    How important is water really!

It’s definitely harder for me to drink water in the cold weather- so I drink a lot of tea. I always have earl grey and milk at my desk at work. And at night I love my mint tea with stevia. I also stack my car up and have a bottle here and there in my work bag and purse. If the water is not quickly accessible to me I don’t drink. Maybe that will help.

    It's lose not loose (smh)

We all have our issues. That’s why we are here. Let’s just try to be inclusive. You said that you meant no harm with your post and I believe you. It’s just that sometimes we all may write things we think are innocent but to others they may be hurtful. I can’t count the times friends said things about their minimal weight issues in front of me not realizes I was crying inside. That’s all. Let’s move on and try to be mindful of our comments. We are all in this together! Namaste!

Thank you dreamingsmall for supporting me since this comment was directed at my comment. Apparently it’s bad to be educated and want this forum to be an inclusive place. I am not responding to this troll’s remarks.

    It's lose not loose (smh)

I agree Ms. Fluffy! I have a masters degree. I teach. I write 15 page comprehensive assessment reports on children. When I write from my phone, I make tons of errors. My phone also changes words on me. Guess what? I don’t give a damn. I’m writing quickly on a tiny keyboard. I’m lucky. I don’t have a disability and I speak English. I’m just lazy. So please give me a little break if my posts are not grammatically correct or have phonetic, semantic, or syntactic errors. I hope this feed does not discourage anyone from sharing their thoughts and needs. Let’s be inclusive! Not to mention, I love reading the posts from those who are still in the hospital and drugged up on pain killers- their grammar and spelling puts a smile on my face!

I’ve regained ALL the weight back 😢♀️

If you are not getting sleep with your baby you won’t have the energy to plan and eat healthy. When I had my babies and toddlers I always cleaned their plated by eating their leftovers. I changed that by quickly dumping all the dirty dishes in the sink ( let someone else clean then ...husband, nanny if you are lucky) and I would take kids up for bath. Bath time was my favorite time with my kids. By the time they were done and in pjs I would go clean the kitchen and their leftovers were not appealing any longer. This was with out sleeve so it might even be easier for you. Also bring healthy snacks with you. As my kids got older and we stopped for lunch I would order a garden salad and have my own baggie of chickpeas to throw on. Kids are hard. You are a short order cook and always in the kitchen. Don’t beat yourself up! Be mindful. I have realized that the hunger is happy no matter what you feed it. So after a healthy choice you feel full. So make that choice! Good luck and congrats on your growing family.

I’ve regained ALL the weight back 😢♀️

Ya. Today for breakfast coffee and milk ( I hate breakfast). lunch I had 1/2 a bar and bag protein chips. After work a handful of almonds. Dinner was 3 oz meat sauce over a few tablespoons of quinoa. Snack after dinner was 1/2 a protein bar. Total 43 carbs, 53 protein, 700 calories I need protein bars and other protein items because I don’t always have a lunch break. I wouldn’t call a bar and yogurt with some granola at night a problem. It could be worse! The donuts and eating your kids’ food ya a prob. I’m a snacker. I’d rather eat 6 small snacks than 3 meals- I can’t eat that much protein at one sitting so I get hungry quickly.

    Shakes to shake things up?

You only had protein drinks? Or did you replace certain meals? I’m losing slow at 3 mos post op and would like to speed things up.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Ouch! I hate milk. I only drink water, tea, and coffee. Don’t worry. I’m not having a DC. I’m just wishing to.
  9. I’ve always been a healthy eater-just too much- I always had a huge appetite and got to almost 300 pounds eating pretty healthy. I did snack a lot- ate a lot of fruit - and def ate carbs. But I never often ate fried food, junk like chips, or donuts muffins and other sweet carbs. On occasion I did- like my normal weight friends. So the question is- I’m def eating a lot less at 3 mos post op but still eat similar foods except for the large amounts. Protein veggies and a little carbs are my staples. I have a bite of my family desserts at restaurants very rarely. I exercise a lot- today walked 8 miles. I just noticed that for those who make a huge 360 in their eating habits are making huge gains in weight loss. My eating habits are more about portion due to the sleeve. Will I lose as much weight as those making a huge change. I’m not finding the transition that different and so this process seems easier for me. But I’ve only lost 50 so far- now about 10 a month. Anyone have the same experience. Just wondering if I should do some 360 changes like no carbs- which would be depressing and stressful.
  10. I’m 3 mos post op and lost 50 pounds. I’m scheduled for bunion surgery late Dec. this is the only time I️ can do it as I️ won’t be able to drive for 2 weeks, on crutches for 3 weeks and in a boot for 6 weeks. I’m a teacher so I’ll be using dec vacation and 2 weeks in January to recover. Then I’ll have the boot only for less than 3 weeks at work. I️ saw my weight loss group yesterday and they said it was fine physically but they mentioned I️ could gain weight from being home and not exercising. I️ explained that I️ want to be able to be out of foot pain so I️CAN walk more miles and start running again by spring and when I️ go to Florida in February. And that as a teacher I️ can’t really take 3 weeks off and the dec break is long and also I️ gain two Monday holidays. I️ don’t see how I️ would gain weight. I’ll be back to barre hopefully after a month and my calories are under a thousand a day. Anyone gone through surgery after sleeve that limits mobility? What have your experiences been? Thanks!

