That's been one of the many reasons why I'm still single, I will not settle for anyone who doesn't love me the way I love me. lol Somedays I still struggle with that but it gets easier every day. Thank you for your words! <3

Haha aint that the truth, I am talking to one guy who seems very interested in talking about my surgery as if he's writing a paper on the subject matter or something, it was super embarrassing because we went out for our first date and he starts asking me about the surgery and what happens if I end up with lose skin. I wasn't used to someone asking so many questions about it beyond the dreaded "why would you do something so drastic when all you need to do is go to the gym" because clearly WLS is the "easy" way out. I'm not worried about finding anything yet, right now I am 100% focused on me.

I don't know about the rest of you but we live in a world where finding love means swiping right and hoping for the best.
Hello I'm Stephanie, I'm 26 years old. I'm new to the site and would love to make some friends, text buddies, or pen pals.
So I'm what you would call Terminally Single, been that way for about 7 years now and I'm not sure it's ever going to change. It feels like the guys I'm into either A. don't want to be with a fat girl. B. are emotionally stunted, C. into weird fetishes (foodie/feeder I know I'm fat but that doesn't get my jollys off.) or D. Crazy, bat **** crazy.
Maybe I'm too picky, maybe I'm the crazy one, but I found it interesting to find this type of forum on this site. Color me intrigued!

StephersSweet got a reaction from Tarno3 in Highland Hospital Rochester NY = AMAZING
So I'm still in the beginning of my process.
I attended the seminar in June, took the summer to REALLY think about it and then the last week in august I started the journey officially. I had the nutrition seminar on September 11th, the physical on the 19th, Ultrasound yesterday, psych eval is scheduled for late October, nutrition 1:1 is scheduled on October 10th, sleep study in early November. I'm only required to have 2 1:1 nutrition appointments, and I need to lose 5% of my body weight which I've already accomplished. So far everyone I've met at my appointments have been amazing, not a single person has treated me how I expected, I had this fear in the back of my mind that this was going to be like fat camp where all the fit counselors are only interested in judging you for making bad life decisions. I can not recommend this hospital enough if you're in Rochester and are thinking about getting bariatric surgery!!! I'll post a reply on this once I have my 1:1 with Dr Johnson with a review about him!

I want to make it clear that I came to this decision knowing full well that no matter what there's going to be loose skin, I had just heard that body toning exercises can help. I'm seeing the trainer either way because I want a work out plan that works well for me, I probably won't tell him about the WLS and I'll probably only go until my surgery and then use what I've learned at my own gym by myself.

Before I had the surgery, I would tell some people I met on dating sites and they would tell me, "Oh you don't need it! You're beautiful all ready!" I just wanted to reach through my computer and strangle them. Dude, I didn't have the surgery to be "more beautiful," I had it so I could have my life back, do the things I want to do, and not worry about dying before my 40th birthday.

I started working with my trainer pre-op. I interviewed a few and told them what was planned because it was going to affect my workout routine (lifting limitations for a few weeks post-surgery). Any of them that seemed skeptical or dismissive of surgery were immediately thanked for their time and told good bye. If I'm paying you, we need to be on the same page.
I worked with my trainer until August of this year (1 full year) when she moved to go to graduate school. I have a new guy who knows the drill, but I'm in much different shape now than I was then.
Just remember - you are paying them, so you are the boss.

If she's anything like my supervisor she'll be a chatty cathy and the whole office will already know.
One thing I love about my supervisor is how supportive she's been which is another reason I don't mind that she told other people because now upper management knows and they can't punish me for taking excessive time off for all of these pre op appointments. Also she wants to be my personal cheerleader and work out buddy so that's pretty cool.

When I hit my goal weight, I am going to plan a trip to an amusement park with my daughter and ride every ride! We all have season tickets to Six Flags Fiesta TX in San Antonio, but I always sit out while she rides with friends. Have taken the walk of shame too many times to count. I am sure that I can pretty much ride anything that I want now, but I am going to wait anyway. I think we will hit up Holiday in the Park in December. I should be at goal before then the way I am going now.
As far as food, I won't reward myself. I already eat anything and everything that I want. I made a promise to myself that after surgery, I was going to eat what I wanted and not diet any longer. Now that I am a little further out, I do that although I must admit.....I don't crave many things that are bad for me. I do crave veggies though, all of the time. All kinds. So far, I haven't craved sweets, so that's a big plus.
Oh yeah....A wardrobe shopping spree! I am already running out of clothes. Everything that I own is baggy on me, and I have gotten rid of 2/3's of my wardrobe already. It will be nice to wear something a bit more fitted and not saggy.

I was surprised to learn that my surgeon has us work with the physical therapy unit (both same hospital -- same building, even!) both pre- and post-surgery. Insurance covers it.
Its a bummer about the skin, but are young and that should work in your favor :-)

I’m down 135 pounds. My heaviest was 323 pounds and I’m sitting at 188 right now. I still have a lot of fat to lose and I do have some loose skin. I have been working with a personal trainer for the last 3 months. I think working out does help with the appearance of loose skin. I definitely can see more tone and definition in my body and less of the hanging skin. The skin is still there and probably will always be but at least you can see my hard work under it.
