    Help, Please.

I'm on a high protein, low fat diet....of my own making. i eat a protein bar for breakfast, cottage cheese and a salad for lunch, and chicken or tuna with vegetables for dinner. Some days I will have a smoothie consisting of no fat yogurt with a banana. i have used this in the past, and lost weight very quickly.

    Help, Please.

Thank you so much. It helps to know that others understand. I am so sorry that you were fired, and hope you found an even better position. Perhaps I should wait and weigh myself at my doctor's appointments only. That may be my answer. I do want this so much, and am trying so hard. Thank you again! 😀

    Help, Please.

I don't know what your problem is, but would you please just stop? How do you know what challenges I have already been through? I don't owe you explanations as to what I have been through medically or otherwise. And, I don't see the need in having a contest as to who has been through more surgeries, etc. Please just go on your merry way, and leave me alone. I don't need know-it-alls in my life.

Oh, thank you so much! A little encouragement goes a long way! ❤️

    Help, Please.

I joined this forum for encouragement, not to be told off by someone who ASSUMES I'm not all in, and assumes they know me. We are each different with different makeups and age. I am much older than you, and you have no clue what it's like to be my age. When I say that I haven't lost weight in two weeks and that I am discouraged, it's because this is extremely unusual for me. I wouldn't have made my original post if I didn't feel like something was off. Here's the deal. Respect your elders, and stop assuming.

    Help, Please.

Thank you for your kind reply. Yes, I have had numerous tests and x-rays already, but I will keep this in mind. Thank you.

  8. Forgive me, but I know nothing about all of this. I use Amazon all the time, but do not have Prime at the time. Do I need to get Prime to order Whole Foods? This idea sounds like heaven to me!!

    Anyone jealous?

I wouldn't tell her, but she's going to be jealous anyway after you lose all that weight. 😀

    Anyone Feel Sick Simply Dieting?

I need to find out if I am diabetic. I've eaten less than this when I've dieted before, and never felt like this. But congrats on your weight loss!!!!!

    Anyone Feel Sick Simply Dieting?

No. I'm just at the beginning stage of losing the required weight.

    H Pylori Breath Test

I know exactly what you're talking about! My surgeon gave me my lab work to be done, and it included the breath test. I never heard of the breath test. I just thought I had to go to any lab. Thinking I could save time by seeing a clinic associated with my hospital, I set out to get my lab work this morning. I did not realize that not all labs did the breath test. I tried three different labs, only to be told they don't do the breath test. So I drove directly to my hospital. Even there I was told it was a special lab, not the ordinary hospital's lab, so I had to go to a different building by the hospital. Just call around first to save you time while you're starving to death. (Fasting) I had to blow into this small bag. Then I was given a small amount of liquid to drink. Fifteen minutes later I had to blow into another small bag. The drink was not bad at all, and it wasn't very much.
  15. I got the month on my first visit. It was such a relief rather than being in limbo.
  16. This is my first post, and I would truly appreciate any and all replies. I am confused about seeing my doctor before knowing that I'm approved. I have Medicare (not Medicare Advantage) with Blue Cross/Blue Shield being my secondary. A few weeks ago I sent in all my paperwork including insurance information to my surgeon. Tomorrow I have an appointment with him. To my knowledge I have not yet been approved by my insurance to have surgery. So my question is, is this normal? Do you see your surgeon and go through all the hoops before ever being approved? I guess it's just not making sense to me. Thank you so much!

    Seeing Doctor Before Approval?

Thank you for replying. I saw my surgeon, was told I was approved, and started the entire process of tests, etc. I don't even have much weight to lose before surgery. I'm convinced it all depends on your insurance.
  18. I agree with everything you said. Amen! I wish I could be more like you. I've had to work my entire life on not worrying what people think about me. It's such a waste of emotional energy. 😀
  19. I'm going to play devil's advocate here just to throw out some possibilities that MAY happen. I'm most likely older than you, and, for me, I have never worked in a place that I could trust, including my supervisors, to keep something quiet. Knowing me, I would always be wondering if people already knew, and then I would worry that I sounded like I was lying. But that's me. I worry too much about what people are thinking about me. My guess is that when you are losing weight so rapidly, people are going to suspect that you had WLS anyway. They will already be gossiping about it. It would be great if, in your mind, you were ready for all of that. Know that gossip may still happen, but stick with your answer to everyone. I will be following you and your journey. All the best to you! You're going to do great and look wonderful!!

    Seeing Doctor Before Approval?

Congratulations on your surety date! My meeting with my surgeon went so smoothly! I was told how many pounds I needed to lose, what tests need to be done, and was told my insurance always pays. Surgery in a few months!!! 😀😀😀
  21. My surgeon told me that I could not have a sleeve due to having hiatal hernia surgery a few years ago. I need to have the bypass. Along with the bypass, he must revise the previous HH surgery. Has anyone had this done? Was it considered more risky? Were there more complications? I'm more anxious than I already was just having the sleeve.

Previous Hiatal Hernia Surgery Changing Everything

The problem was not having a hiatal hernia, but having a previous hiatal hernia surgery a few years ago. I'm sort of glad that I will have the bypass because it's supposed to be better in the long run. 😀
