    Hello everyone,

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post. I guess one of my biggest concerns is the fact that for over 2 years I've had chronic pain in my left foot that doesn't allow me to do much. I don't know how to swim. I can go for a 10 minute walk or do about 10 minutes on the recumbent bike right now. I can also work out to some chair exercise videos, but that's about it. I'm hoping beyond hope that the weight loss from surgery will relieve the pain in my foot, allowing me to up my exercise/cardio. At the same time I'm scared that my foot won't heal, thus preventing me from losing the amount of weight that I want to. I've been to physical therapy, I have customized orthotics, and have received countless cortisone injections in my foot. Anyway, I was just wondering, how intensely did you all work out? Did you find that sticking to the proper diet was more effective for weight loss?

I did not exercise. I have lumbar stenosis and it affects my legs. I am also 50 years old. Its all about what you put in your mouth and following the plan the surgeon gives you.

  2. I will be 2 years out 8/9 and I am very happy I did this, but I am like you in the thought, will I ever not be reminded that I had this surgery and the answer for me is no. I had Gerd immediately after surgery and take meds for it daily, so how can I forget ? Also I still can only eat small amounts and still feel like its Thanksgiving everyday ! Knowing what I know now I would still do it all over again in a heartbeat . Maybe this will change in a few years and maybe it wont but I am much happier for sure .

  3. My philosophy was, its just for now not forever !! Keep in mind you need to get to goal before you start trying all the stuff you love again. When you do start eating those things keep it in check. On occasion maybe 3 or 4 times I have gone to taco bell and had 1 taco and that is all I can hold in my sleeve. I will also have a cupcake on occasion too. I am not saying this is for everyone, but it works for me. I don't feel deprived of anything and am very happy with how far I have come. Good luck and stick with the diet for now.

Alright the pain in my tummy is getting real and I'm pretty sure it's just Constipation. I'm coming up on a week of no

  5. I am 7 months behind you and every time I eat I belch constantly and my throat makes weird noises and there is nothing I can do about it. So I rarely eat out because of it. Mine started after I got scoped and never went away, it could of been coincidence that it started at that time for me. Hope you get some relief.

First of all people "assume" that the sleeve (Gastric By Pass) is the "EASY WAY OUT". I'm here to tell you it is the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. The only issue I have is eating enough or getting a variety of things to eat. Can anyone help out with that. I tend to stick to the chicken, beef, cheese, Premier Protein shakes and bars, etc. I am having difficulty finding recipes where I can get a variety in 4 oz portions.

Also does anyone else have problems with Constipation and if so, ideas. I do Fiber and get as much liquid in me as I possible can in a day.

Colace is what I use and I haven't had too many problems since. Use the generic it is much cheaper.

What it is , the surgeon puts down into your stomach this catheter, they call it a bougie, measured in increments called French, average one about as thick as your thumb, in most cases about a 30 French or above. Has a patient rip out a 30 French urinary catheter, Yee-ouch still pains me to think about IT! Last urinary one I had was a 15 or 16 F, so about half as thick and I was ready to promise ANYTHING, maybe even offer up my First- Born to get that neoprene rascal Out Out Out! Please, I'll take myself to the BR every 15 minutes, please Please please? So I have pity on Anyone who has That kind of Plumbing Assistance!💦

Sorry you had to go through all of that. You are funny though
