It sounds totally normal. I am 9 days out and the first few days you're only supposed to sip Water. Approximately two tablespoons every 15 minutes, so just keep at it I had the bottle of water beside me 24/7 constantly sipping sipping away. And it slowly gets easier and you can drink more at what over the next five days or so

I'm being sleeved on November 28th, do you always get a drain and does it stay in for a couple days? I don't recall anyone mentioning in my appointments a drain. I am staying in the town where I'm having surgery for a few days and then flying home. Now I'm starting to worry that I'll have to go back to have a drain removed before I can leave. Any thoughts. Most of my Aftercare will be via phone and with my family doctor in my home town

Has anyone had experience with putting unflavored Protein Powder in Soups and freezing them. Does it seem to freeze well, or should I just add it when I'm ready to eat it.

It is harder to digest raw vegetables. So early on would not be advisable

Has anyone had a similar situation. I have to travel a long distance from home to have the surgery. A friend will be taking me to the hospital and picking me up, will stay with them for a day or two then have a short hour long flight to my mother's. Until I am able to come home. Does that seem reasonable that I can fly short distance without too much trouble? Do I have to be able to go back and see the surgeon after surgery. Or just my regular family doctor

Oh and I should say, I've had zero complications with my RYN! It's way better than the band ever was. It has a more natural 'full' feeling. It's literally the best thing I did for myself!!
Ask me anything, I'm an open book

P.s. Great name BTW!
Congratulations you look amazing. Would you mind my asking approximately how much was it to have the plastic surgery. I am in British Columbia so imagine it would be fairly comprable

Yes I have to travel from one end of British Columbia to the other. I am wondering what I need to bring with me, how soon do I start Vitamins, things like that. As I will be away from home for at least a week. And then fly home.

I have been on antidepressants for over 14 years. Does anyone know if you continue taking your same doses after surgery. My pills are capsules, which I believe we'll just sit in the smaller stomach and potentially cause ulcers, has anyone had experience with this.

No Problem MarinaGirl. I appreciate any responses I can get, any info is better than none, and hearing opposing opinions is also good. Will help me, ultimately it is the surgeon who will decide for sure whether or not I can have Sleeve, so I will study up more on RNY to be prepared in case that is the outcome. Thank you again

I am pre op meeting surgeon in next month or so. I seem to only get acid reflux when i eat pizza, Tomato sauce, chili, maybe spicy. Must be acidic foods? Or lay down to soon after meal. Do you think this means i shouldn't have sleeve? Or do i need to have RNY. I imagine it might be okay if avoid those foods and or medicine for acid. Any thoughts?

Hi, I don't have a date yet, but nutritionist has given me a pre-op diet to try. it is 1200 calories. designed to shrink the liver, so it is out of the way. it is low fat low carb. I believe I need to do it for 2 weeks prior to actual surgery.
