I am just the opposite, I weigh myself daily to keep on track. 1 year out, down 85.5 lbs. Goal was 120, I am down to 115lbs at 5'2". Couldn't be any happier [emoji4]

That’s awesome. You must’ve started at a lower weight? I’m 5’2 140.. goal is 120.. started at 250 / ten months ago. But I’m now on plateau .. needing to push harder to get down.

    I get it :)

I do spend more on groceries, more produce and Protein Powder, bars, etc. aren't cheap. But I spend a lot less on dining out and home delivery. Net net, I'm sure I spend less overall. I wasted a lot of money in the beginning with liquids, pureed, soft foods I stocked up on but didn't eat. Also I wasted money on Protein products that I couldn't stand the taste of. So buy as small of quantities as possible to avoid waste.

One savings is on clothes, after you replace your wardrobe of course. Regular size clothes are cheaper than plus size. Plus there are a lot more options, easier to bargain hunt.

You nailed it. I agree completely.

Except the most expensive types ... Voss, alkaline, etc... What's up with that?!?! Did I get the celebrity model sleeve? Lol

Voss is regular in our home and when I can find it- I get Diamond water! He likes Evian too. But yeah anything bottled and weird looking from Whole Foods we have. Lol.

  4. I love this convo! I never had pre-op diet. I also now eat Anything I want , so long it’s counted in my calories. 75% of the time being “ clean” foods. Still haven’t drank alcohol simply because I don’t usually enjoy it- but I smoke pot often... I smile clean dabs from a vape. 1 small Hit and I’m toasted. It does cause major munchies in which I try to control. I don’t drink diet soda because I’m terrified of “ stretching “ my pouch ... afraid to eat and drink more new foods that won’t make me sick- because I’ll crave them all the time. I love Water but also drink tea and coffee. Cream and stevia. Yay.

And let me just throw this out there.... stay vigilant. In the first year I could totally have eaten a small amount of cheezits and not have them be a slider and still lose. But things change. They may not for you, but be aware that they might. Or whatever YOUR cheezits are. Everyone’s are different.

When you’re five years out you may have a different perspective.
Yeah- I agree. I don’t consider myself a true food addict at all though. So I can have all kinds of “ addictive or forbidden” foods at the moment moderately and feel satisfied without it bothering me wanting to go crazy ... but I definitely have had my triggers and worked on controlling it.. I don’t consider myself successful in this journey if I cannot control portions. I still cannot even digest most foods- so I’m still in the clear. But yeah- I do realize That years down the road I may be able to eat much more and have issues if I always eat snack foods. Thanks for the heads up that they may change.

I had my first wreck today on the way to work. 6 am and I smack a deer and air bag hit me straight in the stomach. Everything is okay but was terrified I screwed my stomach up.
I’m so glad you’re okay honey. More glad you have great support.

  7. I occasionally eat a small side of rice from Taco Bell. It’s a tiny portion and less than 140 cals. I eat with a half side of steak or some protein.. I never even finish the little portion... don’t feel bad as long as your portions are tiny. I get stuffed. My doc only told me to count calories not eliminated foods. 10 months out- down 106lbs...

  8. 10 months out and I cannot live without a form of GAS X!!!!! Target brand is only 2.50$ a box instead of 8-10$ I was in the hospital for 2 nights from not being able to move and so much pain... I sadly didn’t pack much. Lip balm, socks, lotion. Anything else I was in too much pain to notice...

I've never wanted him to change for this process. He shouldn't have to give up anything just because I have temptation issues. Of course, I cook healthier now, and I don't make separate meals by any means for him. But I will make him a baked potato or rice as a side. And I still make muffins and brownies on the weekends for him. I've done a good job learning that we are different, and he can eat whatever he wants, and I can't.

Same with me and my boyfriend.

I have found that I really love a little snack now and then that is not too heavy. I bought a 36 pack box of Cheeze Its on Amazon and they are the perfect size to just give me a little bit of pleasure to my tongue. Anyone else love Cheeze It?

Hell yes to 100 calories worth of cheez- it’s . I was eating them daily and still lost my 110lbs .... I’m not a Nazi with carbs and such. Being like that only harms my mental state... not a way to solve the issue. I have stopped buying them for now. Now I eat that amount in popcorn.

  11. I have to say- I have extra skin everywhere.. not in my neck or anything... but also considering how much I’ve lost- it could be far worse. I’m getting full body plastics done next year. Until then/ luckily it’s “ tuckable” my jeggings and pants hide it mostly. Arms aren’t too crazy. Legs are thinner and shapely- but I have lots of upper thigh skin and lower butt skin...

  12. No idea why people seem to take your post the wrong way.... to answer your question- I lost 15lbs my first week, and 45 my first month ... each month less and less after 6-7months... now at 10month and 105lbs less I’m 5’2 145lbs. On a long plateau and it is what it is... I’ll push harder. You’re doing great and good luck on this wild ride .

Yeah I would cut the sweets and we if it helps, you should know fairly quickly.
Makes sense. When I’m on my period I tend to give zero F%%ks. But I definitely would love to get out of this weight range - so I need to push harder. It’s a battle. Yes I get full super fast- but the more things I can now digest, the more tempting it is to eat foods that aren’t nutritious.. I do have cravings, but notice them gone the longer I can go without those junky foods...

  14. Okay - good to know. I was never told to see a NUT.. since I was losing so fast as is.. I only eat strawberries- but I definitely have been eating sweet treats. I count those calories in my day- but it’s likely why I’m stalling.... eating junk in small quantities can hurt too I guess

  15. Oh darling... I’m so sorry for all you’ve gone through.. sounds like things are great with the wedding and new job! Keep your head up- as you haven’t gained that much.. I wouldn’t personally do carb cutting or anything that you can’t stick to- but find a high Fiber balanced plan.. drink lots of water- and if you’re not- get therapy and spend time doing things that make you feel calm and happy. You’re worth it and life is about more than our weight.. YOU got this! You’re in control. When I’m feeling low- I turn to long walks, good music, good movies, fruit, etc... I’m sorry your mom was nasty toward you... I can relate. ( sisters) I wish you the best.
