    What Can You NOT Eat?

I am 10 weeks post op today, and have only lost about 15 pounds, but I can still eat anything I want, just way less. I am 5'6 weighed 252 the day of surgery. I want to lose 100 total and I will be at my goal. I have had 2 fills and have a total of 6 ccs in a 10 cc ap band. My husband just had his band the new realize band in 2 weeks ago today and he cant eat hardly anything, like his shakes and stuff just don't hardly go down. He is same weight but 5'8. So he has lost already 12 pounds....anyway, hoping together we can encourage one another....but I have been a little disapointed at how I can eat anything, bread, rice, steak, an occassional coke....:sad:nothing causes pain or discomfort....my husband puked on a tiny piece of bread! I even made them x-ray me and make sure band was in place...lol. It was, I am just going to be one of those who has to be tighter I guess. Good luck to all!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hey thanks for the reply! I have also talked to my nurse who has told me the same thing, she said on the 18th when I get my third fill that I probably wont get 2 cc's or I will be too tight. I sure hope so. She said not to worry that it is working and even if the weight comes off slower than others, it is still coming off. She said also that the less you have to lose the slower the loss....well I was 115 over and I have lost close to 15, but two sizes jeans....guess for 10 weeks that is okay. Just crazy at how fast some on here are losing! A lady in my church has lost 60 pounds in 3 months. She eats salad all day. So I am hoping they are right, I just want to be too tight for awhile! Then I think I would really start seeing weight loss....but at the same time, don't want to lose my hair either. Havent had that yet! Yikes! Again, thanks....and how much have you lost and when were you banded?

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I have had two fills now, was banded on March 19th 08. I have a 10cc ap band, and have 6 cc's in. The first time was 4 cc's and 2 ccs on May 28th. I fell tight for a day or two then nothing. It worries me that I can only have 4 more cc's in my band! I am 5'5 weight was 252 on surgery day and I am 240 now. So woohoo, 12 pounds in what 10 weeks now? I feel like it is going slow....I have went down from a 18 jeans to a 14 but they are snug...hoping this will speed up, have to wait till end of month for another fill, and I see on here where people have had like 10 fills and they get like .05 cc's at a time. Geez, I have a ton compared to that already and don't feel tight yet. Anyone with this problem, will it get better? I guess I want to NOT be able to eat anything for awhile. I WANT TOO TIGHT for awhile.....

    unsuccessful lapband results

Hey there! I had my band on March 18th 2008/ I lost fast the first month, like 15 pounds....then had my first fill at 6 weeks. 4 ccs in a 10 cc band. Then on June 28th I had 2 more ccs put in and I still do not feel tight enough. Yes, I eat less than before, but I wanted to puke I guess everytime I ate for awhile...lol. I just dont want to be able to eat and I am afraid that I can only have 4 more ccs and I am maxed out, and I see people on here with 3.5 or 0.5 after ten fills and they are tight and losing like crazy, I know there are different types and sizes, but I am already frustrated too, but signed on here to get some encouragment...My husband just had it two weeks ago today and he had the new realize band, and he is of course losing like crazy being a guy....but I want it to work for me too, hang in there. We will make it, everyone keeps telling me it's only a tool and you have to find your sweet spot and get tight enough....I am 5'5 weighed 252 day of surgery and now weigh about 238....hang in there!
  5. I just had my surgery last week after trying for 4 years to get insurance approval and going back and forth between the Roux-n-Y gastric bypass ands the Lap-Band. Out of the blue I got a call from the surgery center I had gone to for approval over two years ago, and she told me that my insurance now approved the Lap-Band procedure! I was so excited, and in less than three weeks, I had my surgery! I am 5'5 and weighed 242 on surgery day. I had my surgery in Overland Park Kansas, and Dr. Nighgro (sp?)was my surgeon. I did great, other than the pain from the gas after the surgery. Now I am having a little bit of pain on my left side right above my ribcage under my breast. My nurse thinks I irritated my stomach pouch by eating too soon ( I ate some rice) and is calling me in some steroids for swelling in the morning if I still hurt. I am so excited and can't wait to get on with the rest of my life in a much healthier fashion. I have many friends and family who have done this with great success. I am a little worried about this pain. Anyone else have this problem?

    Banded on March 19th!!!

still having that pain in my upper left side above rib cage, maybe a gas pocket? Could that last a couple of days? If I lay on my stomach the pressure feels good. I can't find my nurses cell number that I was supposed to call her this morning for the steroids, I will have to wait till Monday now. I took some of my lortab a few minutes ago, but I am just afraid my band slipped...I can eat fine though, and no nausea or anything. Just that consistant pain in the same spot.
