I’m officially six months post op!

I was very strict on my eating the first 3 mos...now, not so much (I’m going to do better) I do cardio exercises consistently maybe 5 times a week (walking & elliptical). I just started adding weights to my program!

    No i don’t mind at all ...I’m 5’ 7”
  5. I know right ...a few of my family members have called me skinny. I told them they are not allowed to call me skinny, because technically, even if I get to my goal weight of 170 I would still be classified as overweight [emoji23]

    stall in weight loss

I stalled for about three weeks. At first I didn’t care much because I’ve been told and from reading different post here, that there will be stalls. But, I’m happy to report that after five days of eating leaner and four consecutive days at the gym ...I got that scale moving again & was down four lbs this morning!

    RNY November 2017

I am [emoji41] but I am more pleased with the new opportunities that have opened up to me. People who are thin or even ppl who are just a little overweight, can’t really begin to understand what it’s like being obese living in todays society. I have had countless doors closed to me and missed opportunities because of my weight. Now, I feel unstoppable!
  9. That’s what I do now. I don’t want to lie for two reasons (1) I’m a bad liar (2) there maybe someone who was like me, struggling with their weight and pondering having the surgery, and I would gladly answer any of their questions.

  11. I only told my husband, and one of my closest friends. My family is filled with some strong personalities that definitely don’t mind letting you know what’s on their minds [emoji23]. So, I chose to keep my parents, sisters, four daughters and other friends in the dark (like, if I could have gotten away with it I wouldn’t have told my husband [emoji23]). But anyways, it took me some months but I wrote letters to my parents, sisters and daughters that I sent them, via text, the day of my surgery just as the wheeled me into the OR. I know some people may not agree but it was the best thing for me. Luckily, when I woke up from surgery they were all there supporting me [emoji7]

    RNY November 2017

Hi guys! I’m 2 months and one week post op (meant to post last week). Life is still good I’m trying to get used to my now slightly smaller frame [emoji23]. My husband looked at me the other day and said, “you can’t see you’re smaller; because I watch you and you still move like you’re 300lbs and you’re not”. I still have a big girl mind set; it really takes some time to adjust to the change in your body. As for the my diet. I pretty much can eat whatever. I stay away from carbs as best I can. My diet mainly consist of meats and veggies and I try to keep my calorie count under 600/day for now. I recently started back at the gym and it feels good to be back. I’m excited for the new changes in my body that will come about. I’m still overly concerned with excess skin. But I’ve decided I’d much rather deal with excess skin and be able to fit in an airplane seat, than be 350lbs struggling to get out of bed each morning. Lemon water has become my new best friend, and not that stuff you buy at the grocery store either. I’m talking about freshly squeezed lemon juice raw and unfiltered. Get you some! The benefits are incomparable, but more importantly it helps with constipation. HW - 356 SW - 321 CW - 256 GW - 180

    RNY November 2017

Update: Hi guys [emoji1480] ..it’s my almost 5 week post op update! Tomorrow will be week 5 post op and so far so good! I’m tolerating foods well, still fighting to get 60oz of water in, but I’m getting better & stronger each day! Still wearing my support garments, if i get dressed and forget them i feel funny without them! Yes, they are a pain to put on but i feel so much better with them on. I’m excited to get back in the gym next week doc said i can resume workouts after week 6. The weight continues to fall off slowly but i think slow is good since faster weight loss sometimes leads to more excess skin. Anyone have any good recipes they want to share for the holidays? Are you guys finished shopping? How’d our late RNY buddies do? We need updates!!!!!

    Got My Date

I’m super excited that I got my surgery date today! Saw my surgeon last week on Wednesday the 18th, at that time he submitted my paperwork to the insurance company for approval. I was anxious all weekend and expected to hear something by Tuesday, so when I got up and made some phone calls this morning. My first call was to the insurance company and was delighted to find out that they had approved me and had already sent the approval over to my doc. So, immediately I got back on the phone and called over to the Drs office and they set me up with a date for November 7th. It just seems so surreal!!
