I have hypertension on a blood pressure pill, and Water pill and it stays between 170-140/95-75on the meds. Ive had it since I was a teen. I am currently 6months post partum I had to have my son premature emergency c section due to preeclampsia and cholestasis, I have PCOS/metabolic syndrome so it's even harder for me to lose weight, my back is in such pain over the littlest activities, I have severe joint pains, I worked full time as a server and could barley stay under 210, and I don't eat much, I've been on antidepressants on and off since I was 16 I dont know what it's like to not feel ashamed of my body, to not have pain, to be able to exercise and be active with others, to wear clothes I truly want instead of baggy tees..ive been overweight since I was 7yrs old i was on more diets before puberty than most adults, I've tried medicine, dietitians, even played sports in highschool. Heart disease runs ramped in the females of my family, my commitment is to live as long and happily as I can for my husband and son..that's my reason.

I am 230 but have alot of health issues for only being 24, I am curious to know how weightloss is for people around my starting weight. Hopefully getting a date soon

I wasn't either, in fact I was insulin resistant and couldn't take the meds which made it even harder to lose weight. I never lost more than 5kg dieting and I regained them every time and added a few more kg.
Each body is different, it's not important how fast we lose the weight as long as we lose it. So whether you are a fast or a slow loser be happy you are losing at all.
Right now I'm not losing as fast as I did the first few weeks but I keep seeing the scale go down and for me that's a win.

My highest weight was 289, my current weight is 251, and my surgery is in 10 days. I’m feeling a little bit terrified, but finding some comfort reading different posts. I believe I’m doing the right thing, but it is a huge life changing decision, for sure! I’m 58 and want to enjoy my senior years. I lost my husband of 29-years 9 years ago to cancer. I’m ready to date again, but first want to focus on being healthy and secure with me. Let the adventure begin!!!

I was 226 the day of surgery, which was in April. The weight loss started off rapid and stayed that way for 2 months then gradually slowed down. I was 27 on the day of surgery. 28 now. Other than being morbidly obese, I didn't have any other health problems.

I'm 5'3 230lb, HBP (on two meds), back pain lumbar scoliosis, reflux(meds) PCOS (meds) just started my bypass journey don't have a date yet, still doing the checklist waiting on appointments and referrals

I'm just starting my journey too. Had my first surgeon visit on 10/13 and have the abdominal ultrasound and first nutrition appointment coming up on Monday. Pulmonary appointment on Tuesday. February upper endoscopy and a March cardiologist appointment. Because of my insurance the process takes 7 months (7 nutritionist visits). I also wonder why the the OP had such a dragged out process. My bariatric team selected my surgery date before they submit it to insurance. I have Medicare is the primary and Blue Cross Blue Shield 65 special as my secondary insurance.

250, sleeved 10/10....things depend on your height as well of course.

I'm 26 and I was around 260 pounds when I saw my surgeon for the first time. I'm almost 3 months post op and lost 68 pounds already. (surgery date aug. 14th 2017 hey @jo same date )

Hi! Yes i was 235 on my surgery date(august 14,2017). I had a lot of issues too: diabetes, barrett, reflux, sleep apnea...and now I did not need any pills for diabetes, no reflux and I can sleep without my cpap. Of course my weight is better now too. i am 195 pounds now and I did not have 3 months yet.

I was 226 on day of surgery (HW was 242 at first revision consult) only have asthma and back pain. This was a revision for me. Started with a lapband 7 or so years ago at a hw of 239. So glad I had the revision.
