And in an earlier post you said "put off these kind of thoughts..."

That's stuffing. Maybe you meant something else, but QueenTiff is right when she says you just basically told her to stuff her emotions.

Maybe you were never given space to express and process your own emotions. Most men are not. Your interactions on this thread are quite hateful. This could be a good opportunity for you to stop speaking, start listening and processing your own "put off" thoughts so that others around you can have the space to do so too without such harsh criticism.

    Queen Tiff,

I think you're brave to share and not suppress your emotions. We all were told this would be hard, but learning it and living it are two different things. I'm 2 weeks post op and I too have had my fair share of "what the heck did I just do?" I get it, and I hope you can focus on the positive support you've received on this thread and let the haters stew in their own bitterness.

So many of us stand with you, hoping and praying your heart and mind are comforted by the knowledge that you are strong and brave to have taken this step. You will have highs and lows, but I think in the long run, you will overall be happy with the new you. Take time to mourn the losses--whatever they may be for you. It's important for your psychological health to let those feelings have a place. Stuffing them will just marinate them into some other negative explosion. We don't have food to regulate us anymore, so it's even more important to feel the feels.

It does feel like we will never indulge in our favs. But I can tell you, watching my mom who had the surgery 10 years ago, she eats any and everything. Yeah, she gained probably 30 of her 90 lost back, but she's still much healthier and enjoys life. I will enjoy life. You will enjoy life. This mind set has helped me as I served my family desert and I ate my fudgesicle, made them lasagna tonight and I had a ricotta bake--this is just temporary. I will have those things again, just not today.

Wishing you peace of mind and hydration!

My go to explanation is that I had surgery for some digestive issues. Only one person has probed further and I told them it wasn't my fav thing to talk about because it's kinda personal. I think people just assume I had some bowel issue. I debated not telling anyone anything but that didn't seem realistic. Now, post op, ppl understand why I'm eating weird or less and I don't feel like I have to hide my fatigue, and I've been given the space and understanding to recover without having to "hide."

Same here-wanted to avoid malabsorption. Also, sleeve has less potential complications and less chance of dumping syndrome. My surgeon made a good point- statistically, RNY patients tend to lose a little more than sleeve patients . However, he explained that the majority of the health benefits come from losing the first 50-60#s, not the last 5-10. In his opinion, all things equal, the sleeve is usually the wiser, less risky route. Of course if you have some other health issues, that might change which course is better.

Wow, that was a lot of judgement coming from someone who has no idea where that other woman is coming from. So because you want the surgery nobody is allowed to express any form of regret or suffering?

I think it is important for people to hear all sides of post-op life. Everyone isn't happy or thrilled with their post-op results or life.
I read the good and the bad and decided it was still the best option for me.
OP is unhappy, let her be unhappy. She is struggling and having a hard time. She is allowed to voice that opinion. Everyone doesn't have an easy recovery. Mine was smooth and easy but I know that isn't the case for everyone.
If someone is dumb enough to let a post on an internet forum really influence their health decisions, they are getting the life they deserve.
I really don't get why you guys are trying to silence her. People post they are miserable like every single day. Let them.

I had your normal week-2 week long stalls during active weight loss phase - maybe 2 or 3 of them? Those are pretty much standard and expected - your body is trying to catch up with all the massive pounds lost. No super long lasting plateaus, though. I know stalls are discouraging, but I promise - they're just part of the package! Stick to your plan and it will come off
I was a long distance runner before I started lifting weights, and was consistently at 150 lbs. Once I began lifting, I started fluctuating between 150-153 lbs. But that occasional 3 lb fluctuation doesn't bother me! My best suggestion to you would be to get active and get away from your scale. It will destroy your mind, if you let it!

Try stopping the Isopure. I wasn't using it at first, but then added it and I started experiencing your same symptoms. Once I stopped I felt so much better. Hopefully that's all that's going with you. A call to your surgeon is still probably warranted.

I was sleeved on 8/14. I'm a stay at home mom, so similar job to you [emoji6]. I would say two weeks should be fine, 3 if you can swing it. My pain was not prohibitive of me taking care of the kiddos, but my exhaustion was more of the issue. I'd break into cold sweats walking them into school last week (1 week post op. Im feeling WAY better in terms of energy starting at like at Day 11) Personally, as a mom, I wouldn't want anyone who had this surgery to be in charge of my kids until at least 2 weeks post op. If you nanny for active kids, forget it. Go three weeks. There's still so much to get used to. Take this time to focus on you and forming new long term habits. It's been a challenge for me to focus on slowly hydrating myself, slowly feeding myself, getting my Protein slowly in while ALSO caring for my kids (6,10,14). I don't know the ages you nanny for, but I was advised to not lift anything more than 10 lbs for 6 weeks. As a mom, I know that ain't happening, but you should give yourself at least three weeks before you're picking up babies/toddlers and such. Best of luck!

I get hunger pangs but not like presurgery. Sometimes it's just my tummy talking. Are you taking any acid reducers, doc has me on omeprazole 2x a day. Acid can cause rumblings that we mistake for hunger.
