  5. I see that. Just have had it in this day and age with ppl misrepresenting something I hold so dear, causing more harm than good. Can't be silent anymore. I know I don't have all the answers and have misunderstood things at times, so when other "Christians" can't have that same self realization, it's hard to sit on my hands. Admittedly, this probably isn't the forum for my activism. I'll blame my early rise and not enough coffee for my lapse in judgement to engage with someone like her publicly. Regardless...Best of luck to the OP (and the other chick)! Hope you find a wonderful surgeon in whom you can have confidence in for such a huge life change because they're out there!
  6. Please, for the love, if you choose to continually engage in an antagonistic/defensive manner with someone who was speaking with way more kindness than you are displaying, leave Jesus out of it. I don't know this Dr or@DropWt4Life from Adam (no pun intended), but as a Christian, I cringe at your usage of God & Savior attached to your defensive ways. If you truly trusted God and had your life in the hands of the Savior, you'd recognize the damage your rhetoric causes to spreading the love of God. I'd like to believe your intent was to shine light on His goodness, but I can assure you that you're only coming off as self-righteous and "there is no one righteous, not even one..." (Romans).

    Rent clothes!!!

Agreed. I'm only using it for my free month, which will get me through to my next size I already own. Seems like they could make it cheaper. I don't know how much it is to add extra items... maybe the more you "rent" the better value.

    Raw veggies

I feel ya! My surgeon allows raw veggies (except for the uber-fibrous ones like carrots and celery) at 6 weeks as long as you've been tolerating foods well. He advises to really chop up lettuce very fine. This last Monday I hit 6 weeks. I've had cabbage, romaine, zucchini, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, olives and pickles with absolutely no problems. Just chew, chew, chew the heck out of them.
  9. I am currently between the sizes of clothes I already own. I'm only 6 weeks out, and I don't want to buy any clothes in this current size. I can fudge the shirts, but the pants were just not working. Way too saggy in my upsize, way too tight on the down size. Then I stumbled upon a company that is essentially Netflix for clothes. It's called Gwynnie Bee. While I couldn't afford it on the regular, they gave me a free trial month. So here I am in designer jeans (that fit) in which I "rented" for free. They have sizes 10-30. You get two items at a time, keep them for as long or as short as you like. Send them back and they dry clean them. I thought it would be a perfect idea for this community, especially those of us at the beginning as we are droppin weight like it's hot. Here's a referral link. https://goo.gl/gDBHLT I believe it gives you $10 off? If it doesn't give you the free month, then just access the site via a google search. Happy losing!

    Stevia....yay or nay?

I have been using Stevia for a couple years. Research is starting to show that fake sugar still effects your blood sugar. The chemical laden ones (sweet n low, Splenda, equal) definitely effect brain chemistry. As far as I know, stevia doesn't effect brain health. Not sure if it messes with blood sugar in a research environment. For me, I can definitely feel my cravings get triggered with the chemical sweeteners, but I do not with Stevia. I don't feel any blood sugar issues when I use Stevia. I think long term it depends on what your poison has been. I plan on eating sugar, continuing to use Stevia in my coffee. Sugar and sweets for me were never my issue. Yeah I love them, but they weren't what caused me to keep my weight on. For me it was fast food. So that I have to avoid like the plague. I believe the more we deprive oursleves and the longer our list of "no-nos" gets, the more it messes with us psychologically and we perpetuate our unhealthy relationship with food. We pretty much all know what we should and shouldn't eat. The problem is in our heads. So the solution needs to be in our heads. I plan to focus on being mindful, listening the my brain-body connection, stopping when I'm full and being kind to my body, eat when my stomach is hungry, not my brain. I know my tastes have and will continue to change and I'll go with that. For me, I have dieted and restricted foods for 25 years and it got me no where. I need to try a different approach besides hard lines and a long list of banned food. (Of course, this is all within the parameter of protein first, veggies next, carbs if there's room.)

    Chew to liquid end date?

It's fascinating how everyone is so different. I certainly hope the liquefaction doesn't last five years... but I guess at this point I have no option!! Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞

    Coffee question???

My surgeon told me on my first day post op to go ahead and try it and see if the caffeine irritated me. It didn't. I have no history of heartburn. So I've had it every day since my surgery (6 weeks ago.) I usually have it as a 2 shot latte with Fairlife milk and a 1/2 tsp of sugar leaf. I also have an occasional short latte, unsweetened from Starbucks. I only have one cup a day though. I just bought the SF coffeemate pumpkin spice creamer & did just have my first actual cup of coffee (instead of espresso shots) yesterday with the pumpkin spice creamer. (I debated between the SF and the regular. I'm not a huge fake sugar fan unless it's stevia. So, this will probably be my first and last jar) But....It. Was. Heaven.
