    Wife not Supportive

you dont give much info. are you seriously overweight, have other health problems caused or made worse by your weight. is your weight defining your life? you dont say why she is not in favor. I would say get surgery anyway. this is about you not her. You have to place your very life ahead of her fears about a very safe surgery.
  2. ok this one is a tough one to get thru  but the section on circadian rhythms is real interesting.

    2 years out

you said it right there. eat from the 3 walls 1 veggie fruit only if your losing weight or at your maint. weight 2 meat 3 dairy nothing from the processed boxes in the middle. the closer you work your way to this the easier the weight will come off. get your total daily sugar grams down to 10 or lower and dont eat anything after dinner NO snacking of any kind good luck and dont give up

Tips on breaking the sugar addiction

as you said its a zero sum game when it comes to sweets. some people cant have even a little and it appears you are one of that group. Its bread for me if i have a little i get so hungry its crazy. the only way is to cut them out. no little bit here little bit there. Others may be able to have small amounts but for some it all or nothing. accept this and move on with your life. No piece of candy is worth the mental anguish you are putting yourself thru right now or the damage to your progress cause by a candy binge. good luck and put this behind you but don't forget.
  5. yep this right here. everything i eat is normal food found on any dinner plate in the country but in a small portion and without the processed carbs of any kind. If i have learned 1 thing in the last 10 months it is processed carbs will kill me if i let them. It is that simple. have your "normal" food and enjoy each bite and never think about it again. The only issue you will have is if you think normal food comes processed and sold in a box from the center of the store. Stick to the 3 walls and you will have a lock on this whole post op eating thing.

    Concerns about calorie intake

so this number is your maintenance number and you will need to stay just under this to lower your weight . Hormones are the driver of weight loss so your changing medical condition will have an effect that you will have to work to overcome. do your workouts include resistance training. The best way to maintain your metabolism is to increase muscle mass so that you burn more calories on a daily basis as well as the from the workout. good luck
  8. i am sorry you are having such a tough post op. I am glad you are going back to the doctor because your situation is not the norm. sure some have a rougher few weeks than others but everyone gets better even if slowly so you need to see the doctor and work towards finding what is holding back your recovery. good luck
  9. i am glad to see you made it thru the first stage. that is hard on everyone even if you plan for it. now as you add new foods it gets easier with each passing month. Acid reflux is a real issue with the sleeve so you may be taking that med for life. good luck and stay positive
  10. no pre op diet here. I didn't even realize how lucky i was till i got here and read about the 2 week liquid diet pre op that so many others have to go thru.

    YAY! Healthy BMI

grats that is a great achievement.
  12. your numbers at this point post op are good try to wait it out if you feel the need to try something lower the carbs to 20 or less and only eat during a 8 hour window of your choice but just do water for the other 16 hours. half of this is while your asleep so its not as scary as it looks. If that doesn't fire up the fat burning over the next 2 weeks put in a call to your doctor for a blood panel to check everything
  13. grats on your progress so far and i hope you have a speedy recovery. stay positive
  14. i order from the appetizers and ask for my iced tea in a to go cup right from the start. as for the rest it is as much habit as anything. you need a consistent time then just go don't think it over just go at the same time everyday just like an appointment. you create the habit of doing it so it is not a decision you have to make. after you get there it is easy to go thru the routine just get yourself there.
  15. i also had no pre op diet beyond the 48 hours before surgery and that was clear liquid.
  16. no what i mean is that in the early months the very small amounts of food you can actually eat helps keep you on track. you can't eat enough to do real bad things to yourself even if you wanted to. Each month out it gets easier to eat and you move up from 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup then up to 1/2 and beyond. If you don't build coping strategies for whatever your food issues are and we all have them or we would not be here then as the restriction from the sleeve decreases you can fall back on poor food choices and the restriction will not be there to stop you. Use the early months to work on this. If at any time you thought the sleeve would save you from yourself you were mistaken. you can make bad choices and gain the weight back. The sleeve is a tool nothing more.
  17. the 42 will be here if you make before short season ends

  19. you really really need to find out how much he took. Right now you are healing and you need to follow that liquid diet. Once you are fully healed what happens next will depend on how much was cut out. do you have a sleeve - 2 fingers wide 4 fingers long or do you just have a smaller stomach. This is very important it will determine how you approach the next 12-18 months with your eating plan. so for now follow that liquid diet and let those stitches heal - during this time find out just how much was taken and if you have a sleeve get in touch with someone who works with sleeve patients and work out a plan. I am sorry this has been dropped on you with no notice but you can survive even if it turns out to be a full sleeve. the next year will be interesting but it will get easier the further out you get. good luck
