  1. Man you lost quickly! I am not far as far along as you are and I still don't eat very much at all.

    Partner issues after wls

Pretty much sums it up. Work on "you" first and then start seeking out a relationship. Relationships are stressful if you aren't completely in a good place.

I ate at Burger King yesterday

I hate french fries now! To me they taste awful.

    Partner issues after wls

This is why I am really not actively pursuing any kind of relationship. I wouldn't mind a friends with benefits arrangement, but man, the only commitment I need is that to myself right now; to see this journey to its natural completion at goal weight.

    The basic need

The major upshot of losing the amount of weight that I have is that I am really looking good now, for the first time in a really long time. I am still heavy, but I look really good now. I feel more confident and now I am really freakin' horny. Fapping just isn't doing it for me anymore. It's frustrating! I am supposed to see my surgeon for a follow-up this week and she is major eye candy - more so than her bio picture. It's gonna be bad, she's got to know I am interested because I stare at her legs. She's in her late 20s, unmarried, and no boyfriend. I've got game and part of me wants to see how much of it I got back. Shoot, maybe I'll be just stupid enough to ask her out ... LOL! Got nothing to lose and everything to gain. Plus she's totally my type, she'd look good on my arm. She can work on me any day. I've got a weakness for highly educated, smart women.

LOL, guys! Y'all are too funny.
  7. If I drink water too quickly, I start feeling a really warm sensation ... like I need to turn on the air conditioning. I feel really hot. Is this something that should be concerning? Also, I can no longer tolerate the fake sugar in beverages - they're causing me to run to the bathroom. I am just drinking water and the occasional decaf coffee or decaf unsweetened ice tea. Jeez, this whole process continues to be an evolution and learning rolled into one. I'll be 3 months post-op on Tuesday.
  8. Spoke with the medical pros and they're not alarmed. So long as I am getting my fluids in and there are no issues getting them out, it's just something that may or may not pass.

I ate at Burger King yesterday

Good choice! I actually like that sandwich. I don't touch fries anymore because they actually taste kind of gross. I love a good burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. They are soft, go down easy, and typically last me two meals. I can really only get half of it down.

    The basic need

I am not going to ask her. It would really awkward for her and I don't want to put her in that situation. I can dream though, can't I?

I plan too. Hell, YOLO right!?

    Don't pray for me

I think the overuse of "thoughts and prayers" make it very disingenuous. Politicians use that tired old phrase all of the time and hardly care. Instead of thoughts and prayers, offer solutions!
  13. A lot of the post-op trials and tribulations now seem to be in the rear view mirror. The scale is moving again and I am within inches of being under 3 bills. Whuuuut!? I never thought I would see this. Also, I've got 110 pounds left to lose but this number does not seem nearly so high anymore. I get two really close milestones. The first one is being under 3 bills, then the next is no longer qualifying for surgery.

    Don't pray for me

Wow that's frightening! I am so glad that your daughter was not seriously hurt!

    Don't pray for me

I am an atheist as well but sometimes you have to consider that the intention is one of care and consideration. Life is too short to sweat the small details. As long as the intention of the person is good, then I can easily see the forest for the trees.

    caretaker needs help

This is a tough question to answer because each person's post-op experience is radically different. I was fine for the first 5 weeks and then I developed a stricture and an H. Pylori infection. The next four weeks were utter misery. It was nice simply having someone able to help out with chores like laundry and meal preparation. My best advice is to simply be there for your husband and ask him if there is anything you can do to help and offer help as well. That alone will be the best that you can do. He could have a really smooth ride and be ready to head back to work in two weeks, or it could be a little more drawn out like my recovery. I am just now ready to go back to work and I am planning to go back to driving tractor trailers because work is plentiful. I lined up a gig with Schneider and I start again on July 2nd. Now that I am 63 pounds lighter from my heaviest, I'll bet getting up and down those truck stairs will be SO much easier.
  17. This isn't really a favor. He is kind of a friend anyways, yes? I am surprised he hasn't offered or insisted on visiting you after surgery. Shoot, if it was me I would've insisted.
  18. I was worried when I read the first line of your post. I am glad you have someone that is taking you to and from the hospital. Maybe your roommate will hang around and just visit you after surgery? Maybe ask him?

