  1. Hi, I am 11 days post op. I’m from Gallatin, TN, but now I live in Atlanta. I was sleeved 10/29/18. I’ve only lost 11 pounds and I’ve been having all kinds of thoughts running through my head. I just hope that I have as much success as all of the stories I’ve read on this site. I guess I just need to trust the process. Good luck on your journey!
  2. The pain is manageable. I made 3 days of hydrocodone stretch 6 days. Since then I used liquid Tylenol day 7 through 9. I am 10 days post op today, no pain meds. Incision pain is not bad until you move in a position that makes the large incision uncomfortable. Gas pain was by far the worst. Start taking miralax when you get home. The first BM was a bad experience for me. I should have been taking miralax starting on day 2. Warm showers help. It gets easier each day. The first 3 days were the most uncomfortable.
  3. I am 8 days post op. Please help me! The gas and bloating is so uncomfortable. My stomach is hard and feels tight. I had my first BM yesterday and I have added Miralax. Any suggestions, is this normal?
  4. Everyone’s body is different, try focusing on recovery instead of weight loss. By the any pounds lost is great. I am day 4 post op and I have lost 4 pounds. I had a dr appointment today, has it not been for the visit I wouldn’t be on the scale yet. I feel like I just need to focus on one thing at a time. Best wishes!!
  5. I am 3 days post op. I stayed in the hospital one night. The first two days were tough. I couldn’t keep anything down. Day 3 has been a lot better. I’ve had 1 premier protein shAke, I premier protein water. 10 oz plain water, a cup of ice and 1cup poweraid zero. It feels like it’s taken all day to get that down and I am going to start in my second shake. Any suggestions for gas pain? Did anyone use an abdominal binder? When walking my stomach is in a lot of pain.
  6. I totally understand how you feel. I’m facing the same challenge; therefore, I’m only sharing my journey with my husband. My surgery date is 10/29 also. Wishing the best for you, good luck!!
  7. Thanks!! I will try increasing my protein to see if that helps.
  8. I’m on day 3 of my pre-op liquid diet. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be, but today I’ve felt light headed and nauseous. Has anyone experienced this during your pre-op diet? Any tips for getting through the next two weeks? HW - 232 CW - 232 GW - 145

  14. Has anyone been through Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Bariatric program? I’m scheduled for surgery 10/29. I’m looking for experiences with this provider.
  15. I’m looking for October 2018 sleevers to share stories and best practices. This has been a long journey and I’m so excited to finally get towards the end. I started in the Bariatric program, September 2017. I completed all pre-surgery requirements and was scheduled for surgery 1/26/18. I was going through this journey with my mother in law. She had sleeve surgery 12/14/17 and passed away one week later on 12/21/17. This was a huge setback for me and at this point my husband was no longer supportive of the surgery. This resulted in my surgery being cancelled. It has taken time for my family to put the pieces back together. I have had so many ups and downs over the past few months and became discouraged and depressed. My husband is no onboard and has been a big support to me lately. I reentered the bariatric program on 7/26/17. I am tentatively scheduled for surgery on 10/29/18. I have an appointment with a Pulmonologist Monday to be cleared for surgery. I am very happy and am looking forward to a successful journey.
  16. I find myself in the same situation. I began this journey 9/5/17, surgery was scheduled for 1/26/18. My mother in law had vsg 12/14/18 and passed away one week later. My husband is now totally against surgery. I have tried to give him time to heal, but he is still not onboard. I have gained 20 lbs since December. I have an appointment with my doctor Thursday to get back in the program. I saw all of that to encourage you to put yourself first. I’ve had to make this decision to put myself first or I will not be good for myself or my family. It is hard not having a support system, I’m just trying to focus on the positivity that it will bring to myself and family.
  17. Thank you! Yes, she was at home and walking daily. She was on blood thinners. I pray everything goes well with your surgery. I have an appointment with my doctor next week to discuss my concerns.
  18. Thanks so much, maybe you are right. I will table it for now. She did have more comorbidities. She died from a blood clot. I appreciate the encouraging words.
  19. I have been so excited throughout this journey and finally received my surgery date, 1/24. My mother in law and I have been through the process together. My mother in law had vsg 12/14/17 and passed away 12/21/17. I don’t know if I should cancel my surgery. My husband is no longer supporting me after this terrible incident. Any advice or encouraging words are appreciated.

  21. Congratulations! I had my consult 9/5/17 and endoscopy 10/3/17. The process was painless. I had a slight sore throat for a few hours after the procedure.
