How to get enough fluid during the day
It’s interesting how different all of our plans are! I can not count protein shakes toward my water intake.

Sleeve incision area pain
I used ice packs in the hospital. I thought they really helped. It gets easier by the day to do simple stuff like get out of bed, or roll over.

Incision Glue
I peeled mine off after a week because I was having an allergic reaction to the glue. The incisions were fine. In fact, they look much better than the irritated areas from the bandages!

Any March 2018 Sleevers?
Holy crap, I have lost 9# since surgery!! Woot! I I humbly apologize for trashing Premier Protein -- I love it now. :-)

Great photo essay! Congrats on the weight loss.

Long term consequences?
One other procedure to consider is an endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty. Not sure if you get the benefit of ghrelin reduction with it. I had the laproscopic sleeve surgery a week ago and recovery has been easier than I would ever have expected. Best wishes to you, whatever you chose.

Do You Attend Support Group Meetings in RL?
@FluffyChix Its a shame your center's meetings are so far away -- maybe the local meeting will be OK. Maybe once a month I could justify such a drive. I'm lazy, LOL.

Do You Attend Support Group Meetings in RL?
Our monthly meetings are run by the dietitians. I haven't gone to my first one -- it was postponed last night because of snow. I've heard its mainly veterans.

ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENSCOPY ( Do others have this done two weeks before surgery??
My experience was like CreekImp's -- very quick, painless, and went out to breakfast afterwards! I had mine a few months before surgery, but then my pre-op period was the full 6 months.

Any exciting Easter plans? Any fears of chocolate bunnies and beans?
Easter dinner at my niece's house -- I have to bring mac cheese. I love that stuff, but not at 3 weeks. Is anyone else getting snowed in today?

Any March 2018 Sleevers?
Tackle the water in small, steady increments, and drink 1/2 protein shakes (or half bottle of premier protein) every 4 hours. I could manage 64 oz of clear liquids in one ounce increments by day 3, but not the added hit of the protein drinks, so good luck to you! Let us know what works for you!

Onederland Celebration....Me and my bestie flying on trampolines...with Pix!

Any March 2018 Sleevers?
Today is Day 8 for me, and I started protein shakes yesterday. In general, it didn't go that well: my go-to shakes didn't taste as good, and I felt overfilled the whole damn day. Today I am trying a different strategy, with smaller serving sizes, and I'm going to incorporate a PP shake split at 10 and 2 (I'm instructed to eat four meals a day). So far, so good. My first shake of the day is 50% cold decaf, 50% skim milk, and 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, over ice. And I went to MoM to get things moving last night -- that may help, too!

Any March 2018 Sleevers?
Hey there, was that a DEXA scan?? This is something I'm interested in doing as part of establishing my long-term goal. Still on protein shakes, so I don know what works after surgery. But I plan on starting with stuff like cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs, mashed beans, tuna salad, chicken salad. My material says to add protein powder to things like applesauce, mashed bananas, etc.
