Hi , I now have Meritain health on the Aetna network. Does anyone know what the requirements are ? I'm well into the phase of all the specialist appts, etc. I hope the requirements will be the same or better than my previous insurance! Hello, I'm still in the 6 months pre op stage. I will be having gastric sleeve surgery .I am currently trying to stick to my pre op diet. I was not required to lose weight, but it was recommended just to shrink my liver for surgery. It will probably be 3 or 4 months before I have surgery. I don't have a date yet. Well, I find myself getting frustrated with my husband as he eats anything he wants to. He will bring home pastries, chips, pies, etc. It is so very hard for me to stay on track with him bringing these home. However, I feel like it's selfish of me to request him not bring them home anymore. Just because I've changed my eating, he shouldn't have to. Does anyone else have this issue? Hello, I just found out that my husband's employer is switching to Meritain health insurance. Does anyone else have this insurance? What are their requirements for gastric sleeve? So, today begins my 6 month journey to getting a gastric sleeve.I had my consult with the surgeon today. That went well. I found out everything that is required of me,and it's a lot! One of the things I have to do is have an endoscopy. Did anyone else have to do this? Is it painful? Another thing I have to do is a barium swallow test. Whats that like?
