How often do you throw up?

Are you serious!? Omg that’s terrifying!

    Had my endoscopy today!

Just deep breathe... Once you get the anesthesia you’ll be out in seconds and won’t remember anything. I have stomach issues so I’ve been there. I was sooo scared but got through it no problem. You’re gonna do great!

    Minnesota?

That’s great!! You can now see the light at the end of the tunnel! Where are you traveling to?

    Regain while traveling for work

Sounds like a great company! Mine tries that too but my annoying co- workers bring junk food in all the time. Once this MN weather moves into spring I can walk at work to avoid the lunches with the junk eaters😊

How often do you throw up?

Thank you!! I also have that phobia...it is pretty debilitating at times. It is nice to hear someone else knows exactly what I experience!
  8. Congratulations on getting your surgery date!! So exciting!

    Minnesota?

Saint Paul here! I am still on my pre-op appointments; Surgery will be May or June. Having surgery at United or Abbott-my surgeon goes to both. Welcome!! Hi all Minnesotans! Megan
  11. Hi MNgirl, I’m in MN too😊. Where will you have your surgery? I’m going to United in St. Paul or Abbott Northwestern in Mpls, depending on which site can schedule me for surgery with Dr. Svendsen the soonest. I have 2 appts left with the dietitian and the psych appt left. Hope you hear from your doctor soon! Megan
  12. Such great insight!! Thank you so much! I am trying (lately) to have all the meals "I won't be able to have anymore"... Need to focus on the power of food and how to change my views.
  13. I am doing the EXACT same thing! I've got to get a grip!

    I'm new!

Hi and welcome!! I’m on my 4th of 6 visits next week with the dietitian and my psych appt is in March. If all goes well I think my surgery should be mid to late May so not too far off from yours. My surgeon recommended the roux n Y for me because of my comorbidities (diabetes, sleep apnea, PCOS and high cholesterol). I’ve been thinking about the eating super slowly and the dime sized bites too and it truly will take me some determination to accomplish this! I better practice too!! Well just wanted to say hi and welcome! Megan
  15. Thanks so much for this post! I hope you are doing well! Is it just water you can have at first? Why was it difficult to drink at first?
  16. You have been through WAY too much crap at that hospital! I work at a hospital system and you absolutely need to let the patient rep and administrators know what you went through. It sounds awful!! I hope you’re doing much better. Take care of yourself! Megan

    Rny scheduled for 11-27-17

I’m just beginning this process but my friend had hers done 2 months ago. I visited her in the hospital. She did great- stayed home 2 weeks- no pain or sickness. Everyone is so different so it will be kinda a wait and see game to see how you feel. I wish you the best of luck!!
  18. Hi! I’ve been using a CPAP for 5 years now and l am totally used to it. I use a mask but the nose piece is barely bigger than my nose and It has a humidifier option too which is nice in the winter. Is it getting any better? Megan in MN
  19. Hope you’re feeling better! Did your surgeon’s office have any suggestions?
  20. Hi all, I am just starting this process. I see the surgeon and team for first time on 12/19. I have a terrible fear of vomiting- I get panic attacks when I feel like I may get sick. Both people I know that have had gastric bypass have to throw up at least once a week. This is the only thing that scares me about surgery- I’m leaning towards the sleeve. I need to mentally prepare for this if I’m going to have to deal with the “v” on a regular basis. Any thoughts or advice? thanks!! Megan
  21. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! This makes me feel so much better about the surgery.

    Twin Cities area sleevers

I am but it is so far off yet for me that I don’t want to get super excited yet in case something goes wrong with the approval process. I see the surgeon, nurse and dietitian on Nov. 28th. Which surgeon did you choose? I chose Svensen. Hope I chose wisely!
  23. Thanks for the input! How’s everything else going post op? Happy you did it?
  24. There are vitamin patches now and a brand of vitamins that melt in your mouth and taste good called vitamelts. Maybe those are some alternatives. 😊
