I'm glad I can't even eat deli meats then! lol I'm just too scared to drink. I really didn't drink before the surgery anyways. But when it comes time to it, I'm scared I'll get drunk on half a glass of wine lol @JerseyJules

Less than a month away! I was nervous too but you'll be happy you did it. Once I got my date, the surgery was all I thought about. I just wanted July 14th to come as quickly as possible. lol

@cjsunshine I remember I did my bloodwork and my surgeon's office got all my results and then BOOM had a surgery date for 2 weeks later! Super exciting as time comes closer and closer!! The anticipation!

@JerseyJules last week I tried pizza (shhh don't tell anyone, they'll attack me) lol I ate the meat toppings cuz you know protein first..lol jk but I could barely even eat half a slice. That made me excited considering I used to eat like 3 slices, a couple wings and breadsticks lol yay for restriction!

@JerseyJulesI haven't tried alcohol yet. When I was in San Diego last weekend I had a baby sip of a margarita but was too scared to really try it lol. Also deli meat...well turkey just makes me wanna gag as soon as I put it in my mouth...which sucks because it looks like a lot of people go to that for snacks and protein...oh well! lol But most things I haven't had a problem with either.

    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Why is that? Do they not take out as much of the stomach as with VSG?

Being in a stall has been the most challenging. I also think this has really taken an emotional/mental toll on me with my relationship with my significant other and family. It's definitely life altering and the support I had when I first had surgery is dwindling away. It's like they think "ok it's been a month, shut up now" or something...Yesterday I felt very alone.

@JerseyJules I do that too. I can never finish a meal even if it's small as hell lol. I usually eat half and then later go back to it. I hate the super full feeling also...sometimes it makes my stomach cramp and hurt if I eat too fast or too much. Still learning how my new stomach works lol

@JerseyJules Are you saying I need to take a road trip to vegas and eat whatever I want? Because I can do that...lol jk

Honestly, I'm only one month out but from reading everyone's comments on the topic, people only regain when they start eating unhealthy and pushing their intake and grazing (snacking alll day long). Also, a lot of people prevented weight gain because they noticed they gained a few lbs and quickly put themselves in check. Those who have gained did not do that from what i'm reading.

Hi All! I live in Woodland Hills (San Fernando Valley) and I work in Culver City area. I had my surgery 1 month and 3 days ago with Dr Feiz and Associates in Beverly Hills. Surgery went well! Lost 17 lbs in a month so far. Ask me any questions and I'd be happy to answer them! @LoveMatilda

@Belle3endosleeve I've lost like 17 lbs in one month, an additional 7 lbs was a day before surgery when I had to do the cleanse (laxative and enema). All together 24 lbs in a month.

Hi there! and YES HE IS RIGHT. The contrast they make you drink after surgery right before the X-ray is worse than anything I've ever had in my entire life. That was probably the worst experience of my whole surgery lol. I literally cried and begged them to please not make me drink it. I was told I couldn't be discharged without this xray and without drinking it. Think consistency of dishwashing soap, with a taste of dishwashing soap and a bitter alcohol. So thick and gross. I chugged it, threw up and cried as I walked back to my room. lmao kind of funny now when I look back because I threw a tantrum like a child. It was bad. lol Good luck to you on your journey!

    Energy level

Don't forget we really don't have much in our bodies. The first 3.5 weeks I was on an all liquid diet...taking a shower took up all my energy lol I was legitimately drained for the rest of the day. Walking 30 min was all I could do. This is totally normal. Once you start introducing foods and protein in your diet, your energy levels will increase. I'm a month out and my energy levels are now just finally increasing. Still not even 100% yet. But that could be the fact that I have 12 hour days by the time I wake up and get home from work too.

    Weakness & shortness of breath

Totally normal. I was on liquids for the first three weeks. The first two weeks I felt like I couldn't effing breathe. I would have the air on in my car because I felt like I was suffocating without the air flow. It went away probably like a week or two ago. Weakness is normal...our bodies have nothing in them so any little thing I did took all my energy. Taking a shower took all my energy from me for the day...Walking sucked all my energy out. My doctor told me for the first month focus on liquids more than protein so you don't become dehydrated.

I had surgery one month ago. I was losing weight rapidly and then BOOM i've been stuck at 203 for like two weeks now...if not a little more than two weeks...I also have PCOS. Had not had a cycle in 5-6 months and I too finally got it. It's extremely frustrating I just keep telling myself it's just a stall...it will break soon...it's taking a toll on me mentally and emotionally at this point. @batistaselenia

    Relationship Talk

Thanks! Your words helped a lot. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I'm glad you have someone who supports you and finds you beautiful as well. I need to build more confidence in myself and believe him when he says these things to me so that I don't sabotage my relationship. This process has been really hard on me mentally and emotionally. Just trying to get passed it.

    Relationship Talk

@Dashofpixiedust8 I feel like I'm doing all these things to try to remedy the issues I have with my body. I've bought so many different oils to see if that will help with my stretch marks and scars on my thighs...I'm doing laser hair removal sessions so I never have to worry about shaving again....I'm looking up plastic surgery in case I hate the way I look and I'm stressing so much and cry about my body issues and he just looks at me like you're f**cking crazy, what are you seeing when you look in the mirror?...He also just doesn't understand it...he's 6'3 and only 230 lbs. He doesn't know what it's like to be obese or have these body issues. But you're totally right...I need to not allow how I feel to become a wedge in our relationship because he loves me the way I am and for what I will become...it's tough. I see and read about people divorcing and breaking up after surgery and I just don't want to be one of those people...

I could use help with My Head

@Half-TumUGH I know exactly how you feel. One thing my boyfriend and I used to do was go out and pig out and try new places and enjoy meals together and now that it's gone...it just sucks. Eating was a hobby for me. lol I miss being able to feel like a normal person and eat with my family or go out to a restaurant and be able to order whatever the heck I want. The restriction sucks too sometimes. Two bites in and i'm full sometimes...Also, I feel like I'm constantly over thinking in my head about food choices. When I order a salad with chicken, I'm like I can't even enjoy a salad all together. Eat the chicken first, then lettuce. It just sucks sometimes. I think we're so fresh out...I'm just a month and three days out that it's still an adjustment and a hard life style change. Also, not having food as a crutch or a hobby has made me realize...do I even really have hobbies?? I feel isolated because I can't drink, can't eat...so how can I hang out with friends? My boyfriend doesn't even want to go to dinner with me because it's no longer the same... I just feel like this surgery is affecting me socially, emotionally and mentally and I'm not handling it well either. It's opened up my eyes to just how stupid some of my relationships with others that if we aren't going out to eat then what else do we have in common? I'm just a little sad right now...
