  1. Today I am having

    Breakfast 1 egg scrambled and 2 or 3 slices of bacon

    lunch 3 oz stuffed pork chop and asparagus ( last night leftovers )

    dinner teriyaki chicken with rice ( 3 oz chicken, 1/4 cup rice, 3 to 4 pineapple chunks )

    If I have a snack it will be Chobani key lime yogurt and/or almonds. If I cant finish a meal ( which happens a lot still ) I go back and finish it later.

    Totaling everything up with the yogurt I am hitting 841 calories. 72 carbs 29 fat 71 Protein .

    Sure does seem like this should be more than 841 calories and this is why I quit tracking. I would make sure I was getting in 1200 to 1500 calories and my weight would stay 10 to 15 pounds heavier then I am now when I tracked. I quit tracking this past Christmas and I still get my protein, so I happy.

    How many of you have done one or more of the following? Not that I want to share or promote any bad habits, I just want to know that it will be okay if we don't live our lives like a schedule making sure we do everything to the dot each and every single day for the rest of our lives. Sometimes things come up, or we fall off track for short periods of time, but that it will be okay if it occurs sometimes accidentally....any thoughts?

    For example

    Skipped taking Vitamins everyday because they forgot etc...

    Drank while eating a meal

    Took an NSAID here or there for a particular reason

    Didn't get in their daily Protein intake

    Ate out for most of their meals

    You and I are only 2 weeks a part surgery wise.

    I have skipped my Vitamins and it is not as big an issue for us VSG, but we do need them especially early on.

    I cannot drink with meals because it hurts and sometimes I have to wait more then an hour because of the pressure.

    I have a prescription from my bariatric team for 800 mg ibuprofen. VSG here are allowed NSAID.

    Some days on vacation I have not gotten all my Protein

    I have on vacation ate out quite a bit but do try to make the best choices.

    I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and during the day I am fine but at night I have a burning sensation in my throat. I realized this may be acid reflux? I never had it before my surgery and had I known this would occur I may have chosen bariatric surgery instead. Does anyone have the same symptoms? Is this forever?

    I got reflux immediately after surgery. Medication controls it now. I have read as you lose the weight you also may lose the reflux, this has not been my experience thus far, but I have cut my dose in half . Good luck

  4. Breakfast 3 cubes cantaloupe and 1/2 cup cottage cheese

    snack egg and grits. I did this in reverse

    lunch parmesan crusted tilapia filet baked

    dinner stuffed pork chop 3-4 oz with asparagus and chopped salad

    I wont be able to eat all of my dinner, so I will eat the rest as a snack later this evening. I also don't track anymore so I don't know my macros

    @FluffyChix & @ms.sss

    I am fascinated by this thread. I have questions and hope neither of you are offended.

    @ms.sss

    More sincere questions! Do you truly want to stop losing, or are you liking how you are looking and feeling and think you might want to go lower? I'm asking because you're still eating like you are in weight loss mode (shirataki noodles, salads w super low cal dressing etc.). The days you are eating close to "normally", you are still likely under your BMR, but seem to feel like you need to correct afterwards. It just seems like there is a disconnect between what you say you want, and your actions.

    @FluffyChix

    You've discussed a lot about your goals, 1, 2, 3 and BDG (Barbie Dream Goal 😂). You are solidly at a healthy BMI. What is it that is driving you to work so very hard to get even lower? A lot of days you are at an extreme calories deficiency, which is hard to sustain long term, right? Are you concerned if you get there, what it will be like to maintain it? And if you can't sustain it (which would be expected, right, the bounce?), if that would make you feel worse? You sincerely look very thin and amazing. But I know from your comments you still feel heavier than you truly are (OOTD & Meh the scale threads). Do think maybe you'll never been thin enough because you're looking at yourself in a dysmorphic fun house mirror?

    Question for both of you: Do you worry about lowering your BMR long term? For me personally this study scared the crap out of me https://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/02/health/biggest-loser-weight-loss.html

    Hope you both don't hate me now! 😀

    Was thinking the same thing about ms.sss and calorie intakes of 500. I could never do that except in the early days but then I have a higher BMI.

    So far this morning I have eaten 3 cubes of cantaloupe and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, wishing I would have eaten the egg and bacon instead because I still feel hungry, guess I will drink Water and take a tums just in case it is heartburn in disguise

    when you all say "slippery slope", what exactly do you mean? You will end up eating too much? Or they lead to other bad foods? Not sure I understand. Thanks!

    Its a candy bar and the manufactures put the word Protein on it so people think it is good for them. Our bodies can only process so much protein at a time to begin with. ( 8 to 10 grams an hour )

  7. Depending on your age it could be a factor from a few years ago. Your surgery weight 209 would be considered low with a 36 BMI so you wont lose like a 280 and over with a 50 BMI . 16 pounds in 7 weeks is fantastic and adds up to over 2 lbs a week. The stall will pass and you will start losing again.

    Look. I think you need to get real and embrace this sh*t!

    It's a stage. We ALL go through it and it's one of the miracle wonders of the honeymoon period.

    So here's your job:

    Some how, SOME WAY, get your Protein need met everyday. I frankly don't care how you do it. Drink 2 Protein Drinks. Done. Drink a Protein Drink and have some meat. I don't care. Just MEET YOUR Protein GOAL. The End. Anything else is unnecessary.

    Now, do NOT allow the snacking bs to re-enter your life. Quit it. Or I swear you will sabotage your surgery. It has a way of sneaking in when you least want it. Do not allow your food innervation to help rationalize your poor choices. Of COURSE snacky slidery food is easy to eat. It's what we want. It's what appeals. The food companies have spent billions addicting us!!! And making the food extra appealing. So you MUST break up with it. Seriously.

    (I hate posts like this...)

    I absolutely agree with you on this ! I just like directness though and some may find this too blatant I guess.

  9. I would stay away from Protein bars personally . They pack as many calories as a candy bar and can be addictive to some. You know yourself better then anyone though.

    I was eating on average 800 calories at 6 months out.

    Breakfast. 1 egg and either turkey sausage or 2 slices of bacon ( I still eat this today )

    lunch. tuna creation pouch and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese

    dinner. 1 rib and part of a baked potato with cheddar cheese ect.

    snack. Almonds

    This is just one day I had logged in my 6 months. Most of the time I could not finish a meal and would go back and finish later instead of snacking on other things.

    I’m 2 1/2 post surgery and until recently I did nothing but sit back and let the weight fall off I’m a self described very lazy person who’s entire life because of my parents profession has been in medicine...I myself know and/or knew better so how did I end up so over weight????!!! But I did and post sleeve I still can’t eat as much as I’d like (think goodness) so why have I actually gain 10lbs in 3mos by “grazing” at first I was never hungry but I just kept pushing my limits and now I’m gaining. Can I reverse this?!?

    2 1/2 years? Yes you can reverse it. You have described yourself as lazy. You wont be able to reverse it unless you are ready to work it. Stop grazing and pushing limits and get back on track or you could end up where you started. Good luck.
