I have a friend who had her surgery at Methodist and had good results. Must be exciting that it’s finally almost here! I’m Megan from St. Paul. I’ll be having my surgery at United hospital probably April or May. It’s great to “meet “ others from Minnesota/ Twin Cities!

That’s what mine is - 10. I’m a carb fiend and need to avoid chips, breads, etc. Bringing lunch to work will help as well as stopping the fast food. Time to look for good things to replace the bad carbs.

I too have to get my A1c down - ugh...going to be a challenge for sure. All the Halloween candy around at work isn’t helping.

My insurance requires 6 mos of monthly dietitian visits, psych visit and exercise plan so I can relate. Maybe try just getting through one day at a time and visualize how awesome you’re gonna look in 4 mos. 😊 hang in there!
  14. Did you have anyone to help you once you got home? Have you tried eating cottage cheese or soup?
  15. Oh no! That doesn’t seem ok! Does your surgeon know?
  16. Hi- I understand your nerves! When I think about what a major change this is going to be I get nervous too. Try to sleep- everything will be fine this time tomorrow!! Your surgeon is a pro. Smooth sailing. Take care! Good luck- sending good vibes.
  17. Just a few days ago! How are you doing??
  18. Thanks for that perspective. I appreciate you sharing your experiences. 😊
  19. I just noticed that your surgery is today! I am thinking of you and hope all goes well Megan
  20. Good to know. I am pretty strong usually, able to stop those reflexes but this could change with the surgery. I am keeping a positive attitude. Thanks! Megan
  21. Thanks for the tip! I will go to YouTube and watch these. Megan
  22. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I had anesthesia 2x before and did fine so I’m hoping it’s the same this time. It’s great to hear positive things about the surgery!! I go between nervous and excited, depending on the moment.
