I used to shy away from cameras and never took a selfie in my life. My confidence sucked and I refused to look in a mirror.I hated getting dressed up cause everything was uncomfortable. Now I embrace getting dressed up, in fact I tend to overdress at times to events just cause everything fits and looks good on me. My confidence is high and I feel great. One year out last week!!!
My wife went from having the fattest husband out of all the parents to having the damn hottest husband..LOL... (yeah, Im in the vain phase...lol) But shes not complaining much

Today: 6 mon out: 264lbs
Concentrating now on my arms and stomach. I've lost a ton on my legs, starting to look lopsided. I never wanted to be top heavy with bird legs Lol
79lbs total!
Some who have had this surgery are blowing me out of the Water but.. who cares?
Slow and steady wins the race!

Well it has been 1 year and two months. I had gastric sleeve done. I started at 395 and i am down to 260 but I could have lost a lot more. I am riding bike, walking 15,000 steps a day and still lifting weights. I do not take photos well as there is nothing i can do from the neck up. haha...

watsongirl17 reacted to BrodieGL25 in 13 months post op. Success !!!
13 months post op. This saved my life. Everyone asks me if I would do it again. And I would !! It's hard. It's not a magic pill. You have to be ready for a life change. Not just something that will shrink your stomach so you can't eat as much. It's only a tool. As long as you go into it like that, I believe you will be successful. I am 170 lbs down in 13 months and it is life changing.

watsongirl17 reacted to chryss in Before and after, two weeks shy of my 1 year surgiversay
I had gastric bypass w/ gallbladder removal and hiatus hernia repair on June 19th, 2017. I will be traveling the next two weeks and won’t be able to post pics so I didn’t then today.
Surgery weight 276
Current weight 149
The moment I was able to get out of the hospital bed I started walking and literally haven’t stopped. I was able to start running about 3 months after surgery. I have gone more than 2 days without being active. I run about 30 miles a week and do Orangetheory. I took 6 pills a day for my reflux (had been on them since 8 years old), blood pressure and cholesterol medicine. I walked out of Tampa General and haven’t had to take one single pill. My blood pressure is very normal, resting HR is that of a runner and my cholesterol went from 320 to 149 in 4 months.
This was the absolute best thing I’ve ever done. I’m so thankful for this surgery.
Now I just need to save up money for lower body lift. The doctor said I have at least 10 pounds of skin to be removed!

watsongirl17 reacted to NY Lou in 4.5 year update w/pics and im running the boston marathon!
its now been 4.5 years since I was sleeved. my high weight was 323 lbs. my goal weight was low 180's. I did reach goal weight but over the years I realized that my desired goal weight was too low for me. now for the last 2 years ive steadily maintained a weight in the mid 190's and that appears to be where im supposed to be and im happy with that weight. today 10/1/17 I weight 195 lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and my choice of exercise is running. I will also be running the 2018 boston marathon and im so excited about being able to run this historic race! im running it for the jimmy v foundation for cancer research and ive committed to raising $6000 which is no easy task. if any of you have ever been affected by this terrible illness feel free to click the link after this post and make a 100% tax deductible donation to the jimmy v foundation for cancer research. every dollar donated goes to research. you will be supporting my run and a cause that affects everyone as everyone knows someone that has been affected by cancer. as far as my eating, I still have to be very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I can eat much more today than I could 2 years ago but still no where near what I could eat before having the surgery. hope everyone on their journey is doing well and feel free to ask any questions. im also attaching my before pic and a few current pics taken last week. have a great day! heres my donation link for anyone willing to support this wonderful cause: http://jimmyv.convio.net/site/TR/Endurance/General?px=1409952&pg=personal&fr_id=1370

watsongirl17 reacted to Beautfully Flawed in It’s Getting Real!!!
So I received my authorization today , the next step is to consult with surgeon and set the surgery date. Wow😯 , this is all real and now it’s happening fast , I’ve worked really hard in my 24 week classes and lost 31 lbs in the process, but just knowing my life is about to change big time sends little butterflies flying in my stomach , I’ve been really researching and I am now leaning towards the sleeve , I think this will be the best for me , I am 5’7 and currently weighing 305 , my realistic goal is 200 lbs hopefully in 1 year and after that skip that bridge when I get to it. Anyone else looking at a possible surgery in late June of early July , Talk to me 😐
