    Travel question

@LoraLazers I mean hellooooo you're going to Paris. It's what they are known for....imagine you being in Paris and being like "oh no, I can't try that macaron, i'm on liquids". I would die. I would climb to the top of the eifel tower and die. lol jk but seriously, after surgery...I was a total b**ch. I was in pain, sad that I couldn't eat, had no energy and your hormones are also going crazy. Enjoy the trip...glad you're waiting til after your trip to have the surgery. Eat like a queen when you're there and when you get back, have the surgery and when you're on your liquid diet, just reminisce of all the food you ate. lol I Lowkey watched cooking tutorials on youtube and facebook when I was on my liquid diet for 3 weeks to help me get through it. lol

    Right decision or not

I am one month post op today. No complications so far. I regretted the surgery a couple times during my recovery process the first couple weeks. But one month post op, I have energy, feeling empowered and down 26 lbs in one month. I'm feeling motivated to get back to the person I used to be and how I used to look. I'm very excited and optimistic for my journey ahead. If you have the funds and the time to take off for work, I say do it for not only yourself, but for your children so they have a parent around for much much longer. <3 good luck

But it was rough! I feel your pain! It gets easier! I'm one month post op exactly today and 26 lbs down since I started 33 days ago.

OHHH yeah I will definitely do that! Thanks for the advice! I'm so excited! Next goal after 199 is 190...my goals are focused on the 10s. I had the realization today that I could be at 199 by the end of the week and it just made me so excited and feel a little more motivated! Post to let us know when you hit the goal! <3

    Alone After Surgery

LOL I was basically the same. Live with my boyfriend but he owns a bar so his hours are polar opposite of mine...so I've always been a little bit of a loner and really independent so I stocked my fridge before surgery. I put all my cans of broth on my kitchen counter so I wasn't lifting my arm in the pantry or bending down to get it if I left it in the grocery bag...everything was at hip level lol. Getting in and out of bed the first week was rough for me though. Still did it on my own. Honestly, after surgery, the last thing I wanted was to be bothered in the hospital room. Constantly needing to pee because of the IV fluids, dry heaving a little because of the anesthesia, and constantly being bothered by the nurses...oh and gas pain lol. My boyfriend stayed the night with me but he also stayed out of my way...the whole time I was recovering at home (2 weeks) he was there on his phone playing games lol so he was"there" but not really. I did everything on my own. You can do it! <3
  10. So the other day I went out with a co-worker. I decided to get chicken kebab...seemed like the healthiest option out of everything at the mall...I didn't get rice, bread, hummus, or ANYTHING else...just the chicken. I was able to eat like 4 or 5 of the pieces of chicken on the skewer. I was really surprised that I was able to eat that much. That was the most I got down since surgery a month ago. I was worried my stomach wasn't restricted enough... The other day my family had gotten so much pizza and bread and wings and desserts and stuff...I fell into temptation... I took a little appetizer plate and put a small sized pizza slice on it....picked off all the meat first and ate that, and could barely eat half the slice. While this was not a good thing to do only a month out of surgery...I realized one thing...I'm definitely restricted lol Prior to surgery, I could eat like 3 slices, some breadsticks, a couple wings...now, barely half a slice? I need to trust the process lol I did more walking this weekend on a mini vacation I took then I have since I had the surgery...I lost 3 lbs over the weekend and i'm so happy. 3 more lbs til i'm in ONEderland.
  11. I was curious if any of you have become friends in the real world or met if you live near each other or anything like that? Think this would be interesting to know lol I'm in Los Angeles, CA if anyone was curious

Lacking the motivation to even walk...

@Berry78 wow that gives me a little sense of relief...I hope that happens with me...lol @Ldyvenus ahh I know. I feel like I barely have energy as is...I should just be patient. I'm sure this stall will break and the lbs will shed. This process/journey is very challenging...people that think doing this is taking the easy way out are soooo wrong.

Lacking the motivation to even walk...

@YeaMe Thank you so much! I'm hoping for the best!

Lacking the motivation to even walk...

