  1. Hang in there girl, Im glad that I reached out and see others that are in the same boat as me. Makes me feel tons better. I guess we have to just keep plugging away, I mean no loss is still better than a gain. In the meantime Im just going to make some very short term goals, so Im going to try to lose 5 pounds before i head to Disney in 7 weeks. Hopefully I can manage that! And that will be a feat in itself not to gain during that week, hopefully all the walking will offset any tastes of dole whips and churros I may have, lol.
  2. We have almost the same stats, you have done much better than me! I would be ecstatic to be at 175. My practice doesn't set goals, however my own personal goal is to get under 200 then Ill reset a new goal from there. That little 2 lb yoyo really messes with your mind. I know I shouldn't go on the scale as often as I do but it keeps me focused.
  3. You all have done so great! I've only lost 64 lbs, and 20 of that was pre surgery. I've always been a slow loser but I expected much more. I wonder if my diabetes is a factor. Which is sadly one of the big reasons I did this, still struggling with my blood sugars even on an almost full low-carb diet.
  4. How come our group has fizzled out?? Speaking of fizzling out.. so has my weight loss! Anyone else slow to a crawl?
  5. my doc said to keep incision sites sunscreened, it will help them to fade
  6. My Dr. also uses a 40 for all her patients. I had nausea for about 10 days after surgery, but none since then. I also had no issues with reflux or vomiting so I was happy with the results of the 40 bougie.
  7. Lotte I feel the same as you somewhat. In my first few weeks I was chewing chewing and eating really slow like my Dr. told me to very little resistance but I didn't push it past 4 oz, but definitely could do more if i wanted to. I've recently realized because I was super hungry one day and ate a little on the fast side and didn't super chew that I felt much more restriction and fuller that way. So now I just eat at my normal pace pre surgery and that seems to help. I think all the slowness and chewing was allowing food to slip thru my sleeve easier, thus making overeating possible.
  8. I had a cup of clam chowder it was also creamy and delicious. Had a few oyster crackers on top too.
  9. Almost 1 month out for me, I gained 2 lbs a couple of weeks in.. I think its just our bodies readjusting. I felt good and was able to tolerate food very easy. I actually started my mush phase a couple of days early because I was feeling real hunger not head hunger. But I think by actually doing well and being able to take in decent (i think) calories my weight loss has been slower than I expected. Friday will be my 1 month and I'm at 12 lbs down post surgery.
  10. Curious as to how much weight people have lost at the 1 month mark as we get into January? I'm 24 days since surgery so I have 6 more days to go but I've only lost 11 lbs with the bulk of it right at the beginning. Feeling like I'm losing slower. Where are you all at?
  11. The first time I was able to eat a decent amount of cream of chicken soup it knocked me out like I ate a giant turkey dinner lol.
  12. I am a diabetic, low blood sugars can definitely cause confusion and feeling out of it. They told me if my blood sugar was too low to drink a little apple juice. Hope she feels better soon!
  13. Aimee that doesn't sound good at all. The back pain could be your kidneys, are you peeing enough?
  14. I bought my hubby a GERD pillow on Amazon. Its just a wedge that keeps you elevated and you put your own pillow right on top. He hasn't had anymore gagging since sleeping elevated.
  15. I had tuna, it was a little kit that had tuna with light mayo and a few wheat crackers. It went down fine and it had a lot of protein in it.
  16. I second this advice! I took a little over half a dose of Miralax, and that was more than enough to work!
  17. That sounds great, I've just started with soft foods so I'm definitely going to try that! I'd like to have a few options to take for lunch when I return to work next week. I'd rather not try anything new while at work and feel sick. So happy to hear we are all in the same boat but ultimately I think it means we are doing well just needed to hear it from others.
  18. Merry Christmas everyone! Made a ricotta bake today this is the first time I felt any restriction after about 3 oz. Up until today I could do protein shakes, drinks, puddings very easy. Can even eat a whole yogurt with out any discomfort. Im glad I finally felt full I was starting to wonder if I ever got sleeved! kidding of course. Hope you all are doing well.
  19. Checking in how is everyone making out? 7 days post op down 7 lbs. Had a can of creamy chicken soup today and it was like having a giant turkey dinner and I even zonked out right after. Never thought a can of soup could taste so good. Where is everyone at food and weight wise?
  20. Hang in there! sometimes we do our best healing at home. You will get there, and you will be healthier for it.
  21. Hang in there! I had my surgery the same day as you and have had terrible nausea. BUT I am feeling a bit better every day and walking 10 minutes at a time feels like I just finished a marathon. I couldn't do protein shakes till yesterday but they really give you a little energy boost.
  22. Today I made a concoction of half a premier protein shake, half cup of fairlife milk, and some powdered peanut butter. Its a lot less thick. And from what I could compute had about 26 grams of protein, so not too shabby and easier to drink. (for me)
  23. Im so happy to hear your nausea is getting better. My surgery was on the 12 and the nausea is awful. If it wasnt for that I'd be running laps! Well not really but I'd feel a ton better.
