  10. I can't eat an entire children's meal in one sitting... I'm almost 3 months out... I find that my restriction varies from day to day.. Today, I ate half a sandwich for Breakfast, the other half for lunch and some cheetos (I feel bad about them.. ;( .. I will make a better dinner choice)... My friend always complains that I'm not eating enough and that I should force myself to eat, it's all in my head, etc.... I told her to stop or we won't be dining together any longer...

  14. I'm a high school teacher.. I took 6 weeks off... Mainly because my job is stressful and i have to move computers, books, take stairs, etc. I would at least take 3 days or so off, just to make sure you're able to get your fluids down w/o issues.
  15. Congrats on an awesome job!!!!! I can hardly wait!!!!!
  16. I usually get an appetizer as my meal or my friends and I get an entree and a few sides and I get a small plate of whatever I want.. One of the waiter's at my fave restaurant (the Grand Lux Cafe) was concerned because I left most of my appetizer/entree on my plate.. I assured him I was good, the food was great and that I was saving room for dessert.. Which I was.. 1 chocolate chip pecan cookie!! As far as the anxiety when dining w/ family and friends... I try and take my time and eat very slowly, engage in lively conversation and try to actually have a good dining experience... I totally understand though... I hope you find something that works for you, so you can be less frustrated....
  17. Awesome job and beautiful post!!!! You look wonderful! Congrats!!!
  18. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks... when I'm drinking enough water, I have to make myself stick to my eating schedule... It works!! My blood sugar drops quickly when I go longer than 3 hours between meals..

  23. I decided to use my 600th post in VST to shout out my awesome and supportive WLS team at the Midwest Bariatric Institute of Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, IL...My surgeon was Gerald Cahill and my WL specialist was Kidanu Birhanu... I'm a very "particular" person about everything!! But, when I email Tony Romeo the program coordinator for info and he told me about the requirements for my insurance... I knew I was making the right decision.. Everyone, from the dietician to the personal trainer to the psychologist handled my questions and requests with professionalism and care... Dr. Birhanu was amazing and even though he sees hundreds of bariatric patients, he makes me feel that I am one of his only ones!!! Last night I attended an event that my surgeon's office began hosting 8 years ago. The Celebration of Life Dinner/Dance was an amazing opportunity for me to see people who were among their first patients 11 years ago... I feel so blessed and encouraged with people who saw me a month at my 1st support group meeting walked up and encouraged me and complimented me on my weight loss.. They also reminding me that this is a journey, not a race!!! Just wanted to brag about the awesome people who take such good care of me!!!! Love and hugs!!!
