  1. Congratulations! Welcome to the club. I agree with everyone above, work on your Protein intake. I personally take B12 (liquid form) which is supposed to help with energy. But personally, I feel more energetic after exercising and showering. Since you are still recovering, try just going on a morning walk right after waking up.

I didn’t gain any weight during our shut down & even though things are pretty much back to usual here, my work hasn’t reopened yet (so I’ve been at home since March). I’m not a gym person but I have a treadmill - not that I use it often Lol. I’ve just been very routine in what I eat & when I eat. The routine makes me feel in control which can be soothing in stressful times. Plus I didn’t buy any ‘treat’ foods so I couldn’t be tempted to eat them. Yep, I’ve been pretty strict & I admit it is easier to do because I live alone but I know my weaknesses. Go back to your pre covid diet. Take it day by day. Find ways to be active like go for a walk, use stairs, etc.

You’ll get back on track. You can do this.

    Thank you!

I'm trying to get back to my pre-covid food habits. My siblings are attending college from home so the pantry is full on unhealthy Snacks 🤢 and I find it hard not to give in sometimes. I think I'm gonna have to give in and buy my own snacks from the bariaticpal store to sooth the cravings 😭

  3. I love yogurt and have tried close to every brand out there. My favorite is Two Good yogurt. They are only 80 calories per cup, 2 grams of sugar, and 12 grams of Protein so they are very filling. They are not as sweet as Chobani and not as bitter as plain non-fat Greek yogurt. Its a nice in-between. I highly recommend you check it out.

  4. Did you guys gain weight during quarantine? If so, what are you doing to lose it?

Pre-quarantine my weight was at 153 lbs. I was at the weight for about a year and was having a really hard time bringing it down! During the 6 months of quarantine, I gained about 7 lbs since the gyms were closed and I'm really bad at working out from home.

Since I was already having a hard time dropping from 153 lbs, I'm afraid I'm going to get stuck at 160 lbs. I know it doesn't sound so bad, but I am 5'1 so the extra 7 lbs really show! When I gain weight, it's evident in my arms and my chest area, so although my jeans fit just fine, my Medium shirts are too tight!!!

  5. I’m January 30th and I’m starting my liquid diet today. My pre-op class is scheduled for tomorrow.

What are your instructions for liquid diet?

I have to keep my calorie intake at 900 calories. I can have up to 5 Protein Shakes a day, cream Soups, and for the first week I can have 1 salad (lettuce, celery, and cucumber) a day. It doesn’t sound so bad but I’m dying! I can’t drink coffee or black tea!! What’s yours like?

  6. I've got a question. I am very allergic to chocolate, this may sound dumb but give me some alternate flavors of Protein drinks you either liked or at least hated least.

Have you tried Premier Protein shakes? They have a ton of different flavors. My favorite one right now is Salted Caramel. They also have vanillas, strawberry and banana. You can get these at Sam’s Club for cheap (they are very expensive everywhere else).

  7. Hello! This is also my first post and I feel the same exact way. I can't wait to be able to look at my 'After' picture and pat my self in the back for having come all this way. When I first considered the surgery, I couldn't help but wonder what my friends and family were going to say. I kept thinking they would complain about how i'm "taking the easy way out" or that I'll never actually succeed with this. I think the best thing to do at this stage is to engage in conversation with friends and family about the journey we are about to embark in. For me, it took my first appointment with my surgeon and the psychologist to realize its completely okay to talk openly about my weight. I think at this point a good support team is what makes that 'After' picture an attainable goal.
