I drink my 64 oz of Water with no issues along with 120grams of Protein Shakes. I just finished a bowl of pureed asparagus Soup with no issues either. What am I doing wrong? I listen to people talk about how hard it is to drink Water and I am able to do the program with no issues. Can I be stretching out my stomach already? Either I am the luckiest guy in the world or I am really screwing myself up. I feel a little knot in my upper chest around the breastplate, I guess that's my new full feeling.

Can I ask how much water you drank before surgery? I drink over a gallon a day now and I worry about not being able to get enough after surgery. Maybe it's easier if you drank more before?

  2. Hey all...

I had routine doctors appointments that turned up an unexpected issue that needs to be addressed. A cyst on my ovary has grown and changed in appearance, so my doctor wants that ovary removed. We're waiting for a consult to determine if it can wait until I'm approved and schedule for my sleeve, but the doctor wants it out ASAP.

Has anyone else experienced unexpected finds like this? Did it effect getting approval for your bariatric procedure or impact the timeline for surgery?

I have been struggling with PCOS for 9 years. I have had several months without a cycle and times where my cycle would last for 2-3 months. I had vsg on 7/31 and got my cycle twice last month. My surgeon explained that it's due to flood of estrogen but stated confidently that my pcos would go away.

That is excellent news! I have PCOS and have cycles...well, whenever they feel like it. It would be nice to be able to predict when they should arrive.

Maybe TMI, but I seriously struggle with facial hair sometimes...does that get any better?

  4. I've told my parents. They're my sounding board and sanity often times lol. I need their support. I also told my sister because she won't judge me for it (she's worried about me coming through the surgery, but other than that totally on board with it). And my younger brother knows, kind of; I don't know if he pays enough attention to know that I'm serious about following through on it this time (I had a false start about two years ago). I mentioned it in passing to my sister in law (married to my older brother) a while ago, but I haven't said anything else about it to either her or my older brother since then and I won't until I have a surgery date or until it's done. Despite having PCOS and no longer having a thyroid, I don't trust my athletic older brother to be supportive of my decision (even though his mother in law and sister in law have both had wls and his other sister in law was recently approved for it).

I haven't told my current coworkers, although I did mention it in an email to my boss. That was only because I just passed probation and have a gazillion appointments to try to get approved....hoping it all goes well and isn't for naught!

  5. I can definitely understand where you're coming from. I just started this whole journey (I had my first surgeon consult on Monday) and I want to sit on my couch and eat everything tasty (crackers, Cookies, chips), but I have a [manageable] weight loss goal to meet and I want to start forming those good habits, so when I grocery shop Friday, I'm going to fight all those urges to bring empty foods home.

    You've got this.