@YeaMe Thanks for the advice. Your progress looks like it's been amazing so far! I'm hoping I break this stall that I've been in for like 2 weeks now soon and the weight starts coming off. :/
  15. I had felt pain and like a pulling feeling for the first 3 weeks. Maybe I was a slow healer? Idk...I still occassionally get these little pains near my incisions or near my bellybutton (where my 5th incision was). Our bodies are healing and some are quicker than others. Some people finally feel like themselves at 9 weeks post op...it just takes time. Hang in there! <3

    Cramping after eating?

I've noticed sometimes when I eat something, it will go down fine and then maybe a few bites in I start experiencing this horrible pain in my stomach, kind of like cramps and then after a minute they go away... Is this because I may be eating too fast? I don't ever feel nauseous or anything like that...just get this stabbing cramp feelings after a few bites... I gotta learn to eat slower!

    Cramping after eating?

@kajameetsworld22 My belly was swollen for a good 2.5 weeks...you're actually lucky that it is a diuretic... May be tmi but I struggle in that department...if my life depended on it i'd probably die lol. I need to buy some benefiber or something,
  18. sleevedshereen

    Sex after RNY?

This may be TMI and I can't even believe i'm going to open up about this but here it goes...I had gastric sleeve...I waited about 2 weeks. I put a pillow and was on my tummy...lol it was ok. The pain was not bad, but sex itself was actually painful...I was reading a lot of articles on why this could happen (regarding dryness)...our estrogen levels are out of whack, our hormones are out of whack so for me...I just felt like I was losing my virginity all over again (not to mention it had been like 3 weeks since I had sex with my boyfriend) lol. That might be TMI but I just thought as a woman you might want to know that I wasn't affected by the pain of surgery, I was affected by pain of not being able to lubricate. Last week at 3 weeks post op I tried again....it was great. lol *dying of embarrassment now*

    Cramping after eating?

@kajameetsworld22 well for me I was only getting about 40 oz of fluids the first week...if that...at my first follow up the doctor told me that it was enough to not get dehydrated. He told me not to worry about protein as much as staying hydrated the first month (on liquid diet for a month post op) --- saw ppl were on pureed/soft foods by two weeks on here so I've slowly been nibbling to see how I react to it but for the most part I am drinking water, vitamin water zero, diet snapple and adding crystal light to my water. I switch it up throughout the day so I don't get sick of the liquids.

    Gatorade

my surgeon says vitamin water zero and gaterade G2 are ok and even diet snapple and of course crystal light

    July 2017 Sleevers

I'm from SoCal too! Had my surgery on 7/14. I've been in a stall for like 2 weeks it feels like. As long as we're eating correctly and doing some exercise this will work! I feel like I've lost inches too even though the scale doesn't show movement lol

    Cramping after eating?

I don't have any incisions on my right...mine are mainly on my left side of my abdomen but yeah you will feel a lot of pain for the first week/two. I'm still feeling some pain. Some take longer to heal then others....also its only your second day open. They just cut you in 5-6 different places and cut out most of your stomach...pain is expected lol
  23. sleevedshereen

    Cramping after eating?

@Mersh yeah I figured I'm not even a month out yet! lol my body will adjust and the surgery will work/help me. I just gotta get more protein and water in. This is definitely a challenge though. Eff the people that want to say this is taking the easy way out. We're strong as hell

2-3 weeks out, beginning soft solids

@mytime4me I totally agree with you! Maybe my energy levels will increase when I increase liquids and protein. :/
  25. sleevedshereen

    Cramping after eating?

LOL. I totally agree with you, not about the farting lol. I'm so used to eating fast while I'm at work on my lunch break but now it's like if I don't slow down or take smaller bites I get these terrible cramps that last a minute or two. The mental aspect of this surgery has been the toughest for sure! I've also been stalled for a week and a half and struggle to drink enough fluids a day and I'm like on half liquid half soft food diet because I can barely eat anything so I don't get enough protein in either. ANDDD on top of it now that I'm back to work, my days are 12 hour days by the time I get home and walking is the LAST thing I want to do. My energy level has been a little low and I'm feeling a little discouraged but I'm just trusting the process. Quick question --- since you had surgery a week before me....are you still having any pulling sensation pain? Or feel any pain inside your abdomen? Even the slightest?
