I weighed NINE POUNDS more when I got home than when I got in. I'm now 3 lbs below my going in weight. So down 3 lbs overall. They told me not to weigh myself for 2 weeks. But...weighers gotta weigh weigh weigh LOL

I get sleeved in 2 days, 11/8. I was not nervous at all but starting to be. I'm a planner and I keep going over my planning, my "recipes" to get in enough Protein etc. I'm concerned about drinking enough Water. It's not that I can't or don't already (I typically drink anywhere from 80-100 ozs day now) but I drink in gulps. Like a cup or more at a time. Then an hr or so and another huge gulp. BECAUSE OF WORK. It's so intense and I could be involved in something and just ignore everything else. I've tried to sip sip thru the day and so far have failed. I have a week off of work after my surgery and I'm hoping to "learn" the sip every few mins process. So that when I go back, I'll have that under my belt so to speak. There is an app called HY that I'm hoping will help me. I've set it up to remind me every 15 mins. I just need to NOT IGNORE IT!!! The nurse that is in charge of me getting to surgical point and afterward told me that any readmits are due to dehydration esp in the first week or so. We are getting IV hydration in hospital, so once released, it's all up to us. So that's my fear, I'm definitely NOT going to be a readmit because of hydration!!

I'm today at 1pm. Long morning so far. I'm starving and kinda weak/tired from Clear Liquids only. Have a pretty decent headache. It's 7:30 am and don't need to leave for hospital until 11:15. Think I'll quilt a bit and keep my mind off. My husband is making sausage and eggs and I am having hard time with smell I'm so hungry LOL. I'm not nervous YET. Just want it over with. I'm keeping positive.

I was sleeved 11/8 and I won't be cleared (hopefully) until 11/29 for puree foods. Then I am on that 3-4 weeks before soft foods. Then 3-4 weeks before slowly introducing regular foods. So about 3 months or so out, I will be able to start regular foods. Seems all surgeons and programs are different.

Nothing wrong with staying another day. I think I stayed 3 nights (wish I stayed 4). The benefits of being in the hospital is you'll get the REALLY good pain meds. I didn't have a care in the world when I was there, honestly was a pleasurable experience

Good luck!! I took a thin snap front housecoat/bathrobe type item to wear over hospital gown when you are walking so your back side doesn't show Undies, toothbrush/paste, mouthwash, CHAPSTICK! you are sooo dry after surgery, handcream, comb or brush. My hospital gave us these slipper socks with rubber for walking but I had packed socks and slip on soft sneakers for walking. Didn't need them. I brought a book, my Ipad. Didn't open either one. When I wasn't walking, I really was resting. I didn't even watch TV. My sis and my hubby came up a couple times to visit. Then you are getting visits from nurses and drs. I was in hospital 2 days and it really went by very fast. You'll do great!

The only reason I am worried is because I NEVER EVER EVER take time for myself. To eat or drink. Sometimes I eat a can of chicken right out of the cabinet, standing at the sink. I work out of a home office for a firm and have for over 10 years. I'm VERY VERY hard on myself. I'm a "perfectionist" with everything except ME. So I'm last on the list and I need to make myself FIRST on the list. I never have my whole life and I'm 56. So that will be struggle. So I'm not nervous about eating or not eating in front of people or people knowing or asking questions. I'm very buffered from that. But not taking the time because of an insane job with constant deadlines.....yes....I'm extremely nervous about that. I don't want to get sick or end up in the hospital because I don't stop to drink or stop to get my Protein in. The only thing that I heard is that we may be pretty darned tired after only a week. So here's to US managing our damned jobs! LOL! Oh and yes....I'm one of those that barely eats during the day and then pigs out at night and goes to bed 3 hrs later. HENCE THE WEIGHT. So yes, I have a whole lotta work on ME to do. Good luck to you

Jeez those pain meds in hospital are amazing. They prescribed me Oxy as well but I picked up sugar free liquid Tylenol and if I can help it, that's all I'm taking. They told me that energy would be low. We are on very low calories so body is dialing it back so we "survive". I've heard that after a week or so, energy levels will pick up and I guess the more Protein we get in, the better for healing and energy. good luck!!!