    Solid Foods/6 weeks post op

I’m 3 mos and have not had pasta/noodles. I’ve recently had rice in sushi. Some say they can expand in your tummy but I️ didn’t have a problem with sushi. I’ve never loved pasta so haven’t had it. Anything you would eat on rice or pasta can be substituted with quinoa - a better choice I️ think.

    No change in hunger

When I️ was starving in the early stages I️ would eat a large spoonful of smooth peanut butter. If you are allowed that - it really hit the spot. I️ ate it almost every day. Now that I’m eating all foods I’m still hungry but get full quickly.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I️ have no had Diet Coke in so long. I️ think I’m good through the winter but once summer comes I️ know I’ll want it!

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Really accurate for me too. Started at 289 and exactly 3 mos later I’m 240! I’m really hoping I️ get to 200 by 6 mos ( as the chart reads) but I’m losing 10 pounds a month so that’s 30 not 40 pounds. I️ guess I’d take 210 anyway. At 5’8 I’d look pretty good at 210! Thanks for the chart. It’s a great visual.
  16. Ps sorry for the weird question mark signs- apparently a new bug in iPhone update!
  17. I️ was nervous too! I️ am exactly 3 mos out and have lost 50 pounds ( including 5 preop). I️ feel totally normal and not deprived. I️ can eat anything now- just have to eat dryer cuts of meet more slowly or it feels stuck. I️ don’t feel left out of social events or office parties. I️ just make good choices and the restriction stops me. When I’m restricted I️ have no desire to eat more. At a resent Friendsgiving at work I️ chose health options , ate only what I️ could, and had a few nibbles of small bite sized desserts. It was a great feeling watching others pig out and not wanting to join in. Also I️ have improved so much in the exercise domain. My thighs don’t bump my tummy in spin class and I’m an animal burning all those calories. Barre classes are so much easier for me now which means I️ can push myself. I’m even doing planks!! I️ feel good about how I️ look. I’m not tired and I’m happier. So yes I️ was nervous- but so thrilled of my 3 mos results. I️’m losing about 10 pounds a month which is not as quick as others but who cares. Good luck. It’s well worth it!

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I’m at 3 mos now - sleeved aug 21. I’ve last 50 pounds including the 5 pounds pre op. I️ feel great and know I️ look much better. I’ve been more social and not hiding in my house. I’m losing about 10 pounds a month now. I️ thought it would be faster but that’s fine. I’m enjoying all foods just a small amount of it. No one has asked about my weight loss prob because I️ was previously a yo-yo dieter so they prob assume I’m dieting now. I’ve dumped a ton of clothing off at goodwill and fitting into clothing I️ have not worn in years. My shoes are also not as tight. My bras fit great. I️ have twenty more pounds to fit into my size 12 designer jeans. ( I️ know what I️ weighed with each clothing I️ have!). I️ have my 3 mos checkup Wednesday. Some days I’m not as healthy as others but the restriction is great. I️ love getting full on small amounts of food and sitting and watching my skinny friends eat more than me! In the past I️ could never get full at social gatherings as I️ was too embarrassed to eat all the food I️ really wanted in front of others. So I️ only ate a little then gorged when I️ got home because of how depressed I️ was. Sometimes I️ even ate before I️ went out to events so I️ wouldn’t eat in front of people. Now o feel normal. I️ can say I’m starving , eat until full and stop. It’s a great feeling. I’m so happy I️ got sleeved!

    Hi, surgery soon.

Good luck. I hope your surgery goes well
  23. For the past 1.5 mos once I started real food ( after 1 mos post op) I was feeling starved before meals- in fact wrote about it many times. I had been losing 1.5-2 pounds a week starting 1 mos post op. In the last 5 days I lost my hunger. A few times i have gotten hungry, ate, and became full fairly quickly. I have lost 5 pounds in these 5 days. I forced myself to eat dinner tonight ( 4oz chicken and a few strawberries) because all I had was 1/4 cup chicken salad, a few gluten free crackers and 1oz of cheese for breakfast and a wonderslim protein bar. It’s just a strange feeling to not have a desire to eat- even on Halloween ! And my husband is nervous that I lost 5 pounds in 5 days when normally it takes 5 days to get 1 pound off or less. I lost quickly at the beginning which makes sense. Should I be concerned. I feel fine during the day- exercise, work, take care of family etc. I’m drinking all my water too and taking all the vitamins and prescriptions. Just wondering about the sudden change. Any thoughts?? Thanks SW 289 CW 243 Aug 21 /2017. surgery date GW 180 Height 5’8
  24. That sounds terrible and I’m so sorry for what you have gone through. It’s hard enough dealing with weight and all that, but cancer too? Not fair. Hoping things get better for you soon!
