    Help....a little long

Thank you everyone for your kind words motivational messages. I did get my fill yesterday and as I wrote on my blog today is the first day of the best days of my life. I know putting me first is important and my gym bag is packed and in the car for me to go to the gym today. I can't thank everyone enough. I had stayed away from these boards and know that I have to take the time to visit at least everyday because the motivation is awesome!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
  4. Hello everyone, this is a difficult post for me to write because I have fallen off the wagon. And not just stumbled off but fell out completely. I was banded in December and dropped my first 20 or so pounds very quickly. I got a fill in January and things seemed to be moving along. I thought I had a handle on my emotional eating but in the last two months I eat everything in sight. The problem is that I am able to eat a lot and I could not figure out what was wrong but then thought my emotions are so out of wack because I was facing a layoff and then got through that, then my mom is very sick and dealing with that plus I am working on my doctorate degree and that is beyond stressful. So two weeks ago I thought I should get another fill so I scheduled a fill but my dr is out of the office until next week so I go in on Wednesday the 13th. The good thing is that I have not gained anything back with the exception of 5 pounds which I keep losing and gaining. I lost all motivation and even stopped working out because the balance I had in life is gone. So for all those that may have any advice, please help. I am sitting here in tears because I feel like such a failure and I have not been on these boards in a while. Thanks
  5. I have read through quite a few posts about the sliming and PBing. But I want to make sure I understand what is happening. When people are explaining the sliming, it sounds like mucus but for me, my mouth gets very watery like I want to throw up but it passes once the food passes and I just have to spit a few times. It is nothing really gross, just a lot of saliva. Is this the same thing? My second question is probably dumb but have to ask anyway, where exactly is stuff getting stuck. It seems to me that when I eat and that feeling is there of getting stuck, but I am trying to understand exactly where? Thanks for all the help in advance.
  6. I really need help. I tried searching for this but did not find an answer. I was banded on Dec 4 and caught a really really bad cold around the 22nd and thought I was going to not be coughing since I had all the other stuff. Well on Friday, I started coughing and got some cough syrup and that has calmed it down but now my stomach is so sore. It feels like I pulled a muscle. I plan to call my doctor but wanted to find out if anyone had ever experienced this and what you did. Thanks in advance for all the responses. Its only been a little over three weeks for me and I am not sure if I have messed up something.

    emotional breakdowns?

You are not alone. I was banded on Dec 4 and about one week afterwards, I lost it. I am so tired of liquids, I am about to scream. I cried and cried and cried. I doubted my decision and wished I could go back. Like someone said, I was in mourning for food. I am over it now and glad I made it through. I know this is the best decision I could have made. Hang in there, like someone posted on my blog..."this too shall pass". Write down how you feel, it helps a lot. I blogged about it and once I was finished, I felt better. Nina
  9. I was banded by Dr. Ferrari in Houston and was told the same thing. I don't drink that much, maybe one drink every few months when celebrating or something so no big deal for me. I do understand it can be hard to do but in my mind, its not forever. Ask your dr again and see what he/she says and ask why. Nina

    Itching!

I put cocoa butter around the strips that that eased it quite a bit. Thanks for all the responses.

    thanks for leading me here.
  12. OMG! My belly is itching so badly. I was banded on 12/4 and it is killing me. I just rub lightly to ease the discomfort. I put lotion around the strips in hope that would ease but only slightly better. Anybody else have this? I will be so glad when these things fall off.

    drinking???

I was just banded on Dec 4 and was told to avoid alcohol for about a year. I hope that is truly not the final answer but if it is then that's cool with me because I don't drink often anyway. Hope you feel better soon.

Do you have a December Date?

I am a novice when it comes to the signature. Can someone please please send me the code for the december bandsters. I think it is awesome!
  15. Hello everyone, thanks for all the well wishes. I am home. 2 days post op and I am feeling pretty good. Yesterday was a really good day, today not as good, because I think I overdid it yesterday because I was feeling so good. I was blessed that I passed gas very easily so no gas pains. Still passing it and thats okay with me. Feel bad for my family though. LOL. I have very little pain from my incisions, just more when getting up and down from the bed and I can lay on my sides easily. I actually had a scare right after surgery, I stayed in recovery for like 3 hours because my oxgen levels were too low but that passed and I was in my room by 3:00ish or so that afternoon. I actually did get to go home after being told during pre-op I had to stay overnight. It was great being in my own bed. Doing okay with the liquids so far, I go to school online so I keep busy doing homework and reading novels and watching TV. I am blessed to be off work for at least 2 weeks, possibly three depending on my dr. First fill scheduled at 6 weeks out.
