  1. A lot of people loose a couple pant sizes when they have skin removal. I doubt you will "still look fat" afterwards, but its very possible to loose inches if you decided to go the plastics route. Good thing that they make some amazing shape wear now-a-days.
  2. Congrats on your surgery! I also had problems with a nurse my first night, and had to talk with the Nurse Manager. It's important to file a complaint, so that they can correct the problem for future patients.
  3. This is very common to go through depression after this surgery. I would discuss the possibility that you might have absorption issues with the Prozac. Also, I would enlist the help of a therapist during this time. It really helps to have someone in your corner to talk through all these changes. Even with all the good, it can be overwhelming. Take care!
  4. I would echo seeing a therapist. With a combo of hormones and the changes you are going through, its a mixture for situational depression. This too shall pass.
  5. My rings were loose from the very beginning. My feet and hands shrunk immediately. But it took about 2 months to get back into my rings. Now they are borderline falling off, but they said its bad for your rings to have them sized too many times. Therefore, I'm holding off, because I've already had them done twice in the past.
  6. @Creekimp13 might have some good options!
  7. @Ken S. mine is doing the same.... V-6.0.6
  8. I wanted to give you guys an update. I still don't have much of an answer. I called my surgeon's office who reluctantly is going to mail me a few lab orders to retest my Iron, Vitamin D, and Hemoglobin. However, they don't really think that the problem is in my levels. I can't get in to see my primary doctor until the end of this month. So I'm just stuck practically falling asleep in non-active settings. I'm completely fine if I'm up moving or working on something. The second I sit down, WHAM. I feel like a wave of sleepiness overcomes me.
  9. I couldn't have lived without the clip on fan they brought me to attach to the bed rail. I was so hot for the couple days after surgery. I would have laid in bed naked if I could have. So a personal fan, not a bad option. Other than that, extra long charger, lip balm, dry mouth spray, pillow from home, very comfy and loose fitting pants, soft bra (if your brave enough to wear one home), slippers to walk the halls, and I brought my robe for when the IV came out.
  10. The answer to your question is complicated. I'd say, no. But let me explain, as to not discourage you. I had RNY, so I don't eat anything with added or processed sugar. I used to eat sweets now and again, now the sweetest I get is fruit. My whole diet has changed. I don't hardly eat anything I used to. I'm very focused on lean protein, whereas before, I would have eaten my potato and my salad first and barely touched my chicken. There is so much that I have to say, "no thanks" to. But I also don't crave things like I used to either. After time, you don't think about the things you can't have. It just becomes second nature, like someone who is lactose intolerant.
  11. I might order some condiments from this website, because I've saved up points that I didn't know existed until last week. I've got at least $25 off right now.
  12. I wouldn't say I cook blandly, but since the surgery I'm not as adventurous with flavors as I used to be. I used to like spicy things and now I steer clear. Probably because I had something early on that was so spicy it made me start coughing and I felt desperate for a drink. I haven't wanted to repeat this. I don't buy specific WLS condiments, but I do measure. I also look at the labels and buy mostly natural ingredients and yogurt based salad dressings.
  13. Oh yea, I didn't think about the sugars. I didn't realize that tomato soup has added sugar. But, I guess I have to be careful with pasta sauce as well. It always amazes me how much added sugar is in everything. But when people make things from scratch, for example pasta sauce, do they really think to add sugar? Maybe, but I don't. I guess I hear it one of two ways. People always talk about the calorie content of condiments, but I was also recommended to add sauces. To each their own!
  14. Some people might scold me, but I still sauce things, especially meats. I use sugar free BBQ sauce, low fat ranch, low sodium gravy, A-1 sauce, ect. It helps get the meats down. I say as long as you measure and include it in your calorie/fat intake for the day, its worth a shot.
  15. Could be the sodium in the tomato soup (I'm assuming it's shelf bought?). I've got a really good recipe for a homemade if you'd be willing to give it shot. Do you dump with anything else acidic?
  16. You've lost on average 3.3lbs per week. This is pretty good. If you continue to loose 3 lbs you will have lost 79.2lbs in 6 months. 158.2 lbs in a year. I wouldn't concentrate on how quickly you loose, rather that you follow the program. This is meant to take 12-18 months.
  17. I was very tired after my surgery also. It wasn't until soft foods week 4-5 that I felt more energized and started working out. I napped on and off throughout the day, but I never slept during the day for more than an hour. Its important to get up and move around to avoid blood clots. Also, if you are sleeping, you aren't hydrating. Sleep is important, but as long as you balance it with activity and fluids.
  18. I've added it to my Amazon cart! Thank you! The price can't be beat!
  19. Are you sure that you aren't just head hungry?
  20. Sometimes I wonder if people post this stuff and sit back and chuckle. It’s this a real question? I was allowed only whole grain bread after 6 weeks. Doesn’t sound like a smart decision. Stay away from anything white! It’s a good rule of thumb.
  21. While I can see with both points of view, I resonate with this comment. There is a lot that I find offensive in life. I mean, I started to type out a list, but it's too long. If I chose to take all that I find offensive, personally, I wouldn't have relationships with all the people in my life. Everyone has a different set of morals and beliefs. Everyone sees things differently. SERIOULSY PEOPLE, imagine all the things you find offensive.... what if you took this closed minded stance with everyone.....
  22. I'm super boring and usually have left over meat that I grilled the night before. Today is a boneless skinless chicken thigh, with Sugar Free BBQ Sauce. I will follow that in about an hour or two later with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. But I always have a lean meat for 2 meals a day.
  23. Hi Karen, I started out at 332, a BMI in the 50's, and my doctor set an expectation of 3-5lbs per week. You are loosing 4lbs per week on average. This is really good. This process doesn't happen overnight. Keep up the good work, you should be very proud.
