Yeah that's the main reason I'm having surgery. Yes it will feel nice to be smaller and not stared at and all the other benefits but my joints are the big reason.

Yeah I'm on the same plan I guess. I'm on lean/greena and there seem to be several options for Protein but although I really like most green veggies there doesn't seem to be as many choices for that. I also don't like being told to "eat your veggies"

I go on the 13th. I'm not able to do much walking now (bad knees and hip) so 6 miles in 2 days seems difficult to me. But I'm glad you were able to do that. So cool.

I don't know if you've had your appt yet but at my last visit I asked my psychiatrist about my meds and he said we would just have to wait until after my surgery and see..that everyone reacts differently. So far the only thing I've been told I would have to stop was my antiinflammatory meds. Nervous about that since I have fibromyalgia but worth it to get the surgery (specially if it helps my fibro). My advice...try not to worry until a doctor tells you one way or another. Good luck

Honestly, it wasn't all in one shot and each loop I made was about a quarter mile which didn't even seen like that far. I think I passed three different nurses stations in that distance. Baby steps. It's not a race. Just do what you can. It is not that bad when broken up over several outings and going slow just passing people, saying hi and smiling and joking with others along the way. It makes the day go by.

My date is Nov 13, so far I lost 10lbs on the pre op diet. I have to get a filter tomorrow morning since I have blood clots in my legs. Ready and excited!

That is a surgeons choice. I was not cath'ed during mine.

Hey. I haven't had my sleeve yet (Monday yeah!) But I have had several surgeries/procedures and I assume they put in a tube. My throat is usually sore when I wake up. But they wait until you're asleep to do it so other than the after effect of a sore throat you probably won't even know it.

I'm worried about my liver too. I'm planning on 3 days liquid though I was told only 1 day. Glad to see someone else has the same ideas.
I know what you mean about these boards. I honestly felt somewhat uninformed about the aftermath of the surgery and reading on the boards has truly calmed me down.
Good luck with yours

Thanks. I haven't heard of that but it's definitely how I felt. Thanks so much. How long does it last? I haven't felt that way the whole time and it was no where as bad as that day but I still sometimes feel that.

Thank you for the inspiration! My surgery is 11/15. Trying to find helpful hints and posts/support to make it as successful as possible.

I know about bad knees. I walk with a walker now because I'm afraid I'm going to fall down. I know my weight is affecting that. I'm hoping that this journey will help with that and a few other issues along the way.

Now that I'm almost 5 days out my energy level has dialed back a bit. I didn't realize how much the pain meds in hospital made a difference. I'm not taking the oxy they prescribed me but a Tylenol now and then is helpful. I'm walking about 2 miles a day and that's in half mile increments at a time. Pretty much eat a meal (aka drink a shake) then go for a half mile loop.

It could be Keto Flu, I haven’t done the sleeve yet but from what I’ve read, the Pre Op diet is low carb. As a result, Keto Flu can happen which mimics Flu like symptoms, which is also a characteristic for us Fibromyalgia sufferers ☹️

Hey fellow fibro people. I just started my preop diet yesterday and when I woke this morning I was sore EVERYWHERE. It's cold and wet here but I don't remember ever hurting this bad all over. Did any of you experience this? For now I'm still on all my meds that seemed to be controlling it but today...

I'm not sure if I could handle just shakes. I guess it's one of those ends worth the means though. If my doc said i had to eat tree bark I would give it my best effort just to get the surgery though. I'm so tired of carrying an extra person with me all the time [emoji3] . Best of luck
