I was told to expect at least 20 lbs and I lost 25lbs. I have a friend who revised after not losing all of her weight with VSG and she went on to lose 70lbs I think. As long as you follow the plan after surgery you will lose the weight. Good luck to you !!

They have kicked the guy off. The comments made were back in June. Good Luck on your journey !

- I agree with @novaLuna dont beat yourself up. During weight loss phase I didnt track on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I ate what I wanted and yes I felt guilty but honestly those were the only times I ate off plan aside from my nieces wedding that first year and I still hit my goal that first year. Be kind to yourself and good luck on your journey ! -
Today I hit my personal private goal !!!!! I lost half of my body weight !!!! UNBELIEVEABLE !!! 155lbs !!

It was worse a lot earlier but the stomach pain comes and goes . Please help me 😭
I have horrible dumping too !!! I am aware of what causes it and I try to be as careful as possible. it usually lasts 2 hours and 1 time it went on for 4 hours. I stay away from certain foods and try to be mindful of how much I eat.

I had a revision on May 23 2020 due to gerd that caused erosive esophagitis D. 6 months later it has gone down to A which is great. I still have burning and am going to have the bravo test soon to find out why I am still producing so much acid since I am still taking 60mg Dexilant, pepcid at night, and carafette.

You are still early out so I doubt its re gain. Fluctuations of a few lbs are normal during weight loss. Your menstrual cycle, body holding Water, ect have a lot to do with those fluctuations .
Exercise is only 10% of weight loss is what I have read and I myself did not exercise to lose my weight because of my lower back. Sticking to your plan will get you to the weight you want to be at. Good luck

1 hour ago, Coexister said:I had revision due to bad reflux that was causing damage to my vocal chords but I also never reached my goal weight with the sleeve. I am hoping to reach 145 with this revision. I am currently at 154 and seem to be holding steady and am hoping for another drop. ; ) I was about 173 pre-surgery before the pre-op diet. I am now eating regular foods and am now realizing that there is a restriction and that if I do eat too much, it hurts really bad. I have had a few episodes with dumping however my body doesn't throw things up. I think it's because of the hiatal hernia repair with mesh that keeps foods from coming up. I wish I could throw up as it would be easier and provide relief at times but my body was always one that to hold things down and just make me suffer. So instead, I get the sweats and the pains and just suffer for a period of time. I am pretty much noticing that there is no indication of "about full" and that I am going to have to measure stuff and just stop before reaching the point the of no return. It seems to be all or nothing with this pouch. Once it realizes it is full, it's too late and I have overdone it. I probably need to learn to slow down even more and see if that works but I don't seem to get a signal to the brain that I am full? Maybe, I just never feel hungry and am just eating because I know I need too and so there is no signal because the head doesn't think it is hungry? I guess I need to take stock of what my body is feeling more and see where it goes. I am so terrified of drinking because it goes down so easy and I am always afraid that I am drinking too fast as being told that I could stretch my pouch by drinking to fast. So with that I am constantly trying to slow down my drinking and making sure I don't gulp down Water. My bowels are definitely acting different and I am hoping they level out at some point and they get easier as well as I am currently living on Miralax twice daily to keep things smooth, LOL. This is definitely a different journey then the sleeve. Seems the sleeve was easier?
I am the exact same way !!! I dont get the signal either until its too late. I had to start measuring food again because I can eat more with this bypass and it gets me into trouble with feeling like crap afterwards. I have to lay down and I cant throw up either so I suffer too. The sleeve was easier for me because it felt more natural. I knew when to stop.
I am sure you will have no problem reaching your goal and more then likely you will go under 145 !! Best of luck

GREAT NEWS !!!! I had my EGD this morning and I have went from esophagitis grade D to grade A !!!! I am healing and I dont have ulcers !!!
Bad news the meds didnt knock me out and I was awake this time !!! Groggy but awake. They said my vitals were dropping and could not give me anymore medication. I went in with a 47 heart rate to begin with and my blood pressure is always low too ...........I dont know what it dropped down to for them to not give me more meds to put me out.
They are sending me to the hospital next time to do an acid test since I am still burning and this time they will knock me out !

I have to lay down at some points during the day. I'm able to get my Protein in since I have it in everything I eat and drink. So have to say it's not that bad now that the swelling in my stomach has gone down.

Congrats !!! The recovery time was better I thought with the revision. The pain was worse though after surgery. Glad you are doing well and getting all your Protein needs met.

I am 8 weeks post op today and my program and dietician have given me a meal plan that has bread in for Breakfast and lunch. I have not followed it until now. I have lost about 25lbs and they say this is because I am not consuming bread. It is about 2 slices per meal so 4 per day. I must also say that I am not a bread person. I feel like this is wrong. Does anyone else have such a program?
There is no way a WLS patient 8 weeks out can eat 2 pieces of bread in a sitting and I highly doubt they could eat even 1 piece without getting sick. Be careful and good luck to you.

If you have not reached goal you may be asking for trouble. Watch out for the daily Protein bar some WLS patients get addicted to them like candy. They are loaded with calories. I see you are only 4 months out these foods you are considering are dangerous in their own right and in my opinion you would be best to eat them only on occasion until you reach your goal. Just because they say its good for you doesnt mean it is. Good luck !

23 minutes ago, Ms. Yvette said:I'm worried about the "restriction". A lot of VSG revision patients have said the same thing. They do not feel any restriction. Which goes to show, the mental part of this is so hard. Good for you. Keep up the hard, but good work.
Are you revising because of reflux, weight gain, or both? Not having restriction wont keep you from losing weight if that is what you are worried about. In fact I lost 12 lbs the first month after revision and weighed 180 at the time. In 2017 I weighed 296 the day of VSG surgery and only lost 14 lbs. You wont overeat because you will get sick and if you dump that is just as bad. ( at least it is for me lol ) I get violently ill and can lasts a few hours. Once it lasted 4 hours. Good luck to you !

Yes and I had bad anxiety over all the changes and the things that were happening at the time. I would say by 4 to 6 weeks I was okay as far as tiredness. What do you think about it so far versus the sleeve ? Are you eating solids? Dr. Edwards let me move quickly and at 1 week I was eating soft food. Wendy wasnt too happy if I remember correctly but they moved me the same way when I had VSG so I wasnt to concerned and did fine.

6 hours ago, Ms. Yvette said:Tracy, did you lose 20 pounds in 6 months?
Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app
I lost the 20 in about 10 weeks and it was actually 22 lbs. I now bounce around 5 lbs but am having no problems keeping it in that range. With VSG I wasnt able to get under 164.8 and struggled to stay under 170. I am not having that problem with this revision, but am missing the restriction from the VSG.
-
I know exactly what you are talking about and going through. It really messed with my head not feeling anything and fear/anxiety that I would gain all the weight back from not having restriction. I am 6 months out today and all is well as far as weight goes. You will lose at least 20 lbs and if you want to lose more you will. I still have no restrictive feeling but if I over eat I will get sick and trust me you dont want to get sick. If you are a dumper like me you wont be able to eat the wrong foods and will find out quickly what those are !! Good luck to you !

Sorry you are having all the issues. I would imagine you will lose the first 2 weeks but bounce back after that. I am able to eat more with the RNY then I did with the sleeve and progressed to soft foods at one week post op. Good luck to you !!
