Good on you for realising it, I hope you can turn it around! I'm just beginning my journey so I don't have any advice for you - Other than to maybe consider digging up an old photo of yourself and stick it in your wallet so that the next time you're about to buy something you shouldn't it might help you to remember how it felt to be so big, and how far you've come since then.

That's great advice - thanks! I guess it's just hard not to see the scale moving so early in to the journey... I get that I need to be patient, and I will be (I have no choice... haha).
I switched to purees about 3 days earlier than I should have because I feel I am ready, so that's keeping me distracted - There's so much to research on how and what to make so I have options pre-prepared. Fun times

Loose skin is a concern of mine too, but it's certainly a better option than continuing to live life at 400lbs.
I plan to get in to lifting as soon as I am able (I believe 10 weeks after surgery...?) Hopefully that will help!

Exactly ... she/he treats me well as a patient/customer. I respect the years of preparation and training that she/he has done in the years leading up to my surgery.
I pay any fees promptly. I verify that the health insurance company transfers moneys to the surgeon, the anaesthetist and the clinic/hospital.
She/he gives good follow-up care in the 9-15 months post-op.

@three79 I've been holding my own for the past 2 years... My advice, take advantage of this time (the first 6-12 months on average) is your most weight loss... Take Pictures.... because they will show your progress... besides the scale... I remember waking up one morning, looking into the mirror, and say, 'who is that guy'? Keep us posted on your progress.

Wow. I tend to look at the right side of the page's list of recent topics and click on subjects to read the posts. Most of the time I don't even notice which forum it's in. I can read just fine, thanks, I have a MA in English Literature. I thought I was being respectful: But you sure weren't.
