I have to look my best always to combat the idea, exhausting...

Im 39 days away from my 1 year surgiversary and couldn't be happier with my results. I was able to spend 10 days hiking/roaming in England, Ireland & Scotland in July with my oldest son. The most real comment he made to me was 3 days into the trip when we got done with several miles and were sitting in Green Park outside Buckingham Palace. He looked at me and said we never could've done this when I was fat! Ouch...but so true. So glad I decided to get healthy and live life to the fullest!

Where to begin...people have assumed I'm sick, that I lost weight because I'm no longer married, that I'm too active (like your walking example), that I need to eat more, that I should have some cookies/ cakes/candies because a litte won't hurt, that I'm too thin, that I need to stop losing (which I have), etc, etc.

The reality is that many have never struggled with weight or they don't care about their weight. And they don't see the health problems I've overcome by losing weight. They can't relate.

So, I'm doing me and living my best life. Sometimes I get it wrong and that's ok I learn and move forward. I'm not trying to impress or be better than anyone else. All I can try to do is be a better me than I was the day before. And as for the assumptions, they can get aggravating but I try to laugh most of it off.

42 when I had surgery - only regret is not doing it sooner! My life has changed so much for the better. I'm healthy, more active, off medications, etc.

Yes...the date I was in the hospital with BP so high they thought I'd have a stroke or heart attack is on my arm as a constant reminder. Also one on my chest to commemorate rediscovering wanderlust!

I'm almost 4 weeks out...22 lost since surgery and 90 since I started.

Had my 6 month follow up exercise eval & appointment yesterday. I'm at 95% excess weight lost and almost a 150 pounds down! I never would've dreamed I could be at this point. So thankful and happy!!
