Oh gosh! I love the idea! However, we were told in class that there is no proof, or not enough proof anyway that these actually would be absorbed through our skin.
everything in me screams, WELL WHY NOT??
But since I am not educated enough on the Patches, I made the decision to listen to the Doctor and RDs in my bariatric group.

I am scheduled for surgery Dec 6th, so I have been busy buying all of my "supplies". I actually asked my NUT about the Patches before I bought my multi Vitamin and she said the patches were fine to use. I guess every program is different.

I've heard from a couple of different doctors that they aren't effective if you're over 185 pounds. It's really just an "insurance policy" as my NUT puts it, so they would probably be fine since you'll eventually get that weight probably.

I think it depends on what you can swallow. I found round tablets a bit big and kind or dry but the long ones or caps were fine. If you start out on opioids like oxycodone or codeine just be mindful of Constipation even if they didn't do it to you Pre surgery they might now. I was also told to stay away from all NSAIDs like nurofen voltarin celebrex etc as they can cause ulcers.

@Marcy13 I found a liquid Tylenol on Amazon I was thinking of getting. I don't know if it will be necessary or not, but was thinking it might be good to have just in case. It is for adults, not for kids

I started a vegan lifestyle as soon as i got my surgery. Did not told this to my surgeon. I know he wouldn't approved. It has been a little difficult to keep a good balance.
    So far i have learn:
EAT YOUR GREENS...at least 5 times a week!! at least 2 cups of kale or spinach or some other leafy greens take a vegan Vitamin supplement, I use Deva Tiny Tablets No isolated oils... I use nut butters, and all sort of seeds and nuts. But totally avoid as much as i can isolated oils. The only one i may use 1 time a week is the coconut oil. eat whole grains, oats, brown rice, whole wheat you name it! every day!! fall in luv with all types of potatoes, sweets, yams etc.... I have no limits and eat them as much as i can. I use only organic soy milk!! it has lots of Protein... no problem with fruits and veggies... eat them with freedom no process sugars... instead I mixed some stevia with unprocess brown sugar and use that instead, to use less sugar as possible. But also use lots of dates instead. follow Dr. Gregers Daily Dozen app! this will safe your life! dont be afraid of carbs ... they are your friends just keep it whole food, low or no oil or process sugars. and stay away from process vegan food.. is full with additives, salt, sugars and oils. follow all this and every thing will be great.
