Sleeping in my bed last night, was the best feeling, aside from showering! I'm on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks. My Dr. Takes a super conservative approach. Good luck with going back to work. Once you start adding Protein I'm sure your energy levels will increase.

Reporting back...I was sleeved on Friday ,11/17- spent 2 nights in the hospital (dr. protocol). Once I got to my room (around 12noon) I wasn't allowed to have any liquid (again dr. protocol). I was a miserable mess. Hungry and terrible air/gas pain that settled in my upper left shoulder/back. Once I started walking the pain subsided. Day 1, Saturday post op I was allowed to start my liquids. I increased my walking and almost all of the gas pain subsided. Here I am day 2 post op, Sunday) I am feeling great. I am home resting, drinkings fluids and getting up to walk around the house. I do have slight pain around the incision sites. Bending over is a no no,and getting up from a chair hurts too.
I hope everyone in the coming week and rest of November has a smooth surgery and recovery!

My surgery was 11/21 I had nausea for the first 3 days and could only keep things down when on anti nausea meds. Yesterday was the first day I got close to to my 64 oz and was able to drink a whole Protein Drink, today I woke up hungry for the first time. Everyday is getting better. My 7 day clear diet ends on the 29th, I would kill for a tiny bowl of cream Soup

    Have a great day!

I've been scrolling this the forum for the last week, before I scheduled my surgery day. It has been very encouraging and supportive to read through all of the stages people are in. I will be here, be sure to reach out to me

Op - Try to not weigh till you go for your first check up you will be surprised. Just focus on doing what your doing and you will be fine. I would even hold off weighing for 2 weeks allow your body to settle down.

I am right there with you. I also had my surgery on Friday morning. I will be going home tomorrow & cant wait to sleep in my own bed. Pain has been minimal, controlled with Tylenol. I have been able to get my fluids in - broth, popsicles, Water, Gatorade, diluted juice, etc... I can start adding in Protein Shakes, yogurt and milk starting Tuesday, hopefully that will help with lack of energy. I will be going back to work on the 27th.
Hoping everyone else is healing well, and good luck to upcoming surgeries!!

Sorry you had to go so long without liquids. I had surgery on 11/17 and was drinking the little medicine cups of Water shortly thereafter. I only had a short bought of gas pain. I have a lot of pain at the large incision site, but I have been lucky otherwise. Glad you are doing better.

Leese_A_New_Life got a reaction from FluffyChix in Pseudotumor cerebri, has anyone been approved for surgery for having this?
I used to be on 250mg of Diamox 2x daily. The side effects were terrible- tingling in hands and feet, and extreeeeeeme fatigue. It was the only thing that helped my headaches though. I suffered through the side effects. I had a swollen optic nerve and the docs were fearful of blindness. I didn't have a choice but to take the meds, I did not want to go blind. Diamox is not an end all. I also have Hashimotos diseas and PCOS which makes losing weight at a snail's pace. I hope you can sort everything out and get approved.

I have pseudotumor cerebri also. My BMI qualified me, but I would suggest having your neurologist write a letter of support so your surgeons office could submit that along with other qualifying documents.
    Good luck!

This is exactly how I am feeling! I'm glad I am not alone. I am definitely going to have the surgery, because I know I deserve to be happy and healthy (and look good). It is just getting over these initial feelings. I'm sure we will do great and will be successful, but I know how you feel! Good luck. I'm going in on 11/17!
