  1. Today

Breakfast Jimmy Dean Honey butter biscuit roll up with sausage, egg , and cheese.

lunch Greens salad (1 cup) with 2 slices of bacon crumbled on top ( ranch dressing 1 tablespoon )

dinner Shrimp and scallops sautéed in butter and garlic with 1/3 cup of egg noodles

snack 1 Greek yogurt (Hyvee brand only 90 calories and 9 carbs)

Snack 2 Boom chicka pop 1 cup and a snack size almond joy

Well after adding this all up it isn't very good, so now I have to go drink a shake and do better tomorrow.

totals without shake were 841 calories 62 carbs 50 fat 37 Protein, ugh shake will make it 67 protein

Just goes to show I need to be doing this. I wont always do these tallies but I will check them and post from time to time. I also need to be drinking more Water.

@Tracyringo: do you find that you are maintaining on this intake or still losing?

I am maintaining. I fluctuate between 165 and 169, if I hit 169 I crack down. I don't track anymore, but doing this maintenance food chart daily will be good for me. I don't exercise because of lower back and neck issues. I do however do my physical therapy strengthening for my neck and back. I have settled on a higher weight then most, I am large framed so I am okay with it. This was my high school weight.

I am in awe of what you can eat as far as calories. Do you exercise a lot? or were you born with a great metabolism?

I find I dump on coffee in the morning, just a half cup makes me sweat and feel weird

  3. Breakfast 1 egg and 4 slices of bacon

lunch 1/2 slice of leftover pizza

dinner 1 oz chicken breast and 3 bites of mashed potato

snack 1/2 bagel with cream cheese and 1 1/2 slice of bacon on top

    snack Peanut Butter crackers

This was yesterday . Looking at this I didn't do very well on my Protein and had too many carbs. 😢 So today I plan on doing better. I had 2 lite beers and a shot of whiskey also. Weighed in at 167.8 this morning so I am okay as far as my weight goes.

Question for all my sleeve peeps! Some days I am hungry & want to eat all day (and I am able to eat small amounts frequently). Today is one of those days. On the other hand, there are days when i can barely take more than a few bites & get full almost immediately. Has anyone else experienced this?

Same here and I have read on other boards about the same thing. I am starting to wonder if it has anything to do with swelling of the sleeve. I say this because I recently found out that I have ulcers and they said my sleeve was swollen. This just may be my case and not all who have days of being able to eat more then other days.

  5. I had lots of anxiety and stress that first year. I was also a daily weigher and it was extremally hard not to compare to others, but I stuck to the plan and the weight did come off. Any gains are Water weight and some people lose ( like I did) not every week but 1 week out of a month. Try not to get too discouraged and stick to your plan the first year no matter what.

This is so upsetting to see. I had surgery on Sept 4th (no pre op diet) required except for all liquids the day before and I have only lost 13lbs. I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong with me. I get in 80oz- a gallon of Water a day. And i always get my Protein in between 65- even 100 a couple of days and my calories are in the 600 ish range. Of the 13 lbs, 10 i lost the first week and then since then just 1.5 a week! Im afraid that I went through all of this for it not t work... I could use some serious advice and calming words because I am desperately freaking out.

Don't freak out, I only lost 14lbs the first month and I was considered a heavy weight. I weighed 296 the day of surgery. I lost 131 pounds the first year and have gone on to lose 15 more. It is very disheartening to see others losing 20 + lbs when you are doing the same work, I get it. Try to remember it is not a race and your body will let go of the weight when its ready, just don't go off your plan.

  7. They have not prescribed me the Carafate at this time. Will be speaking with or seeing the Dr. Monday. The Dr. that did my EGD upped the Dexilant and that is all. Thank you all for the food suggestions. I will make sure to eat correctly to help my situation.

  8. I went and had an EGD this morning after having a pylori test come back negative. I have ulcers and they are upping my Dexilant to 60 mg from the 30mg I take. I also have to go back in 2 weeks for another EGD. My question is what should I avoid and what things can I do to help? I have not seen my Dr. yet but will be making an appointment for next week. Thanks in advacne

  9. I tracked the first 16 months and I always would eat all my calories, when I stopped tracking I lost a few more pounds. I was obsessed with tracking and eating but now I eat more normally and try to be mindful. I am a daily weigher so if the scale starts going up I pay attention to what I am doing. I also still weigh and measure when I start to see the scale go up and I spot check myself sometimes just to be safe. None of us ever want to go back to where we came from and for me I need to keep myself in check for life

I am a little over 1 month post op (sleeve). solid food stage, but I've been struggling since purée stage. The soonest I could get an appointment is this Friday, so I'm just posting in the mean time but will be seeing my doctors about this.

