today, and they were pretty insistent that I come in tomorrow. I was scared of a possible slip. I've been eating poorly. Thank you for getting me back on track. I'm excited again!
  4. We just got back from Disney about a month ago. I had my surgery in November. I had a hard time eating that week, but I got filled a little too tight before we left. I would recommend getting any fills about a week before you leave, so you have time to get it corrected if necessary. I was able to ride all the rides and have a great time! I hope you and your family are able to do the same!
  5. OK, this has happened 2x now. I PB so much that I dry heave. It feels like my whole lap band will come up too! Sometimes I can eat a lot, more often than not, I can't get much of anything down. Am I too tight? Every time I get ready to call for an un-fill, I can eat normally. What is going on? Please help me!
  6. I paid a little over $14,000 for mine, but now the doctor has it posted on his website for a little over $11,000. Like someone else said, CareCredit offers great financing. I pay $250 a month & totally worth it. I'm close to Cincinnati! This includes all aftercare!!!! The cost is a lot, but do it!!!
  7. I LOVE WII FIT! I have lost 5 lbs since I bought it a week ago! It is so much fun. I'm addicted. I tell everyone I know they have to buy one. The band is a tool, and I think the next most useful tool is the Wii Fit! BigPapa2 - Mine is weighing be pretty accurately. I would check to see if there is a way to calibrate it.
  8. My second and third fills were the ones where I noticed the most change. Just be super careful tonight. If the vomiting persists, contact your doctor. You don't want a slip. Please keep us posted!
  9. I have never had any complications. If something tugs or pulls, it usually goes away pretty quickly. Now, it seems for the last week, my port has been hurting me. Either a tugging sensation, or just a sharp pain. Any ideas on what's causing this or more importantly - how do I made it stop? Thanks for your help.
  10. Help. I haven't lost (or thankfully..gained) weight in over 2 weeks. I have some restriction (maybe I need a tiny bit more). I almost never eat breakfast, usually soup or salad for lunch, a protein & veggies for dinner. What am I doing wrong? Please help me with suggestions. It is do sad to be stuck at the same weight when I was loosing so well in the beginning. Thanks for your help!
  11. You shouldn't be throwing up liquid, especially if you are eating soup. Are you chugging water? If so - STOP. Drink and eat slowly. If your gut is telling you that this is a problem. Call your doctor. They should have an emergency line. This isn't normal.
  12. I just had my second fill today. Both times I've had to have some removed. The first time, he but in 3 and took out 1. Today, he put in 2 and removed some - I'm sure .5 to 1. I couldn't swallow water in the office. The nurse said sometimes they've had "slow fillers". Since it happened to me twice, she said they will have to go slow with me every time. I'm a bit discouraged, but I'm sure it will work out. (I'm hoping.) I'm in the same spot of you... I get filled, unfilled, then a few days later - I'm hungary again. I'm sure it's all going to be the way it supposed to.... Good luck!
  13. My doctor told me that banded patients only throw up what is on top of the band. Anything below the band won't come back up. Kinda scary - if you get the flu, I would think you would be more miserable if you couldn't "release" it. Good luck. Hope you don't get it!
  14. Everyone slips up. I slipped up today and had Papa Johns pizza with all the crust. I'm on mushies until Wednesday and thought I could go for it. Owwww. It hurts. I'm learning the hard way when you're not ready. I'm very sorry to heard about your dad. Good luck. I will keep you and your dad in my prayers.
  15. I was banded on 11/12, and just found my port today (I was afraid to search before...) I has a horrible pain on my left side right over my ribs. It's been bothering me all day, and wondering why my doctor put it right over my ribs. Oh well.
