  1. I was banded in 2007 starting weight 360 lost 160 lbs by being very strict and hard work. I've had nothing but trouble this last year can't eat vomiting all the time chest pain and just can't stand it anymore this is not a way to live. Started eating slider foods and gained 40 lbs my doctor suggested the sleeve and my ins just added it to are policy so iam all set for June 12. Can't wait to not have this pain in chest everytime I eat

My advice to everyone is you can succeed in weight loss surgery just be patient and positive and look at your future being healthier

  2. Had the band done 6 years ago. Lost 160 lbs but had nothing but issues with vomiting.nausea. and unable to eat. My insurance now pays for sleeve and its all approved I am excited for the surgery and hopefully no more vomiting.

the vomiting with band was from anything even liquid I think my body bated the band.

I tell people the band like any weightloss surgery is a tool follow the rules and be strong

  3. I am 4 years out from Surgery I lost 160 lbs and kept if off till this last 6 months. I had issues with my band so they took out saline and I was always hungry so like in the pst I ate. I have gained 30 lbs and not happy with myself. I see my doc on Monday to discuss my issues and get a fill and get back on track. I joined the gym and plan to start working out again. Its a tough road loosing weight and I remind myself the band is only a tool to help me out.

Good luck to all of you and this is a great support group

  4. Hey guys. I just got my third fill yesterday. He put in 1 cc, so I'm up to 3.4 cc's. He told me to gulp the Water.. so I did. It didn't feel to bad, but after I left, I had the feeling I needed to throw up. So I didn't drink anything for a few hours. Then I drank a few tiny sips of some juice, hoping it would make me feel better... Well, about an hour later I threw up foam. I didn't want to try anything else for a while, just in case. Then I started slowly sipping some lemonade, and that seemed to go down fine. Well, last night, I felt like I couldn't lay all the way down... I just had a feeling, I'm not sure how to explain it, just felt like i was going to throw up so I used a huge pillow that propped me up. Well all through out the night I kept waking up coughing just as soon as I fell asleep. I felt like I was throwing up, not realizing it and it would go down my trachea. It hasn't happened since I've been awake, and I haven't drank anything more out of fear than anything. I'm not sure if this is an overfill or what. anyone had the same issues? I'll call my doc as soon as they open... I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas? Or is it just the swelling of my stomach?

Im in the same boat have 7 cc in a 10 CC band cant eat more than 5 bites and want to vomit. Its awful I am going Monday to get some Fluid out. I have been overfilled before and trust me you DONT want to be overfilled its very painful and not the way the band should word:closedeyes:

  5. Single girls,

At what size do you feel most comfortable dating? I understand that many of you don't relate size and dating, but for those of you who do, at what dress size do you feel most comfortable going on a date? I'd do a poll, but I don't know how. If somebody does, please feel free to go ahead.

    Thanks!

    8,10,12,14,16,18

Size should not matter- sorry just my opinion

  6. Hi LAP-BAND® mom - I have the same problem - I got banded a year ago and have only lost 12 pounds!! Doc says I'm a slow loser - yeah right - I'm pretty much full at my band. I haven't gone to the doctor in 3 mos tired of paying money for nothing. I could lose 12 pounds on weight watchers - what did I need this band for?? I eat much less than before but pounds don't come off. And no, I'm not drinking my calories (ie shakes, ice cream, candies etc) I've been to an endocrinologist everything is normal. I'm 48 and I guess that doesn't help but at this point, I would have been better off going to a fat farm for a year - than having surgery!

12 pounds that is not good, do you have restriction? maybe you should get checked by

    another doc this isnt good

  7. I am ready for summer. Every year I am miserable when I go on vacation with my family. Cute summer clothes did not fit and all I wanted to do was stay in the condo. Talking about spoiling the fun for everyone. My husband and daughters enjoyed so many actvities without me. This year will be different. Losing weight has lifted my self esteem. I am ready to enjoy all that life has to offer. I am challenging myself to lose 10 more pounds before the end of June. I slacked on my exercise and still managed to lose 18 pounds in 2 months. Now I am highly motivated and will not use the excuse of being too tired to skip my workouts.

    Come join me.

My goal is 40 miles for May.

I am there with you so what is the challenge?
