  1. hey dawanna. I'm so sorry I did't get your message. I don't really check this part of my profile regularly.

I love my band! Dr Sartor did my surgery April 1st at P&S. The total cost was 12,900. I paid in cash the day before surgery. Had my band put in around lunch one day, spent the night by choice so I could rest away from the kids and went home the next morning.

The recovery was a little more that what I had expected, but went quickly.

I just had my 4th fill with 7cc in a 10 cc band. THe first 3 months of fills after surgery are included in your price, so it's best to get to your sweet spot asap to decrease your out of pocket. This last fill cost $300, but it was worth it.

  2. I've seen Jody twice before. He really helped me set up a good program. I love the elliptical and spend most of my time on it. I work out 1 hour 3 times a week. I do 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 30 minutes of strength training.

I had most of my weight loss in the first month. I had my first fill (3cc)at 4 weeks and felt NO restriction at all afterwards. My second fill was 2 weeks later (5cc) and was much better. My weight loss started again after my 2nd fill. I went 3 weeks later for my third fill. I was still losing weight, but felt like I was eating too many snacks to stay full. Rena put just 1cc in this time for a total of 6, and I think I'm at my sweet spot for now. I can eat my 3 meals and not need a snack in between to stay full.

I weighed myself this morning (I only weigh twice a week) and was at 279. That's 36 pounds gone in 9 weeks!!!!

  3. HI, I'm from Farmerville (just out of Monroe) what part of LA are you from?

  4. Nice to meet you Abby. I'm finally done with soreness and able to go about life as normal. I've done really well with weight loss, but I've heard that it's easier for super sizers to loose in the first month. My body was used to lots of calories, and now I'm doing good to force down 400-500 a day. I felt like it was a huge investment too. That's one of the reasons I put it off so long. I felt like I was taking away from the family. I'm sooo glad I got selfish and did this!!

Where are you from? I'm a Louisiana girl (fat southern chick!).

  5. I'm going to be banded this Tuesday, April 1st (no it's not an April Fool's joke!). Dealt with insurance for 9 months and lost 2 appeals because Aetna didn't think I was sick enough for surgery. So I finally saved enough money and payed for my surgery at preop yesterday!!!! I'm am sooo ready!!! Went shopping today for all the wonderful post-op foods I will be eating and have started "getting the house in order" so I won't have to clean or do laundry for a few days afterwards.
