    I gave in

Wait, you only ate the M&Ms and french fries? A fun size M&M and 10 french fries??? It just doesn't seem like that much of a fall off the cliff. However I do think that you need to look at the situation from an emotional eater standpoint, if you keep it up you could have a problem. Have you read the books that are suggested here on the site? I just ordered them from Amazon and I'm hoping they helping to deal with my emotional eating quandary prior to my revision surgery. I hope to get to appoint one day where food is no longer my comfort, my friend, my Confessor, or my lover! You hang in there my friend you didn't eat that much and you don't have to beat yourself up over it! I would kill for the days that I can only eat a fun size M&M again. I have days where I would eat the whole bag right now and we're talking that big bag sucker! So smile, put it behind you, and start to deal with the demons that cause you to turn towards food. I'm afraid it's the same demon that many many many of us have and if it was easy to defeat him we wouldn't be here would we! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

weed smoker about to get bypass

You could always make your weed edibles for six weeks 3 weeks before the surgery in three weeks after. I'm also on medical cannabis, but I can't stand to smoke it! However I do smoke an e-cigarette, and I think I'm in trouble! Lol Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Good for you!!! That's what I was hoping you would say. I say this again, YOU GOT THIS! You're not going to die, you'll live in a much healthier manner! Do not let your anxiety own you. You are a strong man who is taking charge of his life. I've never been thin. I always say that I was born a size 16 and stayed that way. You can yo-yo the rest of your life or stand up and say NO MORE! I WILL NOT LIVE THIS WAY FOR ONE MORE MOMENT! I will be thin, healthy and fit! I will not cave or capitulate, I will take charge of this weight! Perhaps you can look at this as if your fat is making you anxious right now because it doesn't want to go away and visualize yourself picking up that scalpel and sending it on it's merry way!!!
  5. Jacob, maybe you should ask yourself if you are ready for this? I believe that if you don't have the right state of mind you may not, in a healthy manner. You have to give yourself permission to do what is right for you. Mind you I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU WILL DIE IF YOU GO THROUGH WITH IT, but this intense fear can't be good for you. What would happen if you did step back? I know I wouldn't, because I have to save my life, and I don't allow myself to cave to my anxiety. if I did I would be running for the rest of my life. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I need a new life, a new script. My life is one filled with pain and anxiety because of a broken neck. I lost myself to chronic pain for the last 12 years and I won't do it anymore. What can YOU live with? You walked in there initially and agreed to the surgery for some reason. Can you still live with that guy?
  6. Bahahahaha! Way to go Jacob, Never Never Never let go of that sense of humor! On Tuesday morning I want you to look in the mirror and tell yourself "You got this Jacob! You are strong and you are on your way to a whole new journey that will end up at the end of the rainbow!!!!"
  7. i understand! My anxiety is off the hook, so I struggle too. How about this, we'll struggle together!!! Please let me know how your doing after! I'll be praying for you!

  9. Hi Jacob! Welcome to the group! I'm new here too and I am pre-surgery. However, I'm kinda a special case. I had my stomach stapled back in 1990 and have a HUGH scar from my breast bone to my belly button. I'm not afraid of this surgery after THAT nightmare! Jacob, you got this!!!!! As a matter of fact you are very lucky to have a surgeon who has diverse skills. Trust him and trust the Lord that you will wake up and start your new life! You are in good hands!
  10. I am an emotional eater, and I am on a medication that put 60 lbs on my already heavy body. My doc is emphatic that I stay on it, so I found another way! Now, I MUST deal with the emotional eating part!!!

    My Story

Congratulations on your amazing journey! I take your story to heart as I am a high risk going into this surgery. But much for feeling is, and my doctor concurs, I am a higher risk without the surgery! I know that my faith has been tested through all of this, but I believe that God has my back at every turn congratulations on all you have done, and thank you for sharing your story. It gives me hope that even though I am not an amazingly physically fit woman because of a broken neck I can still lose weight! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Revision

BECAUSE the last one was such a bust, I guess I worry about Murphy's Law repeating himself. i hate failure. My doc is pretty confident because when i had my stapling it was new and not well done. He stated that he is not surprised that I failed last time because it was not a proven message at the time. He says this is no problem, together we've got this. I really like him and grad onto that faith!

    Revision

I had my stomach stapled in 1991 and lost maybe 40 lbs. It wasn't worth it...now I am going to have an RNY soon, I hope, and I'm a little nervous. I gained back all my weight from the stapling, and I'm worried it will happen again. Did anyone else feel this way?
  16. HI folks!!! I'm new to the forum and preparing for my surgery. I was wondering if there was anyone on the forum from the Albuquerque area? I would love to have someone local to talk to, commiserate with and encourage! Searching for those buddies that we can really enjoy a budding friendship that is built on future possibilities!!
