    Not enough calories

Hi Arabian78. I saw Melissa today and asked about the bougie -- he's using a #40 bougie these days.

    Need meal ideas

I suggest you add a few food sites to your instagram for a regular feed of ideas. I like Whole Sisters, Whole30, nomnompaleo, etc. I also added "my tiny healthy plate"!
  3. VSG is not rocket science. I just picked a local doctor with 2,000 of these surgeries under his belt and went with him.
  4. ...what does your diet look like? How many calories and carbs are you eating in a typical day?
  5. I picked up a package of caulifower crust pizzas at Costco last weekend. Haven't tried it yet, but you might want to consider trying it, too. Plus, I saw a "pizza" recipe where they used Canadian bacon as the crust, which I thought was interesting. And last but not least, at some point you can consider eating the topping of a pizza, right?

    Question about hiatal hernia

I had a significant hiatal hernia repaired with my VSG, and there was minimal pain. BUT, at 10 days, I developed fairly severe pain at one of my incision sites that lasted for about a week. Go figure!

    Can’t make a decision

The one thing that tipped the scale for me and led me to me surgery was the number of people in medical fields that have bariatric surgery.
  8. I feel like I'm following @Creekimp13 around the message board and agreeing with everything she says, LOL. This is what I am doing. I'm at 8,000 steps a day now. I need to add an actual walk to meet this goal. All three of my current paths are 1.3 miles. Two of them are fairly flat and the third is very hilly -- I do the hilly walk every few days. Map My Walk is a great ap if you have a smart phone with GPS. And, get a Fitbit -- I ordered the new Versa and its coming today!
  9. What she said! Stalls are frustrating and a little scary. You are definitely not alone.

    Any MAY sleevers???

Why? Are you below BMI 40 with no comorbities?
  11. When I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, I kind of freaked out thinking about how serious the condition is. I've lost ~30#s so far, and the amount of pressure I need has dropped almost in half. Sorry about the seizures --my 26 yo son had one last week after several years without one.
  12. PSA:  Don't try to eat flank steak at Week #5, no matter how thinly it is sliced, how small the pieces are, or how much you chew them.  Just don't do it.

I am still learning to slow down my eating. Yesterday's nutritious grilled chicken salad came up cuz I ate too damn fast.

  13. Population 3! I'm an engineer, so no detail is too small For my sig line, the 14th of every month (surgery day) is the start of a new month.
  14. Its hard to believe it has been 8 weeks already -- you are doing great with weight loss and walking, too!
  15. Looking back, I see that my stall started on the 7th (Week #3.5), and this morning I weighed the exact same amount (on the 17th -- 10 days later). I've checked in with the measuring tape, and I'm not getting measurable losses there, either. Stalls are demoralizing!!!! The one thing we have to remember is that they are common and they end, eventually. Here's hoping ALL of our stalls end soon!!

What The? I Stopped Losing Weight!

Its called the week three stall -- or the three week stall. I've seen it both ways! Its normal/common. It generally happens between weeks 2 and 4. I'm on day #10 myself.

    Poll: What is your goal?

I am 5'5" and my goal weight is 144 lbs.

    March 2018 sleevers

I lost 18#s in the first month, but now I am also in a stall. Its been 8 days and I am up 0.2 lbs from the start, bouncing around the 198's. I started Phase 4 of my diet yesterday, with no more protein shakes (unless I need a few grams of protein to meet my daily target).

    Goal weight vs Comfortable size

I'm intrigued by this. Can you tell me more about how they did the metabolic analysis? Was it Dexa scan?

    Goal weight vs Comfortable size

In my mangled post above, I didn't mean to denigrate 160 as a goal - I meant to say that 260 isn't a good goal. I will be satisfied if I end up at 160-180, but I am hoping for and shooting for 140-150. My PCP encouraged me to aim for the high end of normal. 8 days, +0.2# << stalls are the pits

    Goal weight vs Comfortable size

I'm sorry to be a dissenter here, but I think 260 pounds could NOT be possible be comfortable at 5'4". I'm 5'5", and 228 lbs was NOT comfortable. My PCP would be happy with 180, so that might be reasonable, but I'm sure I -- and you -- could do better.