OK I had a bit of a setback. I am lactose intolerant. Been for years. I tried many products before surgery and they sat ok with me. Typically whey isolate is ok VS the other whey. Greek yogurt typically doesn't bother me but non-greek does. Well....I had pure diarrhea early this morning for at least 3 hours non stop. I KNOW I cannot afford to lose liquid like that. I'll get dehydrated. I have not yet managed to get to 64 oz or more a day. I thought I would be able to no problem but I cannot yet. SO....I decided to go back to liquids for today and kinda reset my gut. I asked my nurse if I could become MORE lactose intolerant and she said absolutely. So no dairy, whey, yogurt or even lactose free milk for me today. I'm FREAKIN STARVING. At least I'm getting my liquids in! I am BEYOND ready to move to puree stage. I can't until after Nov 29th meeting with surgeon. At least then I can get in chicken and fish for Protein and not rely so much on dairy products. This NOTHING but some form of dairy for almost a week was my downfall today. I will try at least ONE meal with Protein Drink tomorrow see how I feel. I'm terrified of losing what little hair I have left so I need that protein. As far as incisions, nothing has ever pained or hurt me. I walked my dogs daily. Yesterday I did 3 miles. Slower than normal but 3. Today I did a shorter one because (a) I'm back working and (b) I almost felt like I had low blood sugar from not eating. Nov 29th...HURRY!!

Hey guys! The name is Jade, I'm 28 and I was sleeved 11/8 of this year and have lost 40lbs so far (including the 33lbs I lost during the 2 week pre-op liquid diet phase).
    Haven't weighed myself since my post-op appt. on the 16th (I don't own a scale.....yet lol).
So far, it's been pretty good. The only time I had nausea was chewing those nasty Bariatric Advantage chewable Multivitamins (Orange Flavored) and drinking Water right after. YUCKY! I can't wait until I'm able to take swallow-type pills (?) Also, I was happy to be able to have started my pureed diet a day early. Made some pretty good tuna egg salad (chopped like crazy).
Message me for any broth & Soup recipes for pre and post-op......I have TONS. haha

I was going to say the same thing. Make sure you can take in Water, broth, tea, Jello. That type of thing. Then if you can, try protein with one meal. you can even get the unflavored protein (Genpro or Unjury) and add it to broth or tea. This is what I do when I cannot stand to drink another shake. I also will take 1/4 cup plain 0% Fage greek yogurt and add a scoop of unflavored protein and a tablespoon of sugar free pudding (vanilla or chocolate). I add some water and then I take my time eating that. Just go slow. We'll all get there. good luck

YES! Right inbetween my breasts. It's like my stomach is seizing up. We all think our stomach is the middle of our body but it's actually up higher. It does that when I've gone a long time without drinking Protein (what I call eating LOL) or liquids. Like middle of the night when you've been sleeping 5 hours. A few nights I actually got up and took some sips of Protein Drink or had some yogurt. My nurse told me not to do that. But jeez...there have been times in my life before surgery where I have been STARVING during the night and couldn't sleep till I had a yogurt or oatmeal or toast or something. I feel it's no different.

Oh good luck with your journey you two Nov 1 sleevers! Keep posting how things are going. I go in two days. Right now, I'M STARVING. My gosh I hate nausea so bad. I think it's the pain meds and nothing in our guts for a few days before surgery. That's what Vitamins do to me when I take them before I've eaten. Stay strong!!! Sounds like maybe the worst is behind you! I think that all newbies struggle with getting in the Protein. We have limited volume but alot of protein and Water to get in!!

You know I had that...really really bad pain in between my breasts. THAT'S where your new stomache is. We always think it's like below our ribs. I figured out that mine will what I call seize up if I am super hungry. Terrible awful pain. So that's why sometimes I make a yogurt with Protein Powder in it (like PB Protein powder) and thin it with a little water. Just to put something THICKER than LIQUID in it. That seems to do the trick. Like I wake up every morning with that pain cuz I'm starving. I can't wait for puree foods!!! Good luck but just be careful in case it's not your new tummy.

Question...for those that have had the surgery already and those that are close. Does your surgeon put a Scopolamine patch behind your ear before surgery? My dr does. I've used these before for air and sea sickness. I wonder if he does it because of the nausea?

Yup you are a November sleever LOL What a difference around the world with the "diet" and even all over the USA. I will be on liquids ONLY for 3.5 weeks. Then I will be on puree foods for 3 weeks, then soft foods for 3-4 weeks and then start small meals. So your puree potatoe and cottage cheese that you ate after a week, I cannot have for 3.5 weeks. Though I will like the full liquid diet so much better than this clear liquid diet. At least full liquid has Protein Drinks which fill you up. Course I have not been sleeved yet. Two days. Thanks for sharing your story. I think all of us "pending" are curious and even nervous about what to expect. Everyone's experience is so different. Continued good luck to you!!!

I don't have any of this at all. BUT...I just asked my husband if he could help me with the stuff left over from the taping on the bandages. I think I may be allergic to it. I have a pretty good rash going on and one started. All in the area where the tape glue is. It's my biggest incision..the one they took the stomach out from and put the drain in. So it had a bigger bandage on it. The other ones just had glue. I just can't see it good enough to get on my own. I want to try to get that excess glue off before I'm a big huge rash!!! Only an itching now an again on a healing smaller incision. No pain, no burning. Keep track of that burning esp if it changes color or oozes.