I have no appetite. It feels like I dislike everything I attempt to chew. Sometimes I wanna spit out my Gummy Vitamin before even thinking about swallowing it. I drink Water fine and I've been going back to my Protein Drink just to try to keep up my Protein intake, but I'm still failing. I don't understand how I'll ever keep up this much Protein, all the Vitamins, and all the Water while I have zero desires of eating or drinking.

I take my antacid. 2 a day as prescribed, and I take the smallest bites, but still I get acid reflux and nausea.
I'm not uncomfortable, I'm just worried. I feel like I spend most of my day stressing out about my lack of food/protein intake.

You are not failing. You are still in the early stages and it takes awhile to get a new normal. Take a deep breath and try to relax. You can always go back to scrambled eggs and greek yogurt. It took me awhile to be able to eat more then a few bites of solids, but it will happen. Things will feel normal again down the road.

The reflux sucks and your Dr. may want to give you a different prescription. I was given 3 different kinds before it was the right one . Good luck

My pain was mostly upper left side. But it also hurt below my liver on my right side. It was ACUTE! It was break out in a sweat and know intuitively that you're dying. It's the WORST pain you can even imagine.

Mine was an internal hernia and volvulus and all my bowels were outside the sack and were twisted. IT felt just like that.

Oh , so sorry. That would be more common with RNY and not VSG correct?

I read up a lot on post op depression, I’m only four days preop but I feel like I’m in the muck of it. My significant other is seeming to have a lot of challenges with my new focus. Everything has been very difficult with numerous nods on how selfish I’m being. I feel like an impending doom is after me no matter how positive I’m really trying to be. On the topic of being selfish I’ve had to be home obviously recovering and haven’t been able to help out to much at home. I have been super exhausted these last couple days I’m not sure if that’s atypical ethier. For most I’ve made some boundaries at home with good, such as keeping it in the kitchen and being vocal on when seeing someone else eat junk (McDonald’s,sonic, anything ubereats) upsetting me and removing myself. I try not to be so black and white but all this turmoil is just making me feel more lost than ever.

Sorry you are having such a hard time right now. It takes awhile to get your energy back and recover from this surgery. (it took me about a month) I insisted no junk food in the house and if they wanted to eat that stuff do it at work ect, at least in the beginning. I didn't want to see it and I don't see how that is selfish, its not like they cant eat it, just somewhere else until you get on a good track and know what your doing. Try to focus on how much better you are going to feel when the weight starts coming off. The depression will subside . Good luck

  13. You could always tweek it and do a day or 2 of liquids then go to 3 squares meat or seafood and some veggies (no snacking ) and make sure you weigh and measure your portions. Its hard getting off the carbs once you start them. ( I am not talking about rice or potato ) Processed food and junk food can be the worst. Good luck

When did you start buying new clothing? I’m finding that since I keep losing weight what I buy today may be too big next month. This has already happened to me, I bought a suit just a couple of weeks ago and now it’s too big. I’m not complaining but just wondering how everyone else handles their size changes in regards to clothing?

I went to a thrift store during weight loss phase.

What are yalls thoughts on eating ice cream? Im almost 3 months post surgery and was just wondering

I go to Braums and get the small yogurt twist in a cup. Its 140 calories. I tried halo top last week and its just not for me. You must be careful at 3 months out. I waited until I got to goal or holidays before I ate anything off plan and right back on it the next day. Not everyone can do that and not have issues with relapsing back to old ways.

I think it depends on your age and how long you have been obese. I am 60 and have been obese for over 30 years, and I have loose skin everywhere--neck, upper arms, stomach (the worst area), butt and thighs. I'm going to start weight training in the near future, as I've been told that can help. If not, I'd much prefer sagging skin than go back to my old body!

I agree, I don't like the excess skin and have it everywhere but I would rather have it then be 300+ lbs again any day of the week.
