  1. Update: Down 24 lbs since surgery - 37 lbs since my high 2 months ago. Pretty much sustaining myself on greek yogurt, scrambled eggs and protein bars. Protein water (lemon) instead of protein shakes (because I hate them all), and would love to say I'm getting all of my water in. I'm not. But doing my best. Trying to eat as much protein as possible at each meal. Looking forward for the 19th when I will be on "normal" food. Any other updates from everyone? Where are you? How are you doing? What are you eating? Are you still tired? I feel like I'm starting to come out of the tired phase. Even did a 2.5 mile hike on Sunday. Progress.
  2. @Amy1234 I don't think there's anything to prevent the stall. My nutritionist told me that your body needs to have an adjustment period to deal with the massive weight loss. Then you start losing again. Just try not be frustrated and know it's coming! But, make sure you're getting your protein and water. She said you can stall if you don't get those in.
  3. I was sleeved on 24 August. I stalled for nine days and in the last four days I've lost 6 pounds. So it's coming off again. Thankfully. I'm down a total of 30 pounds, including the pre-op diet for a week. So have heart if you are stalled. It does pick up again.
  4. I am still really tired. It's probably because I'm still not getting in all of my water (usually 24-32oz/day) and protein (30-40gr protein/day). I'm also cranky, which isn't helping. And to make matters more fun, the scale hasn't really moved in 8 days or so. Maybe down 1 lb in that time. I'm eating the tiniest portions ever. How is this possible that I'm not losing? I'm so baffled. And tired. And cranky.

    Stuck

Yep same issue w constipation. Have been having Miralax and that is starting to help. I also heard that if you're not getting your water and protein in, it stalls your weight loss. So I'm making a concerted effort for both. Hoping it makes a difference soon! Good luck!

    Stuck

@gotime0810 That was extremely helpful. It's hard knowing you're eating next to nothing and your body isn't responding. It's crazy. Thank you for the sanity check.
  7. Same boat as you - surgery was 8/24 and I stopped losing about a week ago. I'm tired, kinda cranky and not losing weight...can't wait for this stage to end. Good luck!

    Moody and weepy

You have no idea how relieved this post made me. I'm two weeks post-op, exhausted and cranky. Hope it's short term bc I am annoyed with myself at this point!
  9. Hi all, I'm only 17 days out. I'm having difficulty getting protein in because I CANNOT deal with protein shakes. I hate all of them. They are too sweet for me. The only thing I can manage is biPro protein water (20g protein) in lemon flavor bc it's sour. But I know I'll get tired of it quickly. I don't like the "unflavored" protein bc to me it's not unflavored. It changes the taste of what I put it in, and then I don't want it. I'm trying to eat my protein, but there's no way I can eat enough at this point when I can only eat 3-4 Tbsp of any food. Also, I feel like I can eat too much at this point. Eventually I get full, but I thought I would only be able to eat 2 Tbsp of food at this point, and I AM getting hungry even though my nutritionist said it was all in my head. No way it's in my head. It's real hunger. I'm not eating too much - as soon as I feel full I stop and I'm having no pain or discomfort. I'm not eating "bad food" either. I'm not getting enough water...even though I'm definitely trying. I'm getting less than half. I actually love plain water....I'm just not getting it in with my schedule (single parent working full-time and overtime). All of the above is likely contributing to the fact that I haven't lost any weight in almost a week. I was 16 lbs down from surgery day, and now I've stayed at 248 for almost a week. Ideas on how to get protein in that's not a shake? I haven't tried the tomato soup or chicken soup protein yet (how best to use these?) but I would much rather savory than anything sweet. I despise every protein shake. I'll like it for one shake and then can't stomach it after that. Also - do you think the lack of weight loss at this point is because of the protein/water issue? Doing fine with vitamins. My doc said I could start doing "light running" at this point, and I laughed. I have barely enough energy to get through the day as it is - exercise is definitely not an option at this point. Any thoughts/ideas would be welcome! Thanks all!

    *Sex*

I had it a week out and was fine - just have them be careful and all is good.
  11. Today I move on to yogurt and pureed soups and ricotta cheese and I'm PSYCHED. For the ricotta cheese - try this - it's delicious. Take about 1/2 c of it, add a little almond extract and a splenda and mix it up. It tastes like a delicious dessert! Plus, you'll have multiple servings, so that's good. Good luck everyone! Glad I'm not the only one with no nausea.
  12. I feel like I'm not where I should be at this point. I had surgery 8/25 and less than one week out, I can drink all of my protein and a lot of water no problem. I wouldn't say they are tiny sips, but I'm not gulping either. I would say large sips (1 Tbsp per sip). I'm also hungry sometimes. Is it possible for me to have stretched the band with water? I'm really tired (probably due to not eating in over a week), but besides that all is fine. My stomach is bloated (I assume all the gas isn't gone?). I just feel like I shouldn't be able to drink this easily and it seems like everyone get nausea, but I have absolutely none (besides immediately after surgery when we did the flouro test). Worried I'll be able to eat too much when I get to pureed and solid foods. Anyone else have this? Thanks in advance.