    Still not complying

In this game there is no should as we all lose at different rates. I was initially depressed because it felt like the weight was coming off slow. Do you know for a fact that you're eating too much? Are you logging? I am in my 12th week and I am still on the plus side of 300. Keep your chin up. At least you have some idea of what you might be doing wrong. Go back to logging just for the purposes of data. :-)
  20. Good morning, everyone. I know I've been gone for a bit but I am doing so much better now. It seems as if I am healing right up. The nausea is completely gone and the only time I get an upset stomach is if I eat too quickly. Alas, this is still something of a learning curve. On the upshot, I am ready to return to work and I am going back to tractor trailer driving because it's the best path to make a decent living given my skill set. On July 3rd, I will be starting for Schneider. It's been a few years since I've been behind the wheel of such a big vehicle so I chose the free training (and I don't have to sign an agreement either) offered by Schneider. The particular driving that I got hired for is all Mid-West lanes dedicated to Home Depot so there is no East Coast and no West Coast. In fact, just four states ... CO, NE, MO, and KS. The job is 3 weeks on/1 week off and they fly me between my home in Philadelphia and Kansas City. All in all not a bad deal.

  21. This is going to sound really freaking weird but I feel like I am in the twilight zone ... like this is all a bad dream I am going (or hoping) to wake up from. I hate food! I mean I fscking hate it! It tastes like saw dust ... I am never hungry and never have a desire to eat. Eating hurts and no one knows really WTF is going on. I mean they think the cause of this is the stomach ulcer but what if all this stuff heals up and I am still messed up? I am down 60 pounds and almost 6" from my heaviest but I could care less. I sleep but it feels like I get none at all. When I wake up even though my stupid CPAP says, "Hey dumbass! You had less than 1 apnea an hour. GTFU!" It's supposed to be really easy to find work because unemployment is low, yet I keep getting turned down for work. At this point, I am like what next?

    Making Lemonade

When life gives you a bag of lemons, grab your Splenda and make some Lemonade. Since I'm down for the count with this pesky ulcer, there's no time like the present to dust off an old hobby of mine, Amateur Radio. I last worked with it almost 7 years ago. I am an FCC licensed General Class HAM radio operator. For anyone that cares, my call sign is KF7SVX. It's time for me to upgrade my license to Extra Class! I spent the past few days on marathon study sessions, despite feeling ill. This is something I've wanted to do for some time as the Extra is the unrestricted license which lets you use all amateur bands. It's very hard and the last time I studied for an exam was 7 years ago. It don't get easier when you get older, ha! Now I'm ready to test on May 24th. It felt so good to have something to provide some discipline. Of course the studying must continue. If it weren't for bariatric surgery, I might never have revisited the hobby. 23. Thank you @Frustr8, @Creekimp13, and @FluffyChix for all the concern and well-wishes. Here is the update. I have a stomach ulcer infected with H. Pylori. This isn't good news because it needs to get treated with a pretty serious course of antibiotics. The upshot is we know what's going on. The downside is that I am looking at 6-8 weeks of antibiotics to fight this little b*stard off. I will also need another endoscopy in a month to make certain that the course of antibiotics is working. H. Pylori is a nasty little phucker ... it has been known to cause stomach cancer according to the Mayo Clinic. It's going to take a bazooka to kill me though. LOL!

    MattyMatt...are you out there?

I don't really know what the future holds. At this point, I hope it is not cancer. I had pretty persistent nausea pre-surgery but never really did anything about it. I think I might be paying for this mistake. Well, Monday I will hopefully learn a few more things. I am sorry to be a Debbie Downer but when the surgeon is worried, I would say that's some cause.

    MattyMatt...are you out there?

Sorry, I just saw this. I'm very sick and the doctors are still figuring it out. It's gotten to the point where most food I'm unable to keep down. I'm weak and tired. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
