So I’m thinking about getting a belly brace. But thinking of waiting till after i get my tube out. Also I’m terrified to shower. I’m thinking a ton about food. Guess I have an addiction. But started thinking about soft foods which I know are 3 weeks out but I want to be prepared—I use instantcart for groceries especially now—but probably gonna pay for shipt membership too since they have different stores omg my head is everywhere.
I bought a stomach binder and it worked great. Helped me not feel so all over the place. Stopped using it after about a week and a half though because I started feeling better by then. Maybe get a hobby to focus on when you’re hyper focused on food. Best wishes!

I had my surgery on 8/21. The gas is worse than the incision pain. I’m home now and litterally just forcing the farts and it helps... walking around and trying to get my fluids in. Was supposed to start on my vits today but will have to start tomorrow because I forgot them. Oh well. Hopefully I’ll lose some weight this week I’m up a pound from surgery day... 😭
Have you tried gas x? It was my go to post op! And don’t feel bad about the 1lb. I gained 10lbs in the hospital from fluids and gas. Best wishes!

Also curious what your diet progression has been, I think the wide variation between different surgeons’ plans explains some of the drastic differences in weight loss in the first month, after that it evens out.

I was on Clear Liquids only for a week, then clear liquids plus milk and strained Soups for two week. I only yesterday started pureed foods and this morning I was up 1.4 lbs. I know it’ll even out and I’ll be losing again soon, but I think your body reacts to each stage too!
I did a day of clear liquids, 2 weeks of full liquids, 1 week purée, 1 week soft, then back to a normal diet. This was how my surgeon told me to progress. Everyone’s journey is definitely different

You know what is pissing me off? My phone ringing off the hook! The pharmacy calling to check on me, the nurse calling to check on me, my insurance company calling me (WTF ?!- I'm self pay!), my leave of absence company calling to confirm dates, the pharmacy calling again to thank me for my business. All of this in ONE day. Can a person not just recover in peace?!

lol, I remember all of those neverending calls! I still get a call from the pharmacy here and there to make sure I’m taking my proper meds 😂

I had my sleeve surgery on august 6th. At time of surgery I was 370 today I am down to 351. This is 6 days post op. I’m CRAVING a slice of pizza soooo bad... lol I’m also having trouble finding a good Protein Shake. I’m an extremely picky eater and have a problem with texture. Any hold would be appreciated. Thanks!
The most popular shakes are the premier ones. So many different flavors. But if you have a texture problem (I feel your pain). Maybe you need to find a Protein Powder and mix it to your liking with your liquid of choice (milk or water). Best wishes!

You have such a wonderful attitude, I really admire your spirit and how you’re responding to the process not being what you’d expected!
Thank you! At the end of the day I just have to try to get this tool working. I’m sure the stalls will end when my body finally adjusts. I can’t give up on it, that’s not an option. I didn’t go through this to be the same!

  7. 6 weeks post-op today!

I can’t believe how quickly 6 weeks went by. I cannot say that I’m truly happy with my progress. Due to hormones, stress, and everything else my body is just fighting me and not losing at all. If it weren’t for how great I feel, I’d probably have all of the regrets. I do notice slight changes in my body. Everything is looser, my boobs and thighs are shrinking, my tummy is super jiggly (but not smaller). All I can do is keep on pushing through this stall and hoping for the best!
