I wanted those who were being discouraged about their weight loss to see what the average person who is following all rules should be losing and have a good idea of what they will lose in the next year. This is absolutely accurate for me, i was 244 and now im 207. So right on target!

i fell into that category of "complaining" as u call it. but in reality I was being doubtful that I wasnt doing something correct or wondering what the normal is. Im not an expert at this type of surgery and everyone is different. I more so am trying to figure out "MY" normal. so I have come on various threads here "complaining" that my weight loss is slow in the beginning and some seasoned "losers" have given me pretty good advice. Im a little over 3 months post op vsg and 75# down and Im not freaking out anymore when I have a stall for 2-3 weeks. I dont use my scale as Gospel anymore but a guide. I look at all the NSVs and feel good about myself. This is a learning process both mentally and physically.

I was simply trying to tell those who were worried about their weight loss progress to be happy about it. Not trying to turn this into a debate about individuals and there weight loss, again if you read the thread it simply states everyone is diffrent. Just want some people to appreciate the loss, not feeling bad about it!

Because we have lost the same amount of weight and I️ am a 100 pounds heavier than you which means I️ should be losing more at a faster pace. You can not compare your weight loss to someone who is heavier than you.

First of all im not comparing myself to anyone!! Dont need to, I'm happy. All i was trying to say is be happy that you are losing and appreciate it. Of course everyone is diffrent, no one should try to compare themselves to others. We all have our own personal journeys at our own pace, i just own mine and absolutely appreciate each pound gone no matter how long it takes.

  4. Ok, so i really like this site but......... why are so many people complaining about loosing weight of 30-40 lbs in just a little over 2 months? I dont understand! When was the last time you lost that kind of weight. My surgery day weight was 244, today its 209. Thats 35lbs and im super, excited, happy!!!!! I feel wonderful, not discouraged or wondering if im loosing slow or not. All that matters is im loosing, so be happy !!!! If you read everyones weight loss on this paticular forum you will see your not losing slowly at all, if anything a little more or about the same as everyone else. Again be happy your losing!!!

Has anyone tried drinking alcohol yet ??

I have a special event this weekend where everyone will be drinking. But I’m kinda scared. I heard you can get reallyyyyyy drunk after a sip??? Is this true!!?!!

I did saturday for the first time. I had 2 margaritas with lunch and got a nice buzz, And 2 at a party later that night. Did not get drunk at all but i did get sick with diarrhea, i believe it was probably the sugar in the drinks. I did not get drunk at all, but felt pretty good:0) needless to say i will be drinking something else next time

I just had steak on grill for dinner, it was so yummy!!! Alot of chewing required, but well worth it. Its like exploring food for the first time all over again, how lucky are we?

  8. It took almost 3 weeks for my insurance to approve the surgery. Then it took another month just to get into surgery for me, and let me tell you it was the best decision i made! Now im only 8 weeks post-op and i dont regret anything. I hope this journey for you begins soon, and keep you out of that wheel chair! Your decision to have this surgery is gonna change your life completely, but for the good!! Trust me, it did for me:0) wishing you all the best!!

  9. I just had a sald for the first time with eggs, fat free shredded cheese, budding light lunchmeat,

And cherry tomatoes. Let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious!!! Im post-op 8 weeks, and didnt realize how much i missed salad. And guess what? No problems eating it. I just had to share, cant wait till i can try steak...Yeah!!!

What foods do you really enjoy eating, now that you can?

25l lbs lost and I'm just happy !!
I too thought at first I'm not losing enough, but what everyone says repeatedly on these forums is true!!
Everyone isn't the same, I'm happy just losing! I don't care how slow, I'm losing!! That's all that matters to me, so just be happy, that's why it's called a journey. Not complaining anymore untill I gain lbs, then we have a problem.
